F240K - international use - how to

Hi
I have F240K in Poland Europe. Just bought. Phone is from Olleh operator.
I try to flash with stock rom downladed from LG but nothing changed.
I need to find out way to:
1. Get rid of operator stuff - maybe there is generic ROM that can be used?
2. MOST IMPORTANT- change RADIO since in operator settings I have only to options: GMS and WCDMA and AUTOMATIC. IN Poland operators are using: 3gnetworks and 2 g networks. and phone shoud work but is always showing "G" next to network bar.
Anybody can help?

to get rid of those bloatware, you can always use Titanium Backup to freeze them, but you have to root your phone first.
I think the E980 root is safe to use, but I dont know.....I havent root my E988 yet....
after you root it, you can remove/uninstal the bloatware, but I dont think it is a good step, because some people cant update their phone after the removed the bloatware.
but again, I dont really know about this, coz my E988 is unlocked
about the ROM, I cant help you, sorry....

[Q] Problem with USSD

Hello all, I have purchased LG Optimus G F180K few days ago. I have converted my unit to E975 successfully. But I am having some strange issue with USSD. I am using prepaid operator where I need to check my balance through USSD. Well there is no provlem with that. But the problem is there are some service commands (Eg. *5000#) in USSD to check internet balance or to transfer credit to another prepaid number where I need to dial an USSD and a service command appear reply where I need to chose any of the option from 0-9 and in reply my request was responds. When I dial such USSD there is no service reply and after a while it shows "Invalid Command or MMI" and for the reason I can not check my remaining internet balance and many other services which is really annoying. But with my Nokia 501 there is no problem at all. Anyone has any idea what could be the problem or how to fix that? Please notice the problem was also exist in F180K stock firmware too.

Flashing e975 kdz solve my problem.

Did you have exactly the same problem as I have? please read carefully about my problem. As I am already converted to E975 I just want to make sure flashin E975 KDZ again will fix that. Please answer

Yeah.
I used Europe open kdz. Its haven't include these restrictions.

I've had the same happen to me on Stock ROMs, being prepaid as well I found a simple solution, in my case I have to dial *5 to verify balance, but doing so would return the same error message mmi something, so I dial *55 and it works, in your case it might not work because of the complex code/system but try dialing *55000# or something maybe it works.

I got my internal storage 0.00GB after flashing european kdz, even after a hard reset the storage won't come back. :'(

What firmware did you use when converting your f180? Can you flash that KDZ?

I am using Epsilon Project V3. I could not install KDZ because of 0.00GB issue

Even while in download mode you couldn't flash KDZ? How about your original F180 firmware? You should check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249500

I did a flash with E975 European KDZ successfully and everything is ok but still i got that udds error. Another thing surprised me. My phone catches network and I can use 3G with no issue. But when I check 2945#*975# it shows me "The phone is permanently locked and can not be unlocked" but still it works in every operator in my country. Any idea

[Q] Seriously guys i want your help. please....!! Airplane mode problem

Yesterday i install a custom Rom 4.2.2 after kitkat cyanogenmod BR2. before installation i put my phone on airplane mode.
after installation my HD is showing signal bars (white colored) and on top no service and cross sign.
other sim networks works perfectly only Telenor network has this problem.
i have tried changing radio version. now i am on latest one.
i have tried full wipe and install again kitkat and jellybean no success.
please guys help me what should i do.

So, other SIMs are working with different radio versions? I think that your phone is fine.

Might be a trouble from operator side. Check Telenor SIM on other phone.
If it will work - flash factory ship ROM on yor DHD and flash original radion version.
It's strange mystical part, but stock ROM resolves a lot of troubles

Thanks for reply other sims works fine with ever version of radio only that telenor sim doesn't work as before flashing a new rom i put my DHD in airplane mode i think that is the main problem...
if i do same process with other sim ( before flashing other rom put DHD in airplane mode ) then that sim network will not work also..those sims will work fine in other cellphone.
like i use the same process( before flashing other rom put DHD in airplane mode ) with Mobilink sim it shows signals but when i call or sms it says Mobile network not available (in screenshot)
and when i use Telenor it says no service (in screenshot)
when i try to choose a mobile network manually in settings it says "your sim doesn't allow a connection to this network" (in screenshot).
and when i try to choose a mobile network automatically in settings it says "Can't connect to this network right now try again latter" (in screenshot).
other sims works fine
all screenshots are attached with other information
please help me.please :crying:
update : also tried latest RUU same problem again

This Is strange... Is your device made in china or taiwan?
Reason for asking this question is that, taiwanese made DHD normally generate certain problems out of the bloom that usually makes no sense.
From my understanding, When you flash a rom, you format the data partition and this partition holds every change you made to the os during the time of use. So there isnt any reason why a mode you left your phone in before flashing another rom should have such an effect.
Have you tried inserting another sim from the same mobile operator?
Edit:: And what rom is that? It looks nice. Can you give me a link to it?

It cant be a simlock. It takes more than airplane mode to throw a device in sim lock.
And if it was sim lock, it would only accept one particular sim card and not accept some simcards and reject others.
These made in taiwan Desire HDs develop problems that dont mount up to any proper explanation, as i already said.
Like mine, its taiwanese made and when i take out the simcard, it runs smoothly, but as soon as i insert a simcard, the device becomes laggy/slow. i have tried so many things but they all dont seem to work. This isnt the only problem, there are others.
This only leaves me with the conclusion that, the taiwan made DHDs are immetations/fake.

Optimus G Pro KitKat 4.4.2 manual network search bug

Everyone,
I just updated my firmware to 4.4.2 via the LG software (South East Asia version). What I found out is that I can no longer manually search for telco network and pick the network of my choice. It will always present "No Networks Found" when I attempt to search. Auto network selection works fine. However, I need to search and select manual network due to the network alliance for data roaming.
I send my phone in to the service center and they tested it with different phones and found that it is consistent and they declare that it is a bug in the KitKat firmware. They downgraded my phone back to 4.1.2 and tell me that they will feedback the bug to the software team, however there is no commitment on when this will be fixed.
Please help me test the manual network search on your 4.4.2 and let me know if you face the same "No Networks Found" issue. I want to know if this is limited to the South East Asia version of the firmware or it is bigger.

I had this problem too. I was using the Singapore E988 and when I upgraded it to 4.4.2, the phone could not display the available telco networks in all modes (GSM, WCDMA, LTE...). Either it gives "no network found" or "error while searching for networks."
Tried resetting to factory numerous times and reinstalling 4.4.2, but it doesn't solve the problem.
I had to downgrade it back to 4.1.2 and everything is back to normal.

Thanks for the confirmation. Hopefully LG will fix this in 4.4.2 so that we have a functioning KitKat to use on our phone.

Nope. Not yet, at least for Singapore firmware. It is still the v20b created in May.
I think LG has decided that it is not worth the effort to fix this. I am stuck.
I am considering flashing my phone with KitKat firmware from Hong Kong or Malaysia, not sure if it is a viable option.
Are you also experiencing the same issue? Which firmware are you using?

Im in south Korea and my phone also shows no signal inside rooms, restaurant,ets.. im think it getting LTE signal only?..

I flash back the correct KDZ file for my E986 (based on EMEI number) and I don't have 4G LTE? IT IS in the menu, but it never works. It's allways in 3G.
In this case, is it probably a hardware problem?

more like and apn setting. search in google your carrier name + LTE + apn setting. You should find the information to enter in tethering&networks>mobile networks>Access point names.

I don't want to disappoint you but I have tried anything the last month and nothing works, if you find any solution please let me know.
