Consensus on Tempered Glass?? - Google Pixel 2 XL Accessories

Well our device has been out for about 6 months now, which should be enough time for the manufacturers to get their sh*t together.
I've been through all these threads, and I have not been able to decipher which TGSP is the community favorite. Can my fellow P2XLers weigh in?
Thanks guys!!

It seems like Whitestone Dome is. I just don't think it's worth the time and price. No TGSP for 5 months and not one micro scratch. I actually liked TGSP for what I believed was drop protection. It seemed to break before my screens broke. It could just be placebo and of course a strong enough drop would be possible to break the TGSP and screen.

Invisishield would be my vote.
Better coverage than the whitestone.

They had some loca issues and came up with better install videos. The product itself is excellent.

Quality wise it'll be the Whitestone. Only invisshield comes close.

I ordered these. No idea how good they are, but they arrive today. I'll give feedback tonight. I'm used to using Steinheil so I'm a bit disappointed by the lack of options for this so far. Everyone I find seems to be a cheap brand. I too, do not like wet apply ones.

That one sounds good and has good reviews. Can't wait to hear!
I'm using the one that came with my Trident Ageis case ATM, but have had really good luck in the past with Clarivue screen protectors. Have had them on 4 devices.
As jhnl33 stated, the "brilliant screen protector" by Power Support that is sold directly from Motorola's website is fantastic. I am a huge fan of Power Support screen protectors and have been using solely their products for the last several years. Very high quality, easy to apply (dry application), no noticeable reduction in image quality, and great tactile response. Not as cheap as many of the options out there, but I can assure you'll be satisfied
You can order the one available at Motorola's official website....there are good one...so it would not be a bad choice to go for them and they are too dry ones....
I use iSmooth protectors on all my devices including my X.

Brilliant does not. Anti glare does a little bit. It's much clearer than a typical matte screen protector, so while it degrades image quality less, it's also less fingerprint resistant than a typical matte protector.

Xtreme Guard screen protector

Just happen to search for Xtreme Guard screen protectors and found a 90% off discount code for the OnePlus One screen protectors. They have two options to choose from, the regular screen protector $6.99 each or HD $6.99, I used discount code Mega90off2 and only works if you buy 2 or more. Not sure how long it's valid for but I purchased 6 HD ones and paid only $4.19 free shipping. I've used Xtreme Guard in the past on other devices and it's pretty much a perfect fit. Happy shopping and hit the like button if this helped you!!!!!!!
thanks, I just ordered 3 of each kind for the $4.19. I've used xtreme on my gn2 and n5... they are ok..great for the money.

You're welcome anytime. Ya I used them for my Note 2, Note 3, Nexus 5. Hit the thanks button if this helped you =)
I purchased one for $1.05 earlier this month. IMHO, THEY SUCK! The cutout area for the speaker and camera does NOT stick. Lucky for me, I ordered a set of Illuminshield and they're great! It does a pretty good job on being resistant to finger prints. It still leaves some behind but overall I'm happy with this choice. I'm so glad I only paid $1.05 during July 4th special, other wise I'd ask for my money back from Extreme Guard.
Too bad about the shipping price in Europe. It does cost around $6 to get two screen protectors in Eastern Europe. I'd love one of those but I think I'll have to stick to the chinese screen protectors...at least for now. If someone can ship one or two of those screen protectors for a lower price, I'd love to have a private conversation.
Xtreme Guards has the worst screen protectors of any company. THE WORST....there's a reason they're always 90% off. Google it.
Ive gotten much much much better protectors from ebay for cheap.
Bought 6 pack for 2.99 shipped. Better fitting than xtreme guards (I think they die cut the protectors with a die that hasn't been sharpened in 20 years)

Been using XtremeGuard screen protectors on all my devices. They work absolutely fantastic. Never any issues with installation. If I had any issues with packaging during transport... They rushed out new ones.

i dont think the scratches will be on the actual guard, peal off the 1 and 2 layers and see.
yeah i've been told this over at the 1+ forums as well. But still doesn't help the shoddy cut. already held it up to my phone and there's a nice huge indent up at the top left corner. Looks like it'll be fine for now, but i'm also just debating on just waiting for any of my other ones to show up.
Just request a refund. I only got these since I'm waiting for my glass ones to arrive from the homeland.
Okay, got mine and it fits alright but it's badly but near the top so there will always be bubbles. They must use the dullest cutters in the world.
Yea i havent had much luck with any of their products outside of the iPhone Spartan Glass. What really sucked was i ordered 2 Spartan glass for my LG G3 and one for a Nexus 5 and both came in cracked. I had to email them. They refunded me which was cool, but kind of sucks. I guess its just best to go to a BestBuy and purchase the $49 zagg glass protectors.

Screen protector for a pleb like me!

Hello guys!
So I have ordered some hardened glass which ended really bad with all the bubbles and also collected alot of dust around the glass which just ended up badly. So now I am here and for everyday when I see if, it just gets me mad.
so now I am here - I need a screen protector that could be for the edges aswell but I do like hardened glass more than the thin' glass - but if there is any better please just say all the ideas!
What I need is to atleast be cheap (Not a rape of 75+$)
- Easy to mount on screen
- Should be really happy when I see no bubbles!
- And shipped to Sweden asap! So I dont need to wait months!
What do you guys have for me to recommend?

I have not yet picked up a screen protector, but the Whitestone Dome does appear to be the best currently available. Just be aware, it's not cheap, $45 USD on Amazon and a bit complicated to install if you are not careful. There are plenty of videos for installation, so make sure to watch those first. I will likely be getting one shortly, just got a case today.
Yeah. I refuse to Shell out the money and ended up paying more the multiple screens I've run through...the best so far was the Hero Shield but the bubbles are ridiculously difficult. I'd stick with the Whitestone.

I concur !! I love the feel, look and touch sensitivity of this protector. Price isn't cheap but neither is the quality of the protector. I gladly pay for a product that is worth the money.
I've heard a lot of good things and might consider this for my next screen protector (currently use Intelligent). Was just curious in what they charge for a replacement if it ever gets cracked? Also, I thought I saw somewhere that you actually have to mail the cracked screen protector back, wait for them to inspect it (and go without one for awhile) before they send a replacement.
Anyone know if that's true?

Zag Screen Protectors

Just a heads up for those wanting glass screen protectors, Zag is selling them now (unlike Google Store at time of writing) and not sure why but got a big discount. 2 of the Glass Elite VisionGuard+for*Google Pixel 5 for $75 after tax and shipping. They gave me a 30% off discount.
Probably get them cheaper later, but last time we got phones on release date (Pixel 2) we didn't get screen protectors until a week after the phones showed up. So this time we got cases and screen protectors right away.

Bro liquid glass is the way to go. I have been through a ton of glass screen protectors on the 2 XL and they all suck, even the expensive ones. I got liquid glass and never looked back. P5 might be different because the screen is flat, but I'm getting liquid glass anyway. You can always do liquid and throw a glass screen on top of it.

I had mine applied at Fixit Mobile, and I believe they use WowFixit. From what I have read, the products all use Silicon Dioxide as the main ingredient. I don't know that much about the product, except that it works well, it's not noticeable, and does resist fingerprints somewhat. It's not perfect for fingerprints, but I haven't got any scratches in about a year. I have heard that you should reapply after a year, so I probably need to reapply. I will do some research and make a post at some point. I plan to do liquid glass on my P5, so I should post something in the next 2-3 weeks. This is something I looked at recently.

If I'm being honest I've been less than satisfied with their product on my Pixel 2XL. I went through 3 or 4 via their warranty process and just gave up and went naked with a bumper case. Much happier, with minimal scratching after owning since release (preordered).
I'll always use a case because I abuse things but I am finding more and more that screen protectors aren't a necessity, even for someone who throws phones in backpacks etc when out on a trail.
Ordered one and it didn't sit down all the way. It wouldn't stay down on the lower right corner, despite no dust or anything. Ended up disappointed and moved on.
So this is definitely a "your mileage may vary" sort of deal. I purchased two of the zagg protectors, along with a pack of Spigen and Otomon tgsps. So I was prepared.
Anyhow, I did the shower trick installation to keep dust from floating around. First Zagg I used would not apply around the camera lens no matter what. Tried the second Zagg that I ordered and although there were bubbles initially, they went away after 20 mins or so. Perfect installation.
Long story short, you shouldn't have to buy two of a certain tgsp like I did in the event that one is defective, but doing so worked out in my case. Your first application may work correctly or it may not.
Edit:. Also the fitment is perfect. There is no rainbowing on the sides due to being cut short. Could the tgsp have been a little wider? Maybe, but would risk it lifting on one of the sides.

Question Testing other curved glass protectors on the 6pro

I have already tried a OnePlus 8 pro protector, but that protector is just ever so slightly too tall and not wide enough. It is 6.78" after all...
Does anybody have any ideas on what I can try next, so we can find a solution to this screen protector situation... I like the look of curved, but I absolutely hate the hassle it causes with screen protectors.
Does anybody have any suggestions... I'm willing to buy and try until we find one that works.
WHY put a protector over Gorilla Glass Victus?
I gave up screen protectors!

Because some of us like to use a protector, and the glass will eventually scratch... Especially the oleophobic coating. If you don't have anything constructive to add, then why bother. Go and be happy with your phone without a protector....

Bailed out on protectors back in the Oneplus 7T days and rapidly realized I was wasting my time with a protector. Never used one and my 8T and zero scratches over the last year. Hope the tech only gets better, so I for one see no reason for it. But.. This is an opinion.

Exactly! I'm tempted with every phone to add a screen protector but Gorilla Glass Victus is also said to surpass Gorilla Glass 6 in terms of durability. Corning states that Victus is two times more scratch-resistant than Gorilla Glass 6 and up to four times scratch-resistant than competitors.

I REALLY AM LOOKING FOR A GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR, I PREFER THEM. SO WOULD YOU PLEASE STOP INTERUPTING THE THREAD WITH YOUR PREFERENCES.
I have 2 on the way, Super sheildz glass and a basic tpu from amazin. Considering how scratched even the glass protectors get, and I do not kick my phones around, I want to be able to sell it mint and You cannot do that if it doesn't have a case and screen on it from day one.
I get top buck for my phones because of that. Your MMV but it's a cheap investment. IntelliGlass has been sold and that was my fave so no screens from them and I'll be damned if I'll pay 40$ for one from Spigen even if it's the best, ill wait till it's half off.
There will be more entries into the market but it's limited right now. I'll post back on how it goes.
There seems to be a problem with the fingerprint reader not working when a glass screen protector is fitted, the one i fitted to my Pro was absolutely rubbish and pinged off so i didnt get to see the problem but the Spigen on i put on my wifes 6 means her fingerprint scanner doesn't work correctly now.

This. I don't see any scratches on my 2 year old 4 XL. Screen protectors were a pain in the ass to apply in the old days when the screens were flat. But now, not only the screen is curved as fuᴄk, but there's also that on-screen fingerprint reader that is already not great. Over my dead body am I dealing with the nightmare that would be a screen protector on this thing.

I get it bro... Is using the finger print unlock important to you? Every glass protector I've seen (on Amazon) the title either says "doesn't support finger print reader" or the reviews say that. Since your phone already has glass screen (please don't tell at me for saying that ) would you consider one of those plastic screen protectors? That's what I'm thinking about getting. Yes I'm answering your question.
Also you spelled interrupting wrong. You forgot the second R.
