Hi, after replaced the screen on my Mi5s i have gps lock issues. Looks like the signal is very very weak and most of times doesn't get fix.
Do you know which one is the connector?
The same problem... Did you find somewhat?

Where did you find it? I've searched on ebay but all seemed without the gps connector.

Okay, so I really need help with my Defy. A few days ago, when I was washing my Defy(yes I wash it), the usb covering came out and a little water went into the usb port. It was fine for an hour or two, but then the phone went into landscape mode and refused to budge. I was on CM7 and thought that there must be something wrong with it so I switched to the official Froyo. The problem was a bit better on Froyo but it remained as irritating. Now, when I press the home button, it takes me to the dock app. Also, whenever a call comes, it automatically puts it into speaker mode as if it was connected to the docking station.
Is there anyway in which I can possibly fix this? I really need help. :/
It's waterproof , but not up to that standard.....you might need to dry the parts before using it again.....
Try using a hairdryer
Herpderp Defy.

Did that quite a few times.
I think the usb area got affected the megnetic sensor for the docking which you're experiencing now.. I must be from the water penetration. Have you tried to uninstall the dock apk and see..

Obvious troll is obvious.
Okay, I installed CM7 for now. How do I go about fixing it from landscape mode?
I don't know if this has something to do with your problem, but have you tried recalibrating the compass?

Thanks but it did not work. I think that there's something wrong with the default orientation. Can you calibrate/reset that?

I think you should remove or uninstall the home dock apk as the magnet always triggered forcing your phone into lanscape.

There is no dock app on CM9. The phone is just stuck on landscape. It's the same thing with CM7.
Maybe this app can help you.
Although I would suggest you to disassemble the phone as much as you can and put the entire unit in tight raw rice container.
Next day, put it in the sun. (Just to make sure that there is no chance of water inside.)
P.S. : don't you have warranty left

Um, I want my phone to auto rotate again so that app isn't much help, but thanks anyway.
About the rice and sun trick, I did that yesterday but nothing came of it.
Also, I do have warranty left but I don't trust Motorola with my phone. Well, that's saying something but anyway. I'd like to give it a try and see if it's fixable at home but I may just be forced to give it in. Oh well.
Guys, reply please. :/

Have you checked which rotation options are selected at cm7 screen preferences?

Okay, so basically I've narrowed down the problem. It's something with the magnetic sensor as the phone thinks it's connected to a dock. I know this because whenever a call comes, it goes to speaker and the orientation is stuck on landscape like on a dock. Now, there is NO dock app on CM7/CM9, so is there anyway by which I can calibrate the magnetic sensor or is there any other fix?
Bump, really need help here.

Sounds like your ph is fubar ^^
You could just tell everyone it's a small tablet ;-)
& never wash your ph again :zoinks:
Okay, I've managed to fix most of the problem by uninstalling the dock app and the dock service on MS2Ginger. However, calls still get directed to speaker. Is there any way in which I can fix it? Also, I need a more permanent solution to this if possible. Thanks.
I took it off the charging dock this morning and it now has some weird tearing help me please

i have experience with my old tablet, it is pernament but over time, as the water drains of, it will be a little better ... Anyway, in regards to certification IP 67, make RMA with your supplier ...
I'll put it in rice to see if that works. Hope so.
Is there a word for this issue?
ZE551ML
Seems to keep locking and unlocking itself every few seconds.
Seems to be an issue in the connection between the bottom and top parts of the mobo.
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.

it is some issue with bottom PCB and flex cable. put isolation tape under bottom pcb. so it do not connect to metal parts. tight all the screws.
go to setting > asus smart cover untick to disable it. if issue still persists. change sim flex and bottom pcb

Thanks for the reply.
Tried with the isolation tape and it still occurs.
Ordered replacement and I'll wait for it to arrive and then ask again if needed. Thanks

when replacement arrives. first replace only pcb see if works. if not then replace flex. though lot of chances it is flex. but test them both separately so we can rule out which one is culprit. do report back results

Gonna try that to see if it works. Maybe I'll get Lineage on it afterwards if it does or whenever I fix it.
Managed to flippin hard-brick it and I don't get vibration since placing the iso tape even after removing it. FML.
Gonna wait for the mobo and flex cable to arrive then continue.

Hey there,
I'm looking for the GPS antenna, but i can't find it. Can anyone send me a Picture from the antenna?
Here
Hey, i've already seen this, it is inaccurate. I need an accurate position from the GPS Chip
Hey, so anyone knows where is GPS antenna located? I'm asking, because after putting copper plate in case to prevent bootloop problem, GPS doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Hi,
user octavioromo and me had the same issue.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/general/mod-copper-heatsink-t3679209
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75586886&postcount=26
I could not use the copper shim because the gps issues and changed to 0,5mm thermal pad with thermal paste.
(the 1mm gave me a blue dot on the screen)
I tried everything, paper under the contacs on the backcase etc... no chance. only changing the copper shim to thermal pad fixed it for me.
i dont know why only some phones have this problem.
I had no GPS after removing the motherboard once. I fixed it by lifting up the little connectors that touch the back cover antennas. (I used tweezers) I guess I pushed some of them down when I removed the motherboard. I hope this information helps you....

This is for Nexus 5, not 5X.
The only way for Nexus 5X is to use thermal pad instead of copper :good:
Hi everyone,
I will explain as fast as possible : I have 2 OnePlus 3. One with a freeze problem (https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/help/strange-issue-op3-t3699715=) and the second one with damaged screen but everthing working. So what if I put the motherboard of the broken screen one in the model with the freeze problem. Do you think it can works ?
Thx for reading ! And sorry for the english.
Watch JerryRigEverything teardown videos and try it and keep us updated I'm curious of the result. It'll probably work because basically what you're going to do is changing the broken screen with a solid one. (Changing motherboard will be about the same i think.)
Yup, this has to work.

It has to work but when I tried to separate the screen Bloc with the metal case it was very very hard, I used too much power and broken the screen... That was crazy.
But I have to work.

I watched his video too, for me it was a LOT more resistant.
And finally I bought another phone (still OP3) and I'm still using it.
I tried to open the old phone again and I managed to do it using the jack connector, I used a screwdriver and levered in the jack connector (and the jack connector is still working).
