I've pre-ordered an Aura Glow, 256 GB plus the Galaxy Buds as a free bonus! from Samsung.ca
The trade in program wouldn't work for me as OnePlus isn't included in the program.

If I order an unlocked one from samsung.com, will it work here with Canadian carrier(Fido)? They are offering $600 US trade in for a Note 9, and samsung.ca is offering $380 CND? Really?

They're offering $0 on the s10 plus. Samsung US is also offering $600 for the Pixel 3 XL and its not o. The list. I entered my Pixel 3XL info as if it were a Pixel 3 and the offer was $130.
I tweeted Samsung Canada for some kind of answer and all I got was crickets! ???

Is it possible to order a US Note 10 from Canada? If they are unlocked, then they should be able to work here. AT $500 US after trade in its a MUCH better deal than here at $100 CND after (max)trade in.

I've got the unlocked Samsung.com version. Can I simply flash the Canadian firmware (want Samsung Pay) in Odin?

Canadian vs US variant
I can find pick up the US unlocked variant for the same price as the Canadian unlocked variant (including the exchange rate difference) and the US variant has some additional LTE bands that aren't currently used in Canada, but other than that is there any advantage of one variant over the other? Are firmware updates, Samsung Pay, etc. about the same on both phones?

You might miss out on some features like VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling. Depending on who you're wireless provider is. Other little things too. Like seeing 4G instead of LTE. It might be possible to flash the Canadian firmware but I don't know for sure. That still might not give you access to all the features I mentioned before.

I got my unlocked Note 10+ Aura from Best Buy when they had the trade-in deal, $400 if trading in a Note phone + $500 for my Note 9, so I got $900 in total with Best Buy's trade-in offer, I'm loving my Note 10+.

When we are the last in the world to get firmware updates and fixes, like right now, I miss international version and root so much.

I asked Samsung Canada via chat about possible October firmware that is supossed to give us security patch and native rcs supporting all providers on native SMS app (prefer it over Google app because I can pin important conversations), and fingerprint issue patch.
Was waiting to connect for a while.
They apologized for wait, apparently lots of people asking support. Told them what's up, they asked for imei, and asked me to wait,............ 20 min later... "did you try updating through settings?"
WTF!
Guess that explains long wait at the beginning.
Oh. Almost forgot. Samsung Canada mentions fingerprint patch only for s10, +, and e. The guy on chat also said. "Patch is coming to s10, 10+, 10e, 10 5g, note 10, 10+,...."... wait s10 5g? Dumbfounded. Talk about Canadian support

Fingerprint update patch came out on the 24th of Oct. for me, Note 10 Plus model from Samsung experience store.

Got android 10 update on Canadian Galaxy Note 10+ SM-N975W today .

N975W and N975U1 are identical in hardware. The U1 firmware will work perfectly fine on the W and in Canada. Im currently running Android 10 star wars U1 firmware on W phone with Koodo. Everything works perfectly and APN was setup automatically. FYI for anyone who wants to flash using Odin. Just make sure your Note 10+ is unlocked first.

I'm with Fido, I see that the firmware has been on Sammobile from Monday but no updates as yet from Fido. Who are you with

Hi I have the exynos Note 10 plus 256GB dual sim N975F simfree I am looking to sell and import the snapdragon version as it's only £740 on Ebay to get the snapdragon version, so can anyone help me out whose already done this does in the uk does the snapdragon version get regular updates? What's the connectivity like I'm on virgin mobile 4g will this still work fine is there any issues you ran into thanks

Both versions will get updates and work as if they identical. The only difference you will see is performance and battery. In which snapdragon outperforms on note 10. Both support same LTE band, so yes Virgin 4g should work.

Got one too.
Using Vodafone UK, volte calling and WiFi calling both work.

Actually, it kind of depends on which Snapdragon model you are getting.
N975U/U1/W have pretty much every band under the sun, but are single-SIM.
N9750 is missing a few bands compared to the above, but apparently covers everything in use in the UK. It is dual-SIM.

Did you flash UK firmware on it when u got it? Have u noticed that much of a difference between the exynos and snapdragon versions

That's the thing I've seen it on ebay but I don't know which version it is I know it's from China and its dual sim with google services installed in your opinion which model number should I get thanks?

The 9750 has a less locked down firmware, but the N975U1 will get the Android 10 beta.
Living in the UK, I would go for the 9750. You are getting more features at the end of the day.

Got my Snapdragon version a few days ago. Reception and WiFi cover is much better.
I am now selling my exynos UK model lol

Can you tell me where you got yours from I've seen it on ebay for 735 pounds it says brand new sealed and it's the n9750 Model? Did u flash UK firmware on your device or did u just pop a uk sim in it and are using it like that

Did you flash a UK firmware on your device or have you left it the way it was when you got it also did yours come in Chinese or English and could you tell me is the battery life that much better?

Stock Hong Kong ROM. English language. Full EE 4G support on both VoLTE and WiFi Calls.
Battery life is much better. Reception is also improved. Highly recommended!

Does the stock Hong Kong rom get updates quicker then UK firmware? Thanks for that could you tell me what website you used to import the phone

Just to be clear on this.....You and No one else should try to flash U.K firmware on the SM-N9750.
On the SM-N9750 you can only flash (BRI) Taiwan firmware, or (TGY) Hongkong firmware.

I think the last October patch came a few days ago, where the Exynos model got it a few weeks back. So no! They have their own update policy not mirroring the Exynos dates.
I got it from eBay. Do a quick search. The device was shipped from a "Swiss" Wearhouse - based on the seller. The good part was no import taxes. Ordered Tuesday, got it one week later!

Thanks for telling me that as I I thought you have to flash uk firmware so basically alls I should do is just pop my UK sim card in and everything should work fine

I've seen it on ebay its from a company called best buy they are saying you get 1 year guarantee but no manufacturer warranty am willing take the risk if it means I get the begger version of the phone and thanks for telling me that that's one of my main concerns did the snapdragon Version get regular timed updates

I may have just ordered from the same seller .. it says it's from Switzerland .. I have a concern that even though the advert says it's new and they say in their listing that its brand new I'm worried that it may actually be refurbished and how would we know ?

My device came brand new. Not sure if they have opened the box before but it seemed out of the box.
Not sure how I can test 4K videos. Can you share a link and I can try.

Hello DR2D2,
Currently the Samsung Galaxy s9 Snapdragon U.S. models are oem locked and unable to be rooted. This has been done for all U.S. Snapdragon variants. If you would like to root your device, I would suggest buy a provider unlocked exynos version which you can find info about in other discussions on these forums.

OEM Unlocking option is missing from Beta 3 on SM-G981U1

Apologies in advance if this the incorrect place to post this.
I bought an unlocked US S20 5G (SM-G981ULBAXAA) from Amazon a few weeks ago and immediately upgraded to the Beta as soon as I got it. I distinctly remember that OEM Unlocking option was available under Android 10/OneUI 2.5 but it is gone from Beta 3 in Dev Options. I filed a ticket with Samsung's Beta program but not much of a response there.
Did anyone else notice this? Is this only a temporary thing for a duration of the Beta or is this going to be permanent?

I dont think there is oem unlocking option since the day 1.

USA models (including your "unlocked" u1) have locked bootloaders, there is no unpaid unlocking regardless of firmware.
I found the same thing on my mine i got from Google store.
No eSim either lol
Samsung has no intention of allowing oem unlock on US models

On exynos it's there. S20U beta 5.

That's only for Exynos variants and a handful of Asian Snapdragon variants. None of the US editions of any S20 model have OEM Unlocking available by default. Those with US S20 models need to get in touch with one of the unlocking services available, they cost anywhere from $100-$150 USD.

Sony Xperia 1 II Sim Unlock S1 Network qunlocktool not available yet

So I picked up 2 sony 1s from Japan ebay. A version 1 and version II. The qunlocktool 2019-07-14 can unlock the version 1, which is what that update was exactly added that model. But didn't work for II. Just a information and I start a thread hopefully get an update when it will support the II. Meanwhile I just have to keep the II a home only use phone which is fine since 90% time I'm at home. Still can use the phone for pictures and upload at home wirh wifi lol. So I guess it will not work for all the mark IIs like 5 II and 10 II. The phone was super cheap 190 USD for the 1 and 230 for the II.
Also just to mention all sony Japanese models comes with missing frequency bands. Like all the flagship xperia are missing thr LTE+ band only get 4G. For fido at least. Check website for bands before you buy. I haven't bother using the snapdragon unlock band guide yet. But what bothers me is how do they make these phones with locked band where they are all made in Thailand factory? I know it's a software thing I guess they install the software with limitation at stock. Wish it's controlled by android so you don't need to root the phone first. I have two xz3 and one xz2 premium and the 1 and 1 II all from Japan so if anyone want to know more let me know. I want to take one xz3 and mess with the band since I already bootloader unlocked it. But that procedure man it's so complicated.

So I found the latest qunlocktool in the end lol works for 1 ii. Got it unlocked ok. Told the eBay seller selling tokens the latest link. Guy is grateful. So yeah if you see this post for SOG01 you can Sim unlock it for 24 USD on eBay easy.
