LCD defect - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The display of my G4 suddenly began to work with this brightness diffusion effect. Once it got stuck and I had to take out the battery, on reboot it did the flaw and now it is. It is not the well-known ghost effect that seems to depend on software, but it is a hardware defect that is already seen at the bootscreen. Will it be a problem that depends on the LCD or the motherboard?

Solved! Changed LCD bought in China. Perfect.

Weird Screen Behavior and now totally Unusable, Need HELP!!

Hello Friends,
Three month ago my nexus 5x touch screen started to work awkwardly, sometimes its perfect and sometimes it doesn't work at all until number of locking and unlocking the phone it would work again, until yesterday the screen suddenly rotated upside down!! and then purple flashes then nothing at all, not even google logo just white or purple screen.
So I want to make sure its a screen replacement issue and not a motherboard issue, and where can I buy an affordable one that ships internationally.
thank you guys in advance.
P.S: screen used to work perfectly in recovery before the purple thing.
And If it is as I expect a Hardware issue. I'm out of warranty or a repair point where I live, Do you think buying a new screen frame will fix it for sure or it might be another hardware failure?
Anybody??!!
Did your phone water damaged? I have the same issue but some water was poured on my phone 2 months ago. Now I am waiting for my replacement screen.

bootloop and screen burn problem

hello,
i want to buy a lg g4 but i see two major problem, the bootloop problem because of the mainboard issue and the screen burn out issue.
now i want to know if these problems stay left on this device with the new build date or problems solved?
sorry for my bad english
No one truly knows I sold my g4 cause worried it'll bootloop and needed reliable pjone
Because of screen burn I send it to guarantee, they replaced the display. So it's a hardware issue, not possible to fix with any Rom.
easy fix screen burn
Easy fix for image retention/screen burn
So like many of you, I have discovered that the G5 screen suffers from image retention/screen burn/ghosting. I found this fix from the LG G5 xda forums thread on this issue. You simply download an app called "Blue Light Filter" from Simple Design Ltd. and set the intensity to 5% with a color temperature of 1800K. You will notice pretty much no difference in the screen and there is no impact on your battery life. Please try the app if you suffer from this issue for at least a day and post your experience here.
Also had dead mainboard an a few months later screen burn in. All are hardware issues and you get an replacement in warranty time.
Mine was a SN 505 (bad charge) and all issues was repaired.

Grainy white noise screen with working touch input

Hi,
I have to following problem:
My HTC One M8 has colorful grainy static screen and sometimes the picture turns off, like a cable is loose. I read all the forums and search google all over for a solution, most of them claimed that after a panel replace it will be fine. I switched the whole front panel for a new one, but after assembly i have the same problem. The phone is working, because i can unlock the screen lock, turn off the phone, i get the notifications and everything, but the screen is just static noise. I'm assuming that maybe it is some graphic fault, but not related to the lcd panel or the cables (they are all brand new, and i double checked all of them). Is the logic board responsible for the image? What should i try to replace next the upper motherboard, or the middle logic board?

I've got the exact same thing here.... Searched a lot around without finding anything that has resolved my case. I ordered a replacement screen for a cracked screen on the first phone, but when I tested the LCD before I assembled everything together it was showing just noise like in your picture. I assumed the LCD was bad, so I ordered a new one. But the new one was acting exactly the same.
Yesterday, I was approached by another one who needed help with their M8, and that phone needed to have its volume buttons replaced. So, I reused the parts from the old M8, but when I booted the phone after repair, it showed this same noisy screen as the first M8 I tried to repair. Anyone here that knows these phones and what is going on here? I'm pretty sure I have 3 working LCD's here now, and suspect something strange going on with the mainboard or controller for screen.
Anyone?

Again problems with replacement screen

Hello,
three months ago the display of my OP3 stopped working, could see the leds flashing when starting up but nothing to see on the screen. So i tried with a broken display from a friends OP3 which was broken but fully working (touchscreen + display). Because everything was working fine with this display i bought an replacement screen from ebay.
First thing when i replaced the display was that with the new display the touchscreen gestures were gone. So i was not able to wake up the phone by douple tap or could start the torch/flashlight with gestures.
So i started searching on google and found out that this should be a problem of LCD as the original display is amoled and most (or all) of the replacement displays are "only" LCD. If that would have been the only problem i think i could arrange with it although i liked to use the gestures.
But sometimes i have the problem that after waking up the phone the touchscreen is not working. Then i have to urn off the screen again and wait some time. Sometimes 30 seconds, sometimes 1 or 2 minutes. This can be really annoying. Apart from that it seems that the touchscreen is working not as good as original one.
So i have a few question which should help me to decide, buying another replacement display, if that, hopefully found and amoled one. Or maybe there is another solution (like new flashing, but i don't believe in that solution really):
1. Is it really true that you can never use display gestures with an amoled display? Does this never works on LCD?
2. On aliexpress there are a few displays sold saying it is an amoled display but there is always said LCD in the title. Do you think that can be amoled or is that not true? If i would by another display it should bea an amoled.
3. Do you think it must be a hardware problem of the new display or it maybe help to put it apart again and there is just a simple connection error for example? Or do you thin it can be a software error?
Greetings and thank you for help

You can try two things. First flash an OOS ROM and see whether it resolves your issue (sometimes it does). Next, you can open up the phone and check the connections.
If both these fail, go for another screen which is comparatively costlier and from a reliable website rather than Aliexpress. The costlier ones usually do not have issues.
