I use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and have noticed a strange thing happening recently. If I did a Google search for images I could click on one of the search results and get a bigger version of the image with a couple of options, namely visit the page where the image resides or view the image at its full resolution. I could also scroll to the next result by tapping a little arrow. Now when I click/tap on an image result I get taken immediately to the web page. This does not happen on my phone, so what could have changed on the N7?
I have no other browsers on the N7 to try...

It used to work in exactly same way as Galaxy Tab Plus (prompt for browser to get result). But today I notice a change on GNex JB, that it opens the result instantly on its own window (not any browser).
Does anybody notice the change?
That's just the new Google Search / Google Now interface.
If it can give you a succinct result, it'll hand you a "card" with information and then feed you full results under it. If it can't give you a card, it'll go straight to web results. Once you click a result, it'll open your browser.
1: i noticed that chrome "cuts" and overlap part of some web pages...for ex google upper menu appears over the first search result, making it impossible to click.
(edit)
1,1: sometimes it stucks and has a strange behavour with s pen (i click somewhere but it takes as click in another place in the page. it s evidente when small chars and many links )
it doesnt happen in any other app or menu.
2 stock browser doesn t recognize "other favourites" folder or the equivalent for italian "altri preferiti".
i can save only in the main folder and subfolders and not there
same for you?
1. Same here
2. I don't know, I mainly use Firefox beta now
edited main post.
firefox has any kind of sync with google favourites? can be edited?
for me it's a major feature.
I started getting this with Chrome when we got the first "performance improvement" update. I work around it by zooming in and scrolling. Not ideal by any means.

I dont know but I think the chrome has it's issues?
Noticed the same issue with Chrome, took me a while to really notice what was going on.
I had problems with Chrome as well. I like it but not enough to put up with a chopped off screen and major offset for the touch screen. I went with Opera and it works like it should so far.
Yip, this happens to me as well and it sucks.
I'm using a Kindle Fire - 2nd generation, I believe. Under device settings, it shows system version 6.3.4_user_4120720.
While trying to view web sites like the NY Times, pages jitter all over the place as various page features load/blink/annoy. If I click on reader comments, an overlay covers the main page, and if I try to scroll through the comments, the main page BEHIND them scrolls instead. I can't post a link, but a google search for "Migrant Chaos Mounts While Divided Europe Stumbles for Response" will take you to an article whose web page displays this problem (assuming you're also using a crippled browser).
I wondered if the ancient Silk browser simple can't handle the features being added to many web pages. So, I downloaded the Firefox APK directly from a Mozilla.org page. I enabled the installation of 3rd party apps, and when I tried to install the apk, I got a message saying "error trying to parse the package". My method was simply to tap the apk file while viewing it in ES File Explorer. Is there some other step needed to install Firefox? I successfully installed K9 Mail this way, but FF - no luck.
So I looked around for a solution but couldn't seem to find something for this particular issue. It's not a big deal but annoying when I click a link from a google search or click on a website shortcut I placed on my home screen it appears for a second it's going to open the intended webpage but simply opens whatever last website I was on and/or the default home page in chrome. I tried toggling with the google setting to open web pages in app but either way the problem persists. Any insight or advice is appreciated.

Since early 2017 my E980 on stock 4.4.2 has been struggling on text-heavy pages, in every browser. Zooming and then clicking is very laggy; clicks often show up delayed or misplaced due to rendering lag. Example page on Reddit (log in so things are clickable).
Is this normal?
Edit: disregard, this was due to AutoInput.
Depending on the browser, I'm using Firefox Focus on mine nd everything works okay... Consider that this is a 6y old CPU and modern web pages are full of different scripts, stylesheets and stuff... simply don't expect much from it.

Define okay, though. The pages I'm talking about have tens of thousands of characters. This is causing a zoom and UI delay where you zoom in, tap something, and the tap is registered in the wrong spot because the tap zones haven't updated. Try it on the example page. Scroll around, zoom in, and immediately try to tap a grey link (no account needed).

By okay I mean I can spend 30-60 minutes on reddit w/out any issues or slowdowns It really depends a lot on the browser, Chrome is lagging even on my newer device sometimes, while Firefox likes to freeze for no apparent reason. I have only Firefox Focus on that phone and it's as fast as you can expect from that device.
I finally found the cause: AutoInput (Tasker plugin). Disabled it and restarted Chrome.
