I have an unlocked HP Elite X3 and am on a mission to delete the system apps I do not use and are otherwise uninstallable.
I have found the appx folder and removed them which breaks functionality of those apps and causes them to force close when opened from the start menu, however, I cannot get the start menu entry to disappear, even after reboot. On Windows 10 desktop, I simply use PowerShell and they are gone after reboot.
How would I go about getting those start menu entries removed?
For those wondering: Reset the phone after deleting apps to get rid of them from the start menu.Found out the hard way after accidentally deleting the wrong thing causing my fingerprint scanner to quit working.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 SM-T700 klimtWIFI does not have a radio--it is WIFI ONLY. So, why are there telephony apps in a so-called "custom" ROM? If it were actually customized it would not include useless, resource-sucking apps. Every "custom" ROM I've ever installed (including ones for a Kindle--another NOT A PHONE device) included telephony apps. Why is that?
I have, out of necessity, figured out how to remove all this cruft, but the basic question is: Why are they there in the first place?
If anyone has a clue to as to why a "custom" ROM for a NOT A PHONE device has phone apps please, please let me know.
>>> I created this post partially as a public service for all those who don't know that these apps are installed and eating up CPU and RAM resources, continually trying to do something that is impossible for them to do.

BTW, when I find my typed list of what folders/files I delete I'll append it to this post. I have to look for it because I haven't used it in a while because I recognize, but can't recall from memory, what has to be eradicated EVERY SINGLE TIME I FLASH A NEW ROM.
=====FOLDERS/APPS I DELETE in this order. The list is old and from another ROM, but it should mostly apply to LINEAGEOS======

Hi. I have an A3 2017 (Oreo) and my problem is that there is no way to allow or deny app permissions in the Secure Folder. Basically every app has all its permissions enabled and greyed out, giving you no option to change the current status.
Also under each permission says "enforced by policy".
Is this how secure folder is supposed to work? And is there any way around it?
Thanks.
Anyone? Any ideas about this?
I am having the same problem.
I am having the same problem and there is no any documentation about it in Samsung site
Same problem here. After deleting the secure folder and setting up a new one, the app permission management works for a couple of days. But then somehow stops working (update? restart?) and the "enforced by policy" error comes up.
Any solutions?
I have Secure Startup encryption enabled on my S9 and all I need to know if that only encrypts the files on the phone only when the whole phone is totally powered OFF or will it encrypt all the system files and personal files even if the phone is powered ON but LOCKED by the Screen Lock?
If that is not the case, will I need to use a third-party app to encrypt my files or even Samsung's Secure Folder app?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,I have a note 10+ and I had 2 huge folders of music. I connect it with PC and deleted one of the folder, then I got the error that device not responding. I removed the cable, checked the first folder was gone, then I deleted the second folder using solid explorer. But my mobile is still showing the same storage as before. I tried looking with SD Maid and few other memory analyzing apps to see what is taking place. The app "disk usage" showing 95.6gb is taken by system data, but I cannot figure out which folder I should look for.. I also tried clearing system cache from recovery menu.. but nothing is working.
anyone have any suggestions other than resetting the device?
The device is not rooted btw.
thanks
Enable show root storage under settings/other in solid explorer and check if you can spot redundant music folders and if it then allows you to delete it.
I ran into the same issue. Since I updated to Android 10, the storage space was not available after deleting a file or a folder. The only work around was to reset the phone and activate the trashcan everywhere. Then each time you delete a file or a folder, you go to your trashcan and you empty it. Problem solved for me. I guess this is a bug within Android 10 as I have the same issue on both my Note 9 512Gb and my Note10+ 512Gb (both Exynos). Hope it helps!
I think that this issue is generated by the new way of the file management, I read here in XDA before android 10 release, that files generated by an app would only be accessible by that particular app, the author of the article was very worried about this, , because although this supposedly makes the device more secure, it generates other problems, as the one exposed here, I blocked updates because of this very reason, the convoluted new file management
Do you have file guardian from galaxy labs? That's where i found my deleted stuff which still took space. I got back almost 80gb after deleting all of it.

I downloaded file guardian from sammobile, installed but cannot find the icon to run it from. It shows up in system/apps/file guardian but of course it can’t be run from there. Where was your icon hiding?
Kind regards.
