With so many Rom options available for the Oneplus 3 it becomes difficult for the users to decide which rom is best for which purpose. For example , Resurrection Remix ROM is the best in terms of customization options. I am looking for a ROM that has the best battery life. So any suggestion guys?
Thanx
I've got pretty awesome battery life with the resurrection remix ROM.
The differences are about max 30mins more screen on time. With dash charging i dont want to sacrifice the smoothness over battery life since it charges really really really fast. So all roms have theirs advantages and disadvantages . Flash rom. Back it. Flash again. Try them all and find the one who fits you. My shoes maybe wont fit in your feet . So youll have to find the right "shoes" yourself

good point bro
Just install multirom. Put the ROM you liked the most on the system partition and if you want to try a new one just install that on the internal memory, that way you can test it without loosing or restore Everytime your android. But for me I like RR the most right know. Also you can customize it on also everything.
It depends on one's personal taste. But i am a stock oos liker so i come to use Freedom Os on my op3.Freedom os is basically stock rom with some polished additions. It has a beautiful AROMA installer. Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/development/rom-freedomos-1-0-t3409348
Sultan just released his op3 rom. I've had for a month as a beta tester and it's been fantastic.
I confirm what other users said, I tried the last 3 days resurrection remix ROM (the one with ElementalX Kernel), and the battery life is really increased. I don't know if it is because of the rom, or the kernel. With my usage (Whatsapp Chrome Youtube), i'm now at 2,5 hours Screen on Time with 70% battery, when usually i was at 50% at this usage.
Anyway, also with 50% @ 2,5 SOT i was happy anyway to finish everyday.
I just don't like the camera app
I will try to ask here because i don't know if is good to open new thread. Do you know guys if it is possible to flash the stock camera in any other ROM? It is really good, and the 3rd party app are not really good compared to the stock one.
Thanks
Bye

No you can't flash stock camera on any other CM/AOSP based roms.
Someone ( Too lazy to search ) is trying to port it.

Hello everybody.
I've rooted and modded the Samsung Galaxy W of my girlfriend but now i'm facing a lot of strange battery issues: the battery drains really fast and she hates it.
I've tried CM9 RC6 and SlimBean but the problem is still here. I've got no time to waste on trying 20 ROMs so i'm asking you a suggestion.
She was really excited about the stock ROM. It was fair enough for her, apart from the bloatware that couldn't be uninstalled and some random reboots and freeze.
So, i'm searching for something like that:
Great battery life
Stable and reliable ROM
Possibly CM based or AOSP
In my opinion, a CyanogenMod 7 would be great, but i can't find it for the SGW.
Could you please help me?
Thank you!

Slim-3.1.0 Ancora 12/06/12 Unoffical with standard kernel (or with Fofivo as the other user said). Noted!
I'll wait for more suggestions before wiping and flashing again. I wanna be sure this time..

Stock one is awesome and better battery life
And if you want more ram use forfivo but battery life will be less than with stock one
What about those ones?
77ROM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2166571
AOSP - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102599
SlimICS - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2132748
They seems pretty basic too.
I've checked Paranoid Android and Pac-Man too but i think they've got too much stuff that i don't need and she won't use.

from those 3 links i prefer aosp..and without mods..for launcher just use nova/apex..
and for my suggestion try cm9rc7..

My honest advice:
Do not consider anything except Stock ROM with Value Pack or CM9.
Its not that those other coders are not talented. But - it's like with those small, heavily tuned / modified Honda Civics driving around: Their owner / creators and other enthusiasts love them for their custom mods, but you really could/would not give such a car to your girldfirend, mother, or whatever.
sooner or later you run into problems that will never be fixed, nothing for daily usage by a non-IT-person.
With beta 6, i guess you mean RC6?
Battery lasting, the missing fm radio and a sometimes not-100%-stable camera would be the only drawbacks i see for it.
Performance and overall fluidity is at least one class over the stock rom, really remarkable.
Maybe there will be better battery performancee with CM9 in the future, as it is not really clear atm, what causes the impacts.
But i think its unlikely that it will ever reach the Stock ROM under this aspect, as the new features are simply likely to consumer more cpu cycles then before.

CM9 RC6 was actually my first choice, because a friend of mine is using it without any problem. Anyway, i've experienced the huge battery drain even with CM9 RC6.
I can give a try to CM9 RC7 but i'm wondering: wouldn't it be better to choose a ROM with the 2.x kernel?

Yes, i meant RC6, sorry.
Sadly, battery performance is crucial for my girlfriend. Anyway, i just want a "normal" battery drain; what i'm experiencing is a very massive battery drain, totally abnormal.
Would you suggest me a Stock ROM with Value Pack? Maybe it's the better choice...
for me battery drains so fast because of to many apps..just install apps only for daily use..
yeahh i can see some of us back to 2.6..
rc7 impress me..see the ss..with stock battery(old one)..

I think the same but she's just like 20 apps, Pinterest, Instagram, GoogleReader, Dolphin, GMail, and stuff like this.
Regarding your screenshot, 17% left after 10 hours is not so great.
This is her phone now:
Can i install a 2.x kernel on CM9 RC7?
like i told you before..i use my old battery and stock 3.0kernel rc7..my battery usually last no longer than 5-6hrs..
you got 16hrs..that better than mine..
if you want 2.6 kernel i think it is better to install cm9 rc2..

Do you mean that you actively use the phone for 6 hours or what?

Hello all,
i just received my order of this phone. Got a good deal on it. Going to be giving it as a gift. My previous experience with android 5.0.2 was it was broken. Is it good on this phone? Its already on it, i was just hoping the memory leaks aren't an issue anymore. Otherwise im fine rooting and romming (thats possible to do with this phone via htc dev unlock right?), but if thats the case what is the best sense ROM for battery life? Thanks in advance! Any other tips or recommendations, feel free to let me know.
Have had the phone for a year and a half and let me tell you, it just rocks. Haven't had any problems with it. Can't say much about official roms because I've ran custom ones since lollipop, but I never felt the phone lagging or struggling to run an app. Battery is good enough for my usage (moderate use with a little gaming).

Great to hear! Was there something wrong the lollipop firmware that caused you to switch ROMs? If there's a chance my fiancee won't be happy with the newest stock ROM its on, then I'm perfectly happy unlocking it and flashing a custom ROM. She likes Sense though but I imagine there is no shortage of custom Sense based ROMs. Battery life woild be number 1 priority for a custom ROM though. Any tips?

No, nothing wrong, I switched to custom roms for the features and for better battery life. As a matter of fact, the best battery I had was with kitkat (over 4 hours sot vs less than 4).
I'm one of those who loves sense, so I can't say much about gpe, but I've read that it works fairly well.
Right now I'm running ICE Sense rom and it works flawlessly. Good battery, smooth and fast.
Hi I am facing a problem in my z2 plus which I purchased this January, I root the phone in march and then installed custom ROMs on a daily basis, I liked to try out the different ROMs available for my set, then I noticed that the battery life of my phone was decreasing, I thought it was because of a single custom ROM but no custom ROM gave me the perfect battery life, so if I install stock ROM will my battery performance be like it was
if you have no problem in using custom rom then use Aex 5.4+ pico gapps + nameless kernel.. this combo will give you best battery back up.. from next time onward if you wanna ask a query .. post in the query section.. not in this section
No necessarily. MIUI and ZUI has a better battery performance because this has a own saving mode. Yo always can tray to rom + Custom Kernel + tweeks , is no t magic, you must try the best combination for you specific use.

Try an app called AccuBattery. Check how is the actual condition of the battery.
Any Lithium-ion battery lose their capacity with charging cycle. So more we charge battery, less backup it gives.
Battery makes say, 20-80% is a sweet spot to save much of the battery wear n tear !! Since most of the charge cycle damage happen between 80-100%.
I am no expert, just shared few points which I leant by reading here n there. So wait for other expert to comment :fingers-crossed:

Hi, i've recently purchased an used z2 plus, and since it's the weekend and packages can't be shipped the vendor (good guy) told me he will flash a custom rom if i ask him to do so.
I have zero experience with custom roms and i'll probably keep the one he'll flash for a while, i'd like one based on android oreo and if possible that supports ota for a bit of future proofing.
My main concerns are heat and battery life, is LineageOS 15.1 good? Or would you recommend a different one?
Thanks!

If you're a normal user don't flash any rom. Atleast for a week after that decide to flash the rom. (If you're not statisfied with stock rom)
You can easily flash the custom rom with the help of xda members and YouTube.

thanks prince, but after browsing the forum for a while no one seems to likes the stock rom, i'm also fairly nervous at the thought of flashing it myself haha, and since the vendor is so kind to do it for me i'd like to give it a try!
a nougat based one is also fine if it means more battery or less heat

actually stock rom has ugly ui. Otherwise you can use it and yes custom rom has more performance and better backup but you won't be satisfied with single rom, once you start flashing custom rom you will flash infinite time different different rom( it's my personal experience:laugh and you won't be satisfied completely.:silly:
If you absolutely want a stable custom rom, I'd recommend something like Ressurection Remix 6

yes, try latest aex. Overall performance is better among all.
If I were you, I'd probably stay on stock. Considering that you said you feel nervous about flashing etc. There's not scary about it though, really.
Oreo = heat, 4 5 hours of battery
I am on nougat = 8+ hours of battery life. I have gotten to 9hours exactly in the past.
Can't really recommend an Oreo ROM, but Jaguar is recognized to be REALLY good and the developer is quite active.
AEX 5.* = Heat.
I am on AEX 4.4 (and I've tried all of the bigger ones), just switched to Heliox kernel (from 15.10) + AKT (advanced kernel tweaks) which basically gives me tramendous control over how my battery is used up. I just reset my battery stats, so AccuBattery will take awhile in order to calculate an accurate projection, but I am expecting to 9 and half to hopefully 10 hours of screen on time. I don't play games though.
The latest is not always the best.
If you want to take control of your phone, to be able to not see any ads on your phone, not waste data on such spam - custom ROM is the rout. If you don't care all that much, keep it stock.

AKT is a must. Akt = 9+ hours sot normal use for me (browsing, messaging, a few phone calls, music), 10+ hours if mostly reading. I've opened a thread about AKT.
And sun cooling. Sun cooling uses some whatever fancy way of helping us keep the temp down (I don't understand too much), for me it is quite noticable when charging, but the consensus seems to be that it works well.
And also keep the background processes to a minimum (make use of appops to adjust permissions + forcedoze + maybe greenify) so your phone doesn't have at all issues going into deep sleep, my deep sleep is 99%, of screen off time, I'd drain 1% overnight for example, when I set it aside deep sleep is rock solid.
That's what I've found to be the most useful tips, I began the same journey as you awhile back, that's my second rooted phone.
Dual speaker mod is pretty great. That's the best sounding phone that have heard personally. As with any phone, the mid highs are exaggerated, have to be tuned down. Use the stereo option when flashing. I can guarantee you that you'll get as good results if you mirror my settings (and slightly adjust them to your preferences), screenshots attached. Don't go too much over -4.4db, you can go max to -2.0 (with my settings & EQs) and listen to music at maxed out levels totally 100% safely.
Dude go for AEX 5.2 25 DATE build...which is the best in oreo based roms...the main aim of this build is performance......and as per gaming this is the best of among all nougat and oreo based roms i know some of nougat fans boys ready restrict me..but one's you stick with aex 5.2 you never look back...trust me...once give it try....
When you purchase a phone, new or old, first have some experience with the stock device. Specially with used stuff, its way more important.
Custom ROM is designed to be used for user specific modification requirements.
I am not saying your vendor is planning to cheat you but a custom ROM with unlocked bootloader plus root can allow masking any issue present on the device.
Buy bone stock. Use it for couple of week to see if all device function are working as per manufacturers specifications !!
This also allows you to understand your own requirements for a custom ROM. Because this bring us to your question, future proofing.
No ROM is future proof, all roms are fruit of volunteering effort of lot of individuals. Secondly all ROMs have some good things are some bad, so only thing is future proof is to learn your self the steps needed for installing a custom ROM.
Search XDA for following steps and topics related to custom ROM installing.
1. Bootloader unlocking (dedicated thread present).
2. Downloading and installing TWRP
3. Downloading and flashing a custom ROM along with GApps.
You may need to switch between few roms to find what you feel best for your usage.
But before all this, spent couple of weeks with the bone stock device while you research here in XDA about those topics and discuss as you feel clearing doubts !!
Note:- if vendor is refusing to sell bone stock device, it's better no to buy it.
What NaXal said is right.. Custom ROM can be used to hide issues with phone by saying this feature is not support in custom ROM ++ also hide malicious software for capture personal info banking info.. Etc.. Buy phone stock ROM locked bootloader.. Root layery
try AEX5.5+NamelessKernal+thermal Mod

Dual speaker mod is pretty great. That's the best sounding phone that have heard personally. As with any phone, the mid highs are exaggerated, have to be tuned down. Use the stereo option when flashing. I can guarantee you that you'll get as good results if you mirror my settings (and slightly adjust them to your preferences), screenshots attached. Don't go too much over -4.4db, you can go max to -2.0 (with my settings & EQs) and listen to music at maxed out levels totally 100% safely.

Dude Flashing Info pls
I've been using AEX 5.2 for a quite a long while now and I want to switch to something better. What I really need is just good battery life as I don't game at all. I've also never used rebel ROMs before so if you're recommending them please do tell me where I can find guides to start.
Thanks!
I think you should give AEX 6.0 a try (if you are into for pie ROMs). For better battery life do install a custom kernel. I'm currently using moxie kernel which gives me around 5hrs of SOT on normal usage.

Any other alternatives besides aex?

Try toxyc. A feature comolete rom without the hassle. Simple, elegant and fast with a great battery life. But there are more great roms out there. This one works best for me after using bootleggers and jaguar.
