Mobile network battery drain - Moto G5 Questions & Answers

I`m having an issue with network standby, it drains a lot of battery,
I tried a lot of rom, clearing cache, restore network settings, also with a custom kernel but nothing. At the moment im running asopextended 5.4 with alize kernel v4 but the battery consumption percentage of network standby is almost similar to the screen consumption percentage. I`ve no idea.
(I apologize in advance for my English)

Suspend process cpu usage

after flashing android revolution HD 2.0.9 and the recommended radio Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF , i noticed more cpu usage by system process suspend , and its draining battery so far i've looked everywhere and couldnt get any helpful answer.
i installed after full wipe flash , cleaned everything possible but still i have toe same problem.
i faced this once when i applied the 1.72 OTA but it was resolved after factory resetting the phone twice (dunno why it didnt resolve after the 1st reset).
please any help from the experts is much much appreciated. thx
Have you reset battery stats?

i did wipe batterystats with CWM recovery , or u mean manual batterystats.bin delete ? will it make any difference ?
Solved
Im sharing my humble experience with battery and cpu usage in this rom , well suspend process and battery/CPU usage went normal now thank god, i was getting paranoid about it. (used to be around 10%-30% usage on idle and draining battery).
What i did was charging the phone full to 100% till battery monitor widget stopped recording charges, then i wiped battery stats using CWM recovery. so after a few hours of monitoring i noticed idle cpu usage is around 1%-3% no more
battery drain is around 1%-2% per hour now.
I do still have 3D gallery and htcsense account active.
ROM : Android revolution HD 2.0.9 (2.2.1 based)
Radio : Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_SF
SetCPU 245-1228 ondemand governor , no profiles.
Wifi + mobile network + gps active + autosync + 4 email accounts syncing
Using many apps and widgets syncing at 1hr-4hrs interval.
I recommend anyone facing same problems to do as i did.

[Q]Completely wipe phone

Hey, I'm trying to fix my battery drain during light use. Having screen on for not even 5 minutes eats around 2% of my battery. I've calibrated, gone through many different ROMs [GB(CM7,MIUI,Sense) and ICS] with full wipes(format and wipe). leading to my question in hand... how do I completely wipe my phone? I visit the wifi settings and see a wifi history that were from a pretty long time ago(before wipes). This leaves me thinking I have not fully wiped my phone in between flashing. Does the google account save wifi history or something? Thanks for any tips!
My problem still persists any help is appreciated

You seem to be wiping your phone correctly. The WiFi settings are backed up under the Google account and are restored when you add the account again. It also backs up other settings, wallpaper, and app data of certain apps. Here's an easy way to fully wipe your phone (including the SD card app files in .android_secure) - http://tinyurl.com/66fc8og
It's called super wipe script and it is from the Android Revolution HD ROM thread, thanks to mike1986.
Sometimes the battery loses it's ability to hold charge after sometime. This happens when the battery is quite old or due to various reasons that I don't know. You'll need to get a new battery then.
On the ROM side, a good ROM+kernel combo gives the best battery life. Instead of using a plethora of apps to save battery, finding the right ROM & kernel combo and choosing a good CPU governor and min-max frequency settings will give you much less battery drain. I don't use any battery saving apps, but I run a great ROM (CM7.2 RC1) with an awesome kernel (LorDModUE 8.9b7), with smartassv2 governor running 122-1152 Mhz and a few build.prop tweaks.
You can try out my combo and see if you're getting any better battery life. The max I've gotten recently is 14 hours of heavy use with 4 hours of screen on time, wifi on for 75% of the time and a lot of web browsing and video watching. I usually keep my phone in 2G mode and only change to 3G when I need to use the internet. 3G drains the battery really fast. On average I get around 13 hours heavy use, 1 day medium use and more than a day of light use (with mobile data off unless when necessary). I get around 1% per hour drain in standby.
You can try this ROM VictoryMod by victoryo. It has my same ROM+kernel combo I've mentioned before + build.prop tweaks. Change the CPU governor to smartassv2 with 122-1152 Mhz frequency. It gives great battery life.
Among the Sense ROMs, Android Revolution HD with klquicksall's kernel and LeeDrOiD HD with LeeDrOiD's kernel give awesome battery life.
Thanks for the reply! I greatly appreciate it. As for my ROM, I've been using the latest LeeDroid, but the battery drain seems to be happening across all the ROMs I've tried recently. I never install battery saving apps, and I keep default kernels and settings. The problem is probably with my battery, I've had this phone since last May, so almost a year. I'll see if I can get this problem sorted out. Thanks again!

Anyways, have you filled your sd card up by anychance?
i ask as i notice massive battery drains if i have less that 1gb left on the card, the phone becomes hot and sluggish.
it runs slower than android 1.5 on the g1, and is impossible to use. once i managed to delete the files it took my phone about a hour to stabilize again.
just a thought
Wipe all caches and then wipe your battery stats.
Then give your phone a few charge cycles for the battery to stabilize. Things will definitely improve.
i'm not filled the sd card and ok i can try to wipe all caches (already did about 10 times .. lol but why 2 days ago with 6.1.0 all worked fine and yesterday when i flashed the 6.1.1 battery drain is heavy and even if i go back to 6.1.0 battery drain still persist.. it's strange very strange..
you must have something running in the background which is keeping your phone awake even when your phone is screen off. go to the thread here download the app and fully charge your phone again and use it as normal and keep checking the app specially in the partial wakelocks and see what drains the battery the most..it will be the first thing on the list.
and then when you check the screenshots post them in that thread to get some more help and explanation on what is eating your battery
i'll try with the app but the thing is strange because i've the same apps installed than before this happening
hi,if your android rooted, try "One Power Guard" download from onexuan.com,It can help you extend battery life .

Excessive Battery Drain due to Android System

Guys please help me out...
I'm facing serious battery drain since yesterday. Was previously on ARHD 21 till yesterday...but observed increased battery drain during the night...battery reducing by 1% per minute in idle conditions...found the phone completely discharged in the morning...i thought maybe something has gone wrong with the ROm so wiped clean my phone using ARHD script...then flashed new boot image and installed ARHD 22....
unfortunately...the problem still exists...another important symptom...excessive overheating of the phone, especially near the camera...
in the battery stats section, Android System, Android OS are the top two with combined consumption of more than 70%...i have no clue why this is happening and hasn't stopped even after a superwipe and fresh rom installation....is there a more stable kernel that i can flash? please help me
Update: I moved to Blade ROM and the problem still persists...can it be that there's a problem in my sd card content?
Android System covers a lot of processes, use an app like better battery stats or gsam battery monitor to determine which services/processes exactly are causing the drain. If you've flashed a new kernel then the most important thing to do is wipe the dalvik cache, failing to do that can cause drain/fc errors in its own right.

I went to recovery and cleared the dalvik cache but the problem still exists...the phone is constantly hot and battery is draining like anything...i'm installing better battery stats...can you guide me as to how do i locate the problem using the app?
The app will give you options to check battery usage either by app, process, or partial/full wakelock i.e. what process wakes the phone up from deep sleep. If it's constantly hot then it seems like some process is constantly running or unable to stop, for example if you restore an app like facebook from a previous rom it may be constantly trying to sync without authorisation, etc.
Check out proccess and i happen same problem, but i see its problem with wifi receive signal, its forced the battery wifi have bad receive signal.
I think its related at problem hardware (wifi with bad signal), battery is very hot and turn off wifi and come normal temp.

I am having the same problem after upgrading to ARHD 31.2 battery drains quickly while I am using internet.

[Q] Battery Drain in Custom ROMs

I actually thought a lot and tried 2 custom roms but the battery drain is beyond acceptable. First was the Carbon ROM, I really love the ROM and its features, but I lost about 17% charge while I was asleep. Thats some standby battery drain. Worst of all I even had the phone underclocked and had deep sleep on, still no use. The phone keep draining a lot in standby.
Then I tried CM, but that also gave pretty much the same result, I lost 15% yesterday night. Even with max frequency set to 1.7Ghz and the deep sleep Xposed module installed.
Nothing seems to be going well, do Xposed modules take a lot of toll on your battery life? I usually choose to add Keepchat, Headsup display, Nexus navbar and wifikey modules.
Could it be the Xposed or was it cause the ROMs were 4.4.4?
And if possible I would like to remain on Carbon, but for the battery drain I think i'll have to try some stock based roms or go back to proper stock again. I hope someone using any of the custom roms could help me out with my battery drain issue
Thank you.
I have ds battery saver and i set my own configuration and on stock rom in standby mode my battery drain 1%/h. Try this program and tune cpu to 1 core active in deepsleep and 1h interval in wivh my apps are frozen for 1h my wifi turn off and mobile data for 1h and after that my phone give permission to apps etc for 1minute to synchro etc. At night from 23 to 6 i have set that nothing can synchro everything depend from your settings
