I have strange problem that a phone call disconnects when screen goes off, I've noticed this issue while making normal phone calls and on Telegram X. The strange thing is it happens one time, for example if I make a phone call and the screen goes off the phone call disconnects, but when I redial again it keeps connected even after screen goes off.

Theres a thread about this, but I cant find it, even searched for it, so here it comes again:
When I make a phone call, the screen flashes on and off (lights on the keys aswell go on and off) - This is annoying because the screen doesnt respond when its off, and just flashes on and off until your about half a minute into the call.
This means touchtone services and ending short calls may be a pain sometimes.
Any solution?

The screen will go black when up against you and then back to normal when moved away, it has a light sensorbuilt in.

my sister's got a huge problem with her desire. whenever someone calls her and the screen switches off the call ends and 3g switches off. that means a normal call only lasts a few seconds and when she uses speaker und puts the phone on the table the calls ends a few seconds after the screen goes off.

she is currently on leedroid gb. she also tried a complete wipe but its still the same.

I have noticed that on my nexus the notification light flashes rapidly during a 2G phone call. I Only noticed it because I was sat in the dark.
It only happens when the phone is placed to your ear and the screen goes off.

You can see it start flashing at 0:15 when the call connects.
- The phone had no notifications at the time
- I was connected to an Edge network (O2 UK)
- I have 4.0.1 build ITL41F
Because i can replicate it over and over on a 2G call, I'm guessing it's a similar to the volume bug before that was patched the other week.
Not a massive issue but would suggest there's something not quite right with 2G on this phone.
Really interested to hear your thoughts.

Mine blinks only once every time I put the phone next to my ear and the screen turns off. This happens on 2G and 3G.
Okay, this is the strangest problem ever.
I m not sure if the phone goes over ''Sleep of Death'', or a glitch in the proximity sensor that turns the screen off.
When I conect the earphone, then it works great, but if not I can't do anything - close the phone , light the screen to dial something
I find it hard to be any of those because the screen sleeps even if I call and don't get my face close to the phone .
I have read many people experiencing similar problems but noone really having an answer.

my GF's phone keeps switching to airplane mode when she answers calls. She can talk for 5-25 second and then the phone switches to airplane mode. I allready checked if the sensor that turns the screen of isnt working, but that is not the problem. If i hide the sensor with my finger the screen turns off.
And she cant listen to voice messages through the speaker, in the moment she takes the phone to her ear, the messages stop.
Looks for me like an error with the sensor but as i said, when i hide it with my finger the screen turns off.
Its on Android 4.2.2 and not rooted or has any custom rom.
Maybee anybody had the same issue or an idea what could be the reason.
I thought about installing Viper one but i am not sure if this could fix a sensor error or if it would be the best solution to send it to htc.
