Hello my Friend. it is very easy:
1. Install TWRP - https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...p-2-8-6-1-unofficial-sm-t800-805-807-t3074633
2.Install magisk for root https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445

So you get root by installing TWRP, but the problem is that you can't install TWRP without root.
Trying to de-bloat my parents' Tab S so they can actually, you know, have some free space on the stupid thing.

Total rubbish.
You don't need root to install twrp at all.
Also exactly what space do you think you're going to gain by rooting?

This is a Nexus. You have open bootloaders and can boot what you like.
If you sit down and bother to learn your tools (fastboot, adb, etc) you have root by default without needing anyone to package it for you.
This is what it shows in the CWM window

You'll need to use fastboot to flash a recovery.
Please refer to the Jellybean Information for more information on how you can do that.
i have a fire phone that i installed safestrap 4.01 for customized rom installation,
but i now want to sell the phone and want to reset the phone to the original stock rom.
however, even after i flashed the stock rom, i still have this splash screen of safestrap that shows two buttons: recovery and continue at the bottom.
so how can i remove this splash screen?
i searched quite extensively, but could not find a solution that works....
thanks!
It's quite easy and fast to accomplish (with a rooted device):
You need to have the safestrap app installed, within the app ---> tap on "uninstall recovery", reboot to see the result and finally remove the safestrap app from the device.
Afterwards, you can either unroot your device or sideload Fire OS again, if you want to sell it "untampered".

It sounds like you've got a usable phone again, which is good! From your screenshots, you're on the latest firmware, which is also good.
What you'll need to do to achieve root is install the latest TWRP and use the Android 6 compatible SuperSU (the systemless install).
You can find the latest TWRP here: https://twrp.me/devices/htconem9.html
You can find the correct SuperSU here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

This app seems to require Android 5.0 and up.
If your device currently has Android 4.4.2, it cannot be installed.
Likely your only option is to install a custom Rom Like CyanogenMod 13, if possible.
Thanks, Can you guide me how to install and what to do?
First I try to install TWRP and root the device with magisk (succeed).
After that I realized that my phone can't open some apk like m banking and the others and than I try to unroot by uninstall the magisk.
After the magisk gone, I try to verify root status and busybox status with root checker pro (the result is root access is not installed but the busybox still has been installed correctly)
I try to check again with RootBeer Sample and the result is my device is rooted.
Suddenly I flash the ROM with the original ROM using ODIN.
But still, I can't open some apk.
Anyone can help my problem?
Thanks for helping me..
My device condition for now is :
1. Fresh Original ROM Android 11 installed with ODIN
2. Bootloader was locked
3. There is no magisk app or I'm not installed magisk for root my device but still my device detected Rooted Installed
4. I still can't open some apk file like m banking
5. I'm using original recovery
