I got this phone from a friend and the sim card flex was broken, i used just with wifi some months before i buy the flex. Change the stock rom JB to KK CloudyGX , install the flex (really easy) and there is no signal/service at all. I use E988 on the aroma options
Sadly i lost my recovery backup from the original stock, so i search for a firmware with my IMEI and it says that it is E98610J_00 region: PTR (Portugal) Clean install with flashTool and everything OK but NO signal
The phone is from europe, i live in latin america, but according to the bands used on the phone should work, and i know some friends that have this same model E986 at least got gsm signal
Can be the MODEM? i dont know what modem can i flash... I appreciate the help
EDIT: Searching with the file explorer /system/etc/firmware/ <--- There is no modem.img is that ok or i'm in the wrong section
update: stock JB from turkey (flashtool), custom LP (twrp) with a specific patch with the modem for e986 and NOTHING! i'm desperate!
Wich is wierd is that i go to the option for searching operator and finds signal from other operator diferent from the one i use but only outside of the house indicating maybe that is not hardware problem? but the signal is not strong enough to find inside the house

I need your help please, I just bought a Galaxy note 2 from china, under the battery, i have GT-N7100 Model Number,
but when i am at Download Mode , my phone is I-317, i tried to install an AT&t stock frimware to make sure its original i-317, and everything was just fine, i got my phone flashed via ODIN, with original att latest frimware, but unfourtionately; i have no signal, unless i flash custome rom i got signal for 2-3 minutes and thin NO SIGNAL AT ALL, my imei is ok, my baseband is also ok, but i have no ideia what should i do in order to get it fixed,

Thanks for your response, but i don't have signal at all, but the phone automatically detects my apn settings, and can read the sim card, but there is no signal, it might be the modem, but i tried tmobile modem and att modem neither one was working.

I tried to flash my korean F180K.
Changing ROM and rooting wasn't a problem but...
I downloaded ROM:
lg-phone-firmware com
For Polish provider Plus: 93 PLS/PLUS(POLAND) 10D LGE975
Changing ROM went ok i got the phone to factory settings and rooted.
I tried to flash baseband with adb and firmware_f180k.img.
Unfortunetly i didn't get any signal 2g/3g/lte.
On the unblock screen i got a message wrong sim. Like out of nowhere Simlock apeared.
Does anyone have working f180k baseband and could share a link?
I need it for operator that works on: 3g 900/2100, LTE 1800 MHz
Right now im back to Olleh Firmware

you have to copy in your sdcard and then you can run the batch file. You need root, obviously.
Question: can you see properly your sdcard? I tried to convert my f180k too, but I could go further because my sdcard was not properly mounted...

I tried the process one more time.
Flashed the firmware, factory settings, root.
About flashing baseband after root.
I've put the phone in PC suite mode, it showed the built in memory and I've copied the img file there.
After this i copied the bat file to C:\ where already I had adb and ran it.
Everything works fine now accept WIFI/hotspot.
I did the same thing before the previous post and it didnt work.
Probably your img file was something else and worked ok.
Does someone have baseband where cellural and wifi works?

F180K problem in sending sms
Im from philippines, my network is Suncellular.
I flashed E975H kdz (open europe), unlocked bootloader, install recovery and already flashed baseband for f180k but my problem is it takes too long send mms, and sometimes unable to send.
Is there any solution for this? TIA

i ve changed today provider and 3G is not working.When i open data,it is always under GPRS.Can anyone think hw can i solve this?Also the provider is vodafone.If i download the Greek KDZ (wich is for the phone been sold by vodafone) will change something?is there any posibility to work without changing baseband?cause i think that if i change rom and then baseband same error will occur.

may be the access point is wrong,may be you can press "*#*#4636#*#*"to select a proper network mode,and i believe if you flash kdz will give you 3g back,but it is the last way.

Pressing *#*#4636#*#* didnt help.it did nothing,i couldnt choose something.ill try to back up my phone and then do a factory reset,cause lte doesnt work too.Btw 3g worked yesterday randomly some time..Dont know what the hell is going on!

May be incompatible frequencies?
F180L is version for LG Telecom which doesnt use WCDMA network.
F180L does supports WCDMA, but as i remember it has some odd frequencies.
And check the APN

well with my former provider it worked fine.And its strange cause sometimes 3g works with this provider too!the bad thing is that i cant choose in this rom in what mode i want to connect.In open european mode it had some options,also in stock avatar rom.I think ill try a hard reset and if i dont have any changes ill try to use open european version.Btw does anybody know,if i change to european version,can i have OTA updates?Or ill have to dowload it everytime and install it through KDZ updater?

anyone any solution?
I tried this but when I clicked on the "select radio band" option, it gave me an error notice "?unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". Plz how do I rectify? NB... My device has no connection to any of the carrier networks after upgrade.
Using official (as well as silviu's ROM) for Samsung Galaxy S4 mIni duos (i9192) on Jelly Bean, I could use HSPA+ network (when available). However my phone was rebooting everytime I activated my 3G/HSPA+ on one of the two sim cards... very annoying, my only solution was to deactivate 3G and work on Wi-Fi to avoid constant rebooting.
Therefore I tried kitkat version : it's even worse concerning rebooting plus I have no HSPA+ at all (same phone, same sim card, same network, same place) !! Modified ROM of Silviu corrected rebooting issue, but still no HSPA+ anymore !!
Can someone help ?

Where are u from ?
At me H+ worked on JB and on KitKat without problems.
Maybe u need another modem that is closer to your country .
Change modem ?

I'm afraid I was too fast in saying rebooting issue was solved with your kitkat rom : it is not rebooting but I still loose network on both sim cards after activating 3G on one of them (and using it). Behaviour is slightly different as I don't get immediately pin code screen or rebooting, but I have to reboot and enter pin codes again to reactivate network.
You may be right about changing modem : what do you suggest ? I found one of your posts on this forum with a lot of modems : are they all usable with kitkat ?

Strange behavior u have there. unfortunately no, only 3 modems for now for KitKat . Russia, India, Chile
I think i only had one full network drop on both SIM since Kitkat and that was caused by Phone.apk crash . But my network came back online in 10 15 seconds or so.
On Jb, i had more Phone.apk crashes but those fully lock the phone and i had to force shutdown . ~1 / week or so
I have no clue what to advise u unfortunately. Sorry

Let me resume, I have now 1 more issue on Kitkat comparing to JB :
a) loosing network when both sim cards active AND 3g active on one of them (i.e. be asked for pin codes, unexpected rebooting, just nothing to see but get voicemail when calling my own numbers from external phone)
b) no HSPA+ (Kitkat only)
I tried to downgrade to JB in order to have at least HSPA+, but it gives an error ! ?
Please help how to proceed for downgrade to JB stock rom ?!

If u flashed full kitkat firmware u have new bootloader u CAN`T downgrade to Jb as i heard .
So u are stuck ...

I've noticed there is a new version for India... do you have only the MODEM: I9192DDUCNH1 for download and is this modem compatible if I install it together with PDA I9192XXUCNG2 (I don't want to reinstall everything, but only have bugs corrected in modem) ??

Same issue here.
Same issue here. After upgrading to Kitkat, never been able to connect again to HSPA+ signal. When I try network mode "GSM/WCDMA" I get EDGE signal then when I choose network mode to "WCDMA" only, I have a signal but no internet and the symbol "H+" or "H" doesn't appear on the top of the screen.
Hy friend in my galaxy s4 mini i9195..after all 30 min or 1h i lose 3g signal ans show (emergency call only) but after little time the 3g return... and i dont have 2g signal when i chose 2g signal its show (emergency call only) i do any thing i try deferent modems iam at stock roms 4.2.2...i dont lose m imei its good...i try défirent roms...no 2g network....question this is a probleme software or hardware ?? Note (3g work fine but some time crach)

I think you could downgrade modem only from that Brazilian firmware which boot loader is 2.0.
Last thing you could try is to do a e2fsck from adb on your partitions.
Again I'll ask about your Knox status is it 0x0 go to your download mode (Odin mode) if its under warranty send it to service, just because flashing don't seem to solve your problem.

Second came with Knox bootloader and I was afraid of the warranty so I didn't root it, it was flawless, then cm11 for the dual sim variant came out, installed a recovery and flashed cm11 knox became knox0x1 and 3g stopped working just showings emergency call tried many different modems to make 3g work in cm11 but none worked I flashed back stock and to my surprise 3g on my carrier didn't worked some carriers worked nice but not in mine.
Then I swapped screens with the old phone and that was the solution to my 3g problem same sims but different hardware.

no no i have knox 0*1 because i dont care about waranty
so can i flash the brazilian modem 4.2.2 on my kitkat firmoire for downgrade only the modem????
I see no problem flashing that modem.
If happens that you lost imei flash again the kk firmware your phone has right now.

tnx very much....i flashed just the modem and i dont lose my imei baseband is changed to the brazilian modem sussesfully but nothing happen....same probleme for the 2g network.but if i put another sim of another operator the 2g is worked fine....all sim of my same operator dont work at 2g network...but if i put another sim of other operatoer the 2g work normally??? so were are the probleme????
Crazy I know but my knowledge is limited but i think if all software seems to be right then it's hardware

its crazy yes but for me its not a hardware probleme.bcz if its a probleme hardware no sim card can be work my friend.because i try other sim card of other operator and 2g work like a charm.if i put my dim card or other sil card same at my simcard the probleme is the same hhhhhh this is crazy ????
