Anyone have suggestions for this device when it comes to screen protectors? Sorry if this isn't the right area to post this question but.... it's a relatively new model and doesn't seem to have it's own forum section unless I'm mistaken!
Tried a film protector and it bubbled and scratched extremely easy, looked awful after just one week of use.
Ordered a glass protector, only to discover today that the screen on this actually is curved slightly..... I could rant about the poor design choice of that, but that's not the point. The protector doesn't fit well on it and leaves the sides of the protector sort of unstuck, so there's an unsightly stripe down the center. I removed it and the screen is currently bare, because it just looked absolutely terrible.
The phone itself is great, just that there's not very good cases for it yet (that I've seen), the one I have isn't exactly going to do much to protect the screen if it faceplants. And the protectors I've tried have been terrible.
What do any of you recommend for this? Will I have to go film? And are there good film protectors that perhaps are more resistant to bubbling/scratching? This is the Sony XA2 H3123, not the ultra.

I'd like to know how the Imak one works, I don't think I saw any reviews of it when I was trying to order one. I got a cheapie from amazon first, it was glass and didn't accommodate the curved glass at all, causing it to be about 1/4 inch short on both sides from the edges, and even then the edges didn't stick.
right now I'm using (amazon link) http://a.co/de99wiN and the glass is curved to fit the screen well, size is good...they only used adhesive in a ring around the edge it seems so you get a ring near edge of the screen. Was hoping selection improves later also.
also, I figure this probably belongs in the accessories not questions but I'm not a mod so...

screen on:
Particularly with the screen on, you can see a ring around the border of the screen. This appears to be the only location the adhesive is applied to hold the protector on the screen. It looks like some dust is working it's way through the camera hole and getting between the phone screen and glass protector.
This one did take 2 weeks to get to me direct from china, but this bothers me less than the one amazon had 1 or 2 day prime that left 1/4" unprotected around the edges. The price was ok, I'll probably look to replace this later down the road when there are some better options.

Hello,
I have placed order for the Basalguardz Ultra-Clear Anti-Fingerprint screen protectors. What attracted me the most is the very low price
compared to all screen protectors in the market, while still shipping with 3 films and all necessary tools to install on your phone.
Here is the unboxing:

Here is the protector on the phone:
Now, let me jump into the good stuff and bad stuff about this protector:
Pro's
1- Extremely cheap compared to any protector in the market, considering the fact that you get 3 films in one pack for the price of 2 films
by other providers.
2- Brilliant customer services, I only had to contact their head office in US and they set me up with a direct shipping off Hong Kong (As
as living in Middle East and it's way cheaper and faster to ship via HK mail).
3- Above average packaging with proper instructions on the pack and a packing slip for extra assurance that you get the right protector
before opening the pack.
4- Goes all the way to the edges, which is good in the sense that you got your screen fully protected.
Con's
1- The way the screen protector is installed is very weird: Normally other competitors will place "Remove to install" striker on the top on
the screen to allow for a better alignment above the earpiece and front facing camera. However, BasalGuardz decided to place that at the
bottom! Not sure why would that be considered a good idea! I had to remove the protector couple of times in order to properly
align in and end result, alot of dust got in between and my end install isn't the cleanest.
Here is a picture to explain:
2- Goes all the way to the edges, which is bad in the sense that you might have dust on the edges (especially at the bottom) since the
screen is curved and that could cause dust to slip in and screw things up for you!
3- The texture on the screen is very clear yet it feels very sticky and it doesn't necessary keeps the fingerprints off the actual surface,
still catch some oil and fingerprints (not very visible but still not as marketed).
Overall rating: 3.5/5
Would I recommand this? to be hoenst, I don't think so! beacuse it's very hard to align the protector with the peel happeing from the
bottom unless you are really a professional, not to mention that it's very easy to have fingerprints all over it so techinically speaking
they are selling you a product that doesn't do what it's suppose to do!
Let me know what do you guys think. Anyone else used it, shout out your short review!
Regards,,,
Thanks for the review. I would love a fingerproof protector but hate the blurry matte ones. Don't want to waste a bunch of money finding a good one.

Go get the SGP Oleophobic .. brilliant stuff ( still doesn't cover the majority of the screen which may look dodgy sometimes )
I emailed BasalGuardz with my review and this is this their reply:
Thank you.
That placing the tabs at the top was something that we probably need to be doing. It does indeed make it easier with this phone.
As far as the anti-fingerprint. It will certainly greatly reduce the fingerprints without the need for a matte surface, which some people do not like. Personally, I love the matte protectors. Others want more clarity. I just do not like the "sticky" feel of clear protectors.
It will not, however, keep every fingerprint off. It your hands are incredibly sweaty or dirty, then it would certainly not help in that case.
Thank you,

Yeah Trident did the same thing w/ their screen protectors putting the tab on the bottom.. stupidest thing I've ever seen.
You are complaining that they put the tabs on the bottom, really? Just stick a piece of tape on the top and start from there. Tape is a necessity when installing cling protectors like these anyways.
The idea of having the best and ultimate protection for our phones is great and luckily, X Gear had brought this to life with a tampered glass screen protector.
The screen protector was packaged up very nicely with its own separate box. A cleaning cloth was also included in the package.

Installation itself was really easy. What I did was peal of the first layer, which revealed the adhesive side, and aligned it properly according to the cutouts. After having it lined up, I just released the other portion of the screen protector. It stuck very nice and felt great.
The glass wasn't that thick at all; according to the website, it measures only .4mm thin. I had encountered a couple minor problems on my end, such as a decrease in touch sensitivity on the bottom half of the screen as well as a crack when I tried to rearrange the position of it. It might only be a defect with this particular screen protector but I am going to ask for a replacement and see if that helps at all.
After a couple weeks of using it, it provided a magnificent type protection that kept the actual screen's surface nice and clean, and I have to say it is worth the investment and trying it out.

I have noticed that while the outer surface of the screen protector seems to be very scratch resistant the side with the adhesive seems to be easily scratched. when applying the SP i noticed some lint on the adhesive side of the SP so i used the provided MF cloth to clean the screen upon installing the SP i noticed a slight scratch. Despite this one minor nuisance i find that i am EXTREMELY satisfied with the Fantom SP, almost everyone that has seen my phone with the SP on has no idea by look or feel that i infact have an SP on the phone until I mention to them that there is a Tempered Glass SP on it.
I should also add that it fits perfectly with out any interference to the SGP Ultra Hybrid case that I use.
Thanks for the review, I'm definitely going to try one out for myself.

Nice Review! I'm tempted to buy one now.
i know there are some people that don't seem to have issues, but i'd highly recommend against this protector. it kills the touch sensitivity on the bottom half of the screen and nav bar. i had to remove mine last week due to the sensitivity issues. looks like you pay for return shipping & 20% return fee, too, if you find you don't like it. read this thread:

I was wondering how screen protectors fit on the screen. All the screen protectors I look at mention that the screen has rounded edges. Does the screen round down right at the edge or is there a little space to add a screen protector properly?
I was wondering if it's like the iPhone. I know when I try to add a screen protector to an iPhone 6 there is no wiggle room because of the way the glassrounds off right at the edge of the "screen panel"

If you buy a good one, the screen protector ends at almost exactly where the glass curves away. I'm using Spigen's and they fit pretty nicely.

Does the glass curve away right at the end of the viewing panel/LCD screen or is there some space between the edge of the viewing panel and the curve.
It's hard to tell from the pictures and there are no stores close to me that have the HTC 10 on display so I can't even go look at one in person.

Here is a link to a thread over in accessories about the tempered glass screen protectors. A few people have gotten them but most, if not all, report halo.

Not sure if you can see them clearly tho. In the 3rd photo you can see where the screen protector ends. And that's almost where the glass starts to curve out.

I feel like white is more forgiving
Thanks for the pictures. I hat how companies are rounding the screens like that. Then the screen protectors can't cover the whole glass front.
I gave up on a tempered glass one for now and not a fan of PET, went with the Unicorn Beetle case which has a built on one and its decent. atleast the whole screen is protected. I don't use the fingerprint so I wish the hole for that wasn't there to prevent and dust from getting in there but o well. Its pretty tight against the screen. but its the plastic type which always wears out fast in my experience but its great for now.
I know i should i spent more moneys on screen guards for my new s8 plus but its all the money i left. my s8 plus was a gift so it was up to me to get a case and screen guard i bought a 5 pack of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAMSUNG-GAL...var=471508593356&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 i have not got them yet but from the ad they do not curve *just noticed that as i am posting this* i have not got them yet and i wanted to let people on a budget know of my find. i will post pics of the ones i get and how it works with my uag case. i dont have other cases to test as i just got the phone and i love uag cases. so i keep you all updated who might be interested in these cheap guards

Out of curiosity I too ordered these SPECIFICALLY because they do not curve. Of all the TGSP I've tried they all inevitably fail due to the lack of full screen adhesion (bar the Whitestone ones, but seriously....£45 for a screen protector?? Nah!) so would like to see how this one performs and if it affects touchscreen sensitivity at all.
Should be here next week so I too will drop an update to see how it is!

This thread makes me want to vomit.
When I ordered my Pixel 4, I ordered a few various screen protectors and cases to have ready when it arrived. I'm very happy to report that the first one I tried out has turned out so well that I just threw all the other cases/protectors in a drawer to collect dust.
Amazon Link ($7.99)
I installed the case first to use as a guide to install the protector and the end result is the most perfect protector install I've done on any phone, with perfect alignment and no dust trapped underneath. There is no "halo" line to be seen where the clear part of the protector meets the black border around the edges, either. I was quite worried about that.
I initially intended to use this protector (or another one) with a Spigen TPU case, but the case that comes with this protector is so good (with a slim snug fit and perfectly tactile button feel) that I have no desire to remove it. I love the combo so much that I decided to order another one to have as a spare in case they ever disappear from Amazon.
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with others who may be looking for full coverage protectors. Here are a few pics I took. Any dust seen is on top of the protector. Living in a brand new house, it's impossible to escape, unfortunately.

Sorry for the delay. The edges adhere with no issues. I haven't had any lifting at all. It's still perfect.
Full coverage protectors always seem to chop off a bit of the display. Usually noticeable in apps that have objects near the edges. How does this one fare?

I disagree. I have installed many screen protectors and this one does not confirm to the curved edges of the screen. The case is excellent though.
I bought it just today, waiting for it to arrive to me in Italy (about 10 days). From the photos I can see that they are a winning combination!
