Hello,
My LG G3 D852 really heats up and I'm not sure what to do.
I was thinking about opening it and putting those soft silicone thermal pads to reduce heat.
You can see on Amazon what I mean, here is a link https://www.amazon.ca/20x20x2mm-Sil...F8&qid=1521568057&sr=8-3&keywords=Thermal+pad.
Can anyone tell me what they think about this solution?
Thank you,

Hey guys,
I have a problem with my G3. I was so happy when I got it but now it drove me nuts. The display which is supposed to be the selling spot of this phone is not so glorious after all. Although not all users are affected by this I am one of those who are. I noticed a yellow band on the top left side of my screen. As I read online it is glue residue that has protruded through the display. Many people suggest to put it under a UV light but I am not sure if I should do this (the UV light is supposed to dry the glue). I have to mention that I bought the G3 because I had the exact same problem with the G2 in the same place. It looks so ugly and drives me crazy. So I wanted to ask for help from someone over here at XDA who has had the same or similar issue with the G3 or any other phone and is willing to offer me help and guide me through fixing this annoying issue.
Thanks!
I attached photos bellow taken by my other G3 which by the way does not have that problem!
Hello.
I have exactly same issue with my LG G3. :crying: Same kind of yellow spot at exactly same area as it is in your phone. It really is very annoying. Can anyone say if it's possible to fix it some way?
I can't believe that it is caused by my own fault. I read also somewhere that it is some glue which is visible for some reason.

I don't know what to do carrier warranty will not cover this and will say that it is my fault. The only thing we can do I think is either ask LG or make a group complaint since I am sure that there are many more experiencing this problem. I also have it on the G2 and it is even worse it is becoming black blueish. They make excellent panels but their glue sucks. Also drying the phones under UV lights is very expensive that is why they let them air dry which does not solidify the glue and problems like this appear.

I wouldn't put it in the fridge. It is wet and it might damage the internals but since it is -10 here when I am out it is almost gone but it comes back in the same intensity when I enter an enclosed area.
Hi
I have a lg g3 f460s and my phone recently got wet when I dropped it in a puddle.
I can't find a mainboard for my phone.
Does anyone know where I can find one please I would appreciate it a lot.

Is the liquid damage indicator currently red?
If its not it might be another component thats broken and its worth checking that out before you spend alot of money trying to go find a new mainboard
I don't see where there is an indicator. I know when I picked it up from the water the screen was black and making a weird hissing sound.

LG G4 Heatsink mod
Hello
My lg g4 gets hot after taking like 50 photos in a row. I was using it pretty hard when i was on vacation as my "take-photo-device". After a lot of google searching, i found out that the G3 could have been modified internally to make the temps better and make sure the phone wasnt downclocking as much.
Is there a similar process that you can do on the G4?
Thanks for any help.
here....from Taiwan site....use google Translate if you don't understand it

It requires you to remove the original shield, insert a copper plate on the CPU, add some thermal paste and the heat dissipation is better. This way the heat goes out the back cover instead of towards the front as well.
How easy is it to remove that plate.
There is a thermal mod in the works that could come closer to this with less effort but it needs root. Will be interesting to see cpu-z temps grabs with that mod and compare with this one.

problems with thermal mods is that they dont fix the underlying issue (which is the CPU getting hot and downclocking like mad), they just either up the temperature range or downclock the cpu from the start not allowing it to work.
I looked at the taiwan link, however i havent managed to figure it out. Can you use some alluminium foil rather than a copper plate?

Easy as. Just flick it up with a knife or screwdriver. Its only held in there with teeny metal grips.

I did a write up in the sprint threads with pics how i tore mine down and used arctic silver therm paste.

I've always had overheating problems with my G3, does anyone know of good metal cases that would work like a heatsink or something similar?
Have you tried looking into thermal mods for the phone itself? They're a bit more technical, but definitely worth it.
Here's a good Reddit thread you can read through (just paste this after the reddit address, this is my first post on here so I'm blocked from using real links)
/r/LGG3/comments/4g9yc4/who_has_done_the_heatsink_mod_thermal_pad_or_paste/
I used the basic method with thermal paste between the CPU and the frame of the phone around six months ago, and I haven't had a single problem with overheating since.
If you're willing to wait a little for thermal pads or a copper shim, I'd definitely recommend that, to avoid the mess and get more consistent heat transfer.
Hi Guys,
I wanna replace the battery and cracked screen on my lovely HTC10, however I dont have a heat gun.
Has anyone tried it with hair dryer?
What are the other alternatives If there is any or should I just go buy the heat gun?
I have a lot of experience of replacing these kinda stuff before, like the ones doesn't require a heat gun(iPhone5, lg g3, blu etc....)
Cheers,
