Mic death after battery substituction - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hi all.
My HTC 10 battery was so poor that I decided to go to a technical to change. After he changed my the battery, the main microphone was death. I can speak to the phone only with handsfree function. I taked back the phone by the shop, they opened again but all the cables are connected correctly and mic still won't work. Why?
Thanks.

- because they damaged the mic
- because they damaged a resistor
- because they damaged a transistor
- because they dropped your phone
- because they made a short circuit
- because they damaged the electrical circuits
We weren't there, we can't tell what's wrong.

mapping hardware for this device

Hi all,
As i started servicing all pdas for a couple of monthes (only as a hobby, i fix them for friends and relatives), i came across one BA that gave me some trouble.
i got it to replace its LCD that was broken as it was dropped and thats very simple to replace it, so far so good. now it has two main problems :
1. no sound from speaker (even when in speakerphone mode), but there is sound in the stereo earphones (i plugged to the connector by the sd card slot). - i can only assume that a bluetooth handsfree device it will also work.
2. although the backup battery is fully charged, if i remove the main battery even for a brief second, when turned on, the BA acts as if i made a hard reset.
as for solving the problems :
1. using a digital multimeter, i managed to track the conductivity from the internal speaker through its connector, flat ribbon to the connector which connects to the main pcb - so there is no contact problem from the speaker to the main pcb.
using the help from WIKI, i went to site that has the list of all components and their description - the IC that is responsible for audio amp is a MAXIM's MAX4410 which is a stereo headphone driver. a quick look at its charasteristics and typical configuration and i understood that (assuming this is the IC that drives the internal speaker) the speaker should have one pin which is ground and the other goes to the amplified signal from the IC. neither one of the pins showed it has GND to it. so maybe there is a bad GND line to the connector.
2. regarding the backup battery issue i do not know what makes this problem.
I am sharing this info with you all with two ideas in mind :
1. to resolve my problem and know those devices hardware better.
2. because i am quite a while watching xda-developers and WIKI and i got the feeling that a lot of eforth is given to the software side of all those pdas (which is greate!!! keep going, this work helps lots of people and it shows al thos mega corps they are not the only ones), but the hardware is a bit forgotten and left behind. let me tell you this, there are many VERY simple mini projects i made useing electronics (i am an electronics engineer in my profession) that made my life easy . i am now investigating those instruments hardware as i have several ideas to develope useful accessories to my pda (like an external IR transciver to control IR devices like TV,DVD and to communicate with my laptop, and some other ideas) and i believe we can do the same info sharing as done on software side but on the hardware side.
I will thank any ideas, thoghts or commentsabout this matter. Yol.

speaker not working

my phone speaker has stopped working, can only use on speaker phone. Any ideas or know where i can get spare parts.
i really dont see htc getting spacial custom speakers made for their phones it would be too expensive and there really would be no reason to
so if i were you i would

take apart my device
and get the part nr from the speaker or simply remove the speaker
and take it to a electronic store and get one like it
The speaker on my mini s stopped working shortly after using headphones in the headphone socket.
I googled the problem and read somewhere (can't remember where) that a solution might be to "blow" into the earphone socket.
They couldn't be serious, could they??? So I blew, and blow me, it works ok again. Maybe muck gets into the socket. As I say, it worked for me.
Headset connector causing issues with internal speaker..
Before you start pulling apart your unit (and voiding any warranty left), make sure to try a bit of Electrolube contact cleaner into the headset connector (and a few insert / removes of the headphones).. The little metal ground pin seems to deform and lock 'out' sometimes.. causing the PDA to get stuck in 'headset inserted' mode...
Unfortunately the only way to fix this if the connector is bent is often to bend the connector back into place (open the unit).
Good luck!

[Q] Broken headphone jack replacement

Recently my headphone jack had a strong yank on it (headphone cord was stuck on something) and as a result the jack is now damaged and sound only comes out of one side of headphones/speakers plugged into it. At first I thought it was the headphones (I have had this happen to other headphones with other devices and this was the case) but upon testing the headphones themselves on my PC (they work) and other, working headphones on my phone (they have the exact same issue) I've been forced to come to the conclusion that my phone headphone jack.
Does anyone know what the cost of getting this fixed would be through manufacturer warranty? (The phone is under limited warranty).

You're much better off buying the part and replacing it yourself. You can buy the part for max at 10 dollars and it might even come up with the screwdriver to open up the phone. It's very easy to fix things yourself for the S3. Youtube "Samsung Galaxy S3 Disassembly & Assembly - Drop Test Repair" and that video shows you step by step how to take it apart and replace any part that you would need to.

After display replace speaker won't work if mother & daughter board touch each other

After display replace speaker won't work if mother & daughter board touch each other
Yesterday I replaced the screen of my LG G3 titan black (D855 screen) everything worked perfect but after reassembling and turning it on the android showed me that the headphones are connected (which they are not) and the speakers therefor doesn't work. Also the mic is not recording.
If I disassemble the bottom 4 screws and push the mainboard away from the back of the phone towards the screen using the micro usb plug the sound is working.
I looked closer at it and realised that as soon as the mother board ist touching the small daughter board the headphones show as connected.
I wonder what I can do about it?
Put a non conducting tape between the two boards?
Remove the daughter board?
Anything else?

WiFi/Bluetooth replacement?

Hey (first post!)
I was replacing USB charging port flex cable by myself (and for whatever reason decided to unscrew the main board as well, but put it back in place right after). After I put everything together I noticed that my WiFi signal is extremely low. Also tried connecting to my Bluetooth headset but it has very weak signal and can operate properly within 1m distance, otherwise it starts stuttering and finally disconnects.
So I figured that I might have damaged WiFi/Bluetooth board and need to replace it. However I cannot find any spare parts for it anywhere. I only found one for OnePlus 5 but it seems that most of the parts are different between 5 and 5T.
Any suggestions please?
