A really annoying problem immediate help required!! - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Hi I am facing a problem in my z2 plus which I purchased this January, I root the phone in march and then installed custom ROMs on a daily basis, I liked to try out the different ROMs available for my set, then I noticed that the battery life of my phone was decreasing, I thought it was because of a single custom ROM but no custom ROM gave me the perfect battery life, so if I install stock ROM will my battery performance be like it was

if you have no problem in using custom rom then use Aex 5.4+ pico gapps + nameless kernel.. this combo will give you best battery back up.. from next time onward if you wanna ask a query .. post in the query section.. not in this section

No necessarily. MIUI and ZUI has a better battery performance because this has a own saving mode. Yo always can tray to rom + Custom Kernel + tweeks , is no t magic, you must try the best combination for you specific use.

Yes,Install the stock rom.Everything will be okay!

Try an app called AccuBattery. Check how is the actual condition of the battery.
Any Lithium-ion battery lose their capacity with charging cycle. So more we charge battery, less backup it gives.
Battery makes say, 20-80% is a sweet spot to save much of the battery wear n tear !! Since most of the charge cycle damage happen between 80-100%.
I am no expert, just shared few points which I leant by reading here n there. So wait for other expert to comment :fingers-crossed:

Best Custom Rom for Stability and Battery

Hello,
What Custom Rom you guys think its best for Battery Life and Stability?
I've been using CM11 for the last few months and now im Trying Omnirom. They are both stable and use the same battery.
I cannot try every rom, so im asking here for your opinion.
I very much doubt battery life would be any different because of ROM version.
It has more to do with individual usage patterns
&
BT On/active/streaming
Brightness level/Auto
Data On/updates/push services
Calls talk time
Text/chat apps
Wi-Fi/Hotspot on/active
I'd say if your getting nearly 2h's of screen on time then the ROM is just fine.
There may be others getting more, but it all depends on how you use your device.
I don't mind charging my phone 2-3 times throughout the day(to help keep it topped up), I don't use Wi-Fi since I have unlimited data, unless it's for a large occasional download (testing new ROM/apps) have auto app updates and push services on) and leave BT on to automatically connect to my car stereo and start streaming music and also always leave auto brightness on.
Personally, I have tried lot's of different Custom Roms, and to be honest, none of them are as good as Stock 4.3 in terms of battery life and stability. Yes, other ROMs offer additional features and Android Versions that would otherwise be unavailable, but are mostly less stable, more laggy and have worse battery life. If you want customisation, you can root and use Xposed Framework.
That said!.. the best custom ROM that I have used is both FML Kitkat and FML Lollipop by MWisBest.

Recently I went back to 4.2.2 (Verizon) because no roms I could find had decent battery life. I started using greenify to help with memory, as I find that soon as it gets to about 100mb free, the lag is terrible.
So in your opinion FML Kitkat vs stock on battery is worse? I briefly tried FML Lolipop but felt it was too early in dev and buggy
thx,

Yeah, I've always found that stock Jelly Bean has the best battery life. But your experiences may vary with usage.
I have used CM11, PA, Shiny ROM and FML so far. I cannot compare them to stock, since I haven't used stock due to lack of customization features.
IMO, Shiny ROM + Dirty V Kernel with Nephilim's settings had the best battery life. On standby, my phone ran for more than 2 days without a single charge. Performance was decent, although I wouldn't say that it was ideal.
I'm currently running on the latest FML Lollipop + Smitty L Kernel with Nephilim's settings. The battery life is decent, with about a day and a half standby time. Performance is fantastic. If you value both battery life AND performance, you might as well give this a try, as it is definitely worth the effort.

Best ROM for battery life?

What's the most stable and battery-friendly Lollipop custom ROM and kernel combination for the Z1C at the moment?
I've lost track after months of not upgrading my phone and would appreciate some pointers. Thanks!
I would recommend to not use LP if you are out for battery life.
KitKat, especially this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/rom-d550314-4-0-108latest-t2862578/page59 has the best battery life. I downgraded a while ago after it sucked down my battery every day and doesnt provide any advantages...
Greetz
I agree with doenen.
Updated to 5.0.2 OTA (coming from 1 day old 4.3) and had a poor battery life. LP drained my battery from 100% to 30% in one day (12h) of occasional whatsapp, facebook and browsing.
I downgraded to Kitkat 4.4.4 (14.4.A.0.157_R2C, see here) and now I got from 100% to 20% in 3! days with the same activity (WLAN on, occasionally mobile data on, whatsapp, facebook and some chrome, airplane mode at night).
Kitkat is currently my favorite as battery life is one of my top priorities.

I generally agree but I'm currently using prerooted stock 5.0.2 and can easilly reach 2 days od battery life with the right use of Greenify and Amplify combination as well as stamina mode. I recommend you to have a look at those threads:

Thanks for your advice, but since I just purchased my Z1C I wanted to stay as close to stock as possible (also in case I need to make use of the warranty - though I am aware that my downgrading may already have voided that, but I decided to take that risk).
Thanks for the advice, guys! I'd rather be using a CM based ROM, rather than stock, cos I don't like the Sony interface too much. Are KK/LP ROMs that are based on CM that considerably worse at battery life than the stock versions?

I can only give you my experience with the Galaxy S2. I flashed CM11 Kitkat and the battery life was the same as with stock Jellybean.

I was using CM 12.1 nightlies for about 3 months and I can tell you it requires a lot of tweaking to make it battery friendly (I mean A LOT) and it still wasn't even close to KitKat or even stock Lollipop I'm using now. If you consider staying on KitKat I highly recommend this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2743177. It's not updated for some time but it worked for me for almost a year and battery life was great.

+1 for KitSlim_AMG, if you enable conservative governor and disable a few things in play services, you should get three day battery easily.
Problem with LP is wakelocks. If you have a messenger installed, it will keep the mobile radio active all the time.
Just flash a ROM with built in wakelock blocker (eg AICP) and you're good. My battery life improved on LP since it uses ART.
Miui works great too!! Two days and more are really well for me

I've actually been using the old version of the MobileActiveRadioFix for a while now, with success I might say. Good to hear it's getting updated.
Two months since I switched to LP and I first tried stock ROM, then on AOSP.
Thanks to the stamina sony feature, I hardly noticed any faster battery drain between KK and LP stock ROM.
But with AOSP rom the story is quite different !
I've found this really interesting post ([GUIDE]Extreme Battery Life Thread(Greenify+Amplify+Power Nap))
But battery life is still not at stock ROM's level
the best ROM for battery life has to be stock. I'm on stock 5.1.1, with moderate usage 30% battery life gets used up per day
I'm on Xposed but didn't need to use greenify or amplify either. just use the stock STAMINA mode, activate to always-on, whitelist the apps that you want to continue to receive messages when screen is off

Best ROM for oneplus 3 in terms of battery life?

With so many Rom options available for the Oneplus 3 it becomes difficult for the users to decide which rom is best for which purpose. For example , Resurrection Remix ROM is the best in terms of customization options. I am looking for a ROM that has the best battery life. So any suggestion guys?
Thanx
I've got pretty awesome battery life with the resurrection remix ROM.
The differences are about max 30mins more screen on time. With dash charging i dont want to sacrifice the smoothness over battery life since it charges really really really fast. So all roms have theirs advantages and disadvantages . Flash rom. Back it. Flash again. Try them all and find the one who fits you. My shoes maybe wont fit in your feet . So youll have to find the right "shoes" yourself

good point bro
Just install multirom. Put the ROM you liked the most on the system partition and if you want to try a new one just install that on the internal memory, that way you can test it without loosing or restore Everytime your android. But for me I like RR the most right know. Also you can customize it on also everything.
It depends on one's personal taste. But i am a stock oos liker so i come to use Freedom Os on my op3.Freedom os is basically stock rom with some polished additions. It has a beautiful AROMA installer. Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/rom-freedomos-1-0-t3409348
Sultan just released his op3 rom. I've had for a month as a beta tester and it's been fantastic.
I confirm what other users said, I tried the last 3 days resurrection remix ROM (the one with ElementalX Kernel), and the battery life is really increased. I don't know if it is because of the rom, or the kernel. With my usage (Whatsapp Chrome Youtube), i'm now at 2,5 hours Screen on Time with 70% battery, when usually i was at 50% at this usage.
Anyway, also with 50% @ 2,5 SOT i was happy anyway to finish everyday.
I just don't like the camera app
I will try to ask here because i don't know if is good to open new thread. Do you know guys if it is possible to flash the stock camera in any other ROM? It is really good, and the 3rd party app are not really good compared to the stock one.
Thanks
Bye

No you can't flash stock camera on any other CM/AOSP based roms.
Someone ( Too lazy to search ) is trying to port it.

ResurrectionRemix 5.8.4 becoming slower than before (K420N) *noobfriendly*

When I installed the RR (ResurrectionRemix), I was the happiest man on earth! Since then I was really happy of my hard work that I have been doing for like a month! I was searching so hard and finnaly found a solution on installing TWRP and installing first custom ROM on this beautiful mid-range device!
(Which was a relief of the limitations of my phone in terms of customization and performance which is a MASSIVE upgrade)
Then I realized after a month of using this marvelous ROM that the devs made (shutout to all of the, including pvineeth97 which helped me solving the problem when the custom ROM didn't want to boot because of the KeyMaster files of the stock version that I had) the device has became older and slower... Unfortunately, that's life. We get older, and they get older... It's really sad and your thinking everyday "Could this phone die at this moment right now in my hands?"
Anyway, I just wanted to share with all a slowdown with my phone that happened lately when I installed the Substratum Theme manager and set a theme for the first time. Also I also didn't mentioned, first dry out your battery until it runs out and then charge it to full and don't leave it to much time at 100% because it shortens the life span of your battery.
That's why my Sony Xperia P died in front of my hands(not exactly) because of the battery.
Reason? The phone was 3 YEARS old. Yes... And also, the phone had a screen crack and everything went through the screen. Aperently the phone had a lot of oxigen in it so it sofocated and the battery was ready to explode. But luckily it didn't so, he passed away.
And performance, this was the main part that I almost forgot. After a month of using, I think it was the time he was slowing down and doing some weird things and so on (even this isn't an official build but, there you go)
So watch out for the battery for most of the phones, the performance and the KeyMaster files of the stock ROM that you had before
Also, another question: is it worth it to go back to the stock ROM or just reinstall the custom ROM aka factory resisting my phone?

I'm using substratum and many apps running in background and performance is pretty good just like battery life, because I'm using my MiniX Engine
Try it and you will see better performance, multitasking and battery life…
And if you want you can get even better performance, but then battery life will be not so good, just go to advanced options and change performance mode, on each boot it set to poversaving mode, but you can change it to balanced or performance mode…

Question Best kernel for battery life?

Hey, I'm looking for a kernel that gives great battery life and performance at the same time. I currently have installed a custom OS in my phone, so it's not running stock, but a port of the S21FE, you may already know it since it's for this device.
Any suggestions are accepted
Hi,
I'm not actually using any custom kernel for that purpose but I'm using NCX custom rom : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-port-oneui5-1-ncx-s21fe-rom-sm-a528b.4526805/ and I can confim that it's really great for everythng and for battery life as well.
If you are in mind to try a custom rom, yo ucan do that and check by yourself !

You could debloat further NCX rom in order to maximize battery life by using https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...mate-app-manager-debloat-tool-tweaks.4147837/. BTW, if this is not enough you have no choise but to try the custom kernel and see if it helps https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/kernel-12-13-a528b-n-mesas-custom-kernel-r5.4490653/
