Greetings;
I've pre-ordered an Aura Glow, 256 GB plus the Galaxy Buds as a free bonus! from Samsung.ca
The trade in program wouldn't work for me as OnePlus isn't included in the program.
Delivery August 23.

If I order an unlocked one from samsung.com, will it work here with Canadian carrier(Fido)? They are offering $600 US trade in for a Note 9, and samsung.ca is offering $380 CND? Really?

They're offering $0 on the s10 plus. Samsung US is also offering $600 for the Pixel 3 XL and its not o. The list. I entered my Pixel 3XL info as if it were a Pixel 3 and the offer was $130.
I tweeted Samsung Canada for some kind of answer and all I got was crickets! ???

Is it possible to order a US Note 10 from Canada? If they are unlocked, then they should be able to work here. AT $500 US after trade in its a MUCH better deal than here at $100 CND after (max)trade in.
got mine yesterday with the buds and damn this phone is nice.
I've got the unlocked Samsung.com version. Can I simply flash the Canadian firmware (want Samsung Pay) in Odin?
What deal did you get from Sam.com?
any cdn users with an F variant?
what's working and what's not working cdn carrier wise?
edit
anyways if anyone wants to try out a note 10 csc pack. please report any issues and save logs aswell.
make a backup first .

Canadian vs US variant
I can find pick up the US unlocked variant for the same price as the Canadian unlocked variant (including the exchange rate difference) and the US variant has some additional LTE bands that aren't currently used in Canada, but other than that is there any advantage of one variant over the other? Are firmware updates, Samsung Pay, etc. about the same on both phones?

You might miss out on some features like VoLTE and Wi-Fi calling. Depending on who you're wireless provider is. Other little things too. Like seeing 4G instead of LTE. It might be possible to flash the Canadian firmware but I don't know for sure. That still might not give you access to all the features I mentioned before.

I got my unlocked Note 10+ Aura from Best Buy when they had the trade-in deal, $400 if trading in a Note phone + $500 for my Note 9, so I got $900 in total with Best Buy's trade-in offer, I'm loving my Note 10+.
When we are the last in the world to get firmware updates and fixes, like right now, I miss international version and root so much.

I asked Samsung Canada via chat about possible October firmware that is supossed to give us security patch and native rcs supporting all providers on native SMS app (prefer it over Google app because I can pin important conversations), and fingerprint issue patch.
Was waiting to connect for a while.
They apologized for wait, apparently lots of people asking support. Told them what's up, they asked for imei, and asked me to wait,............ 20 min later... "did you try updating through settings?"
WTF!
Guess that explains long wait at the beginning.
Oh. Almost forgot. Samsung Canada mentions fingerprint patch only for s10, +, and e. The guy on chat also said. "Patch is coming to s10, 10+, 10e, 10 5g, note 10, 10+,...."... wait s10 5g? Dumbfounded. Talk about Canadian support
Turned off the chat.
Fingerprint update patch came out on the 24th of Oct. for me, Note 10 Plus model from Samsung experience store.
Got android 10 update on Canadian Galaxy Note 10+ SM-N975W today .
N975W and N975U1 are identical in hardware. The U1 firmware will work perfectly fine on the W and in Canada. Im currently running Android 10 star wars U1 firmware on W phone with Koodo. Everything works perfectly and APN was setup automatically. FYI for anyone who wants to flash using Odin. Just make sure your Note 10+ is unlocked first.
I'm with Fido, I see that the firmware has been on Sammobile from Monday but no updates as yet from Fido. Who are you with

I'm receiving a 5x this weekend, its the international version. Does anyone have experience with this version in the US on T-mobile? I know it doesnt have band 12, so thats my only concern.
Please share your experience, so I know if I should buy the US model instead
(got the 32gb for $250 during an ebay sale).
I got the international one on ebay for the same price. I'm on Cricket (AT&T network) in the US and it works great. I have had no issues at all.

Got the same deal at the same time. I'm on AT&T and it's perfect.
awesome! glad to hear this. Im excited, i feel i should have bought 2 though lol
Looking into this for a friend, does LTE work in general on the international version in the US? Tmo bands 2 and 4 should be supported according to the spec however I've seen a couple of comments indicating no luck with LTE the US.
did your 5x end up working ok for you on t-mobile? i'm making the same consideration of using the international version for US.
I'm using the international version in Florida on MetroPCS (Tmobile) and have had zero issues, despite the radio not supporting band 12. I had the same concern as well and decided to take a gamble with it. Glad I did!
Thanks for the feedback on this. The international version can be had for $100 less. I bought one for my kid and will be using it on US Mobile (T mobile). LTE would be nice but he gets a limited data plan of 250MB so it doesn't matter. $12/mo.
No more locked bootloader phones for us, ever; now that MM requires it for root. My US G4 will be stuck on LP...
Hello,
I am quite interested in purchasing this device! I live in Washington D.C. and I was curious which model of the phone is best suited for use in America? I ask because I assume there are probably different model numbers depending on what region the phone is purchased from.
Thanks

I cant find an FCC cert for that model and only see it listed on Samsung India's site:
https://www.samsung.com/in/smartphones/galaxy-a70-a705g/SM-A705GZWHINS/#specs
And from what I can see, that will not work in North America
good news is I found another version that should work so that brings us to
SM-705MN
SM-A705YN
SM-705W*
* for the SM-705W I have not seen the cert myself, but going off information another posted listed on XDA

Yes Samsung Pay Works On The A70..
But... Samsung Pay is : "Region Specific" depending on Model in a given Region. . So, choose your model carefully.

I have the SM-705MN and i can confirm that samsung pay WILL NOT WORK here in the USA.
I was wondering if anybody had the M or W and if it worked on theirs?
And if so could we swap firmware?
or even possibly change the CSC with out flashing the firmware?

Simply Put..
There is NO WAY, NO FIRMWARE SWAP, NADA... ZIP.. That Samsung Pay will work on ANY A70 in the United States Of America.
Period..
If Google Pay does not cut if for you.. time to return / sell your device and get a S6, S7, S8, S9, S10, Note 5, Note 8, Note 9, or wait for the Note 10.. if S-Pay means that much to you.
You can buy the A50 through Sprint.. and have a working Samsung Pay MINI in the U.S.A. as an alternative..
Until I found out Google Pay works in 99% of the place I personally shop.. I was going to return my A70 and go for one of the mentioned device listed above.
I still might... there is something just not feeling right about this purchase.. Great Battery, Fingerprint is Ok for me, Face Unlock is very fast.. even in the dark, 6.7 inch screen seems to be where screens are headed, Amoled is... Amoled the best. You can't root and trip knox, and use Samsung Pay on any device.. even though there appears to be a workaround for using Google Pay.. But I'm fine not rooting with Developer's not having any interest in this device and TWRP seems like a distant dream at this point..
So, why am I just not feeling this device?.. It seems perfect on so many fronts.. but.... with Prime Day coming in a couple of weeks.. and also having thoughts of spending $270.00 more and getting the One Plus 7 Pro.. I just don't know what it is about the A70 for me.. but something is missing at this price point..
Maybe the rumored A507 and A707 ( A50 and A70 ) updated models which are due out later this year will get sold through U.S. carriers or get offered by Samsung directly in the U.S.A. but I'm sure those will be Late 2019 releases. But if they do get released in the U.S. at least the A70 would have Samsung Pay support out of the box.
Sorry to bump an old thread, but just to be clear, the best model for use in the USA would be the SM-A705W (the Canadian model)?

Just like with the 6T and 7, we were able to use the One Plus tool to turn tmobile rom to the international rom. I can buy the 7T today from tmobile and was wondering if someone is working on that tool for the 7T yet? you all are wondering why I don't just buy directly from One Plus? I pay for all big purchases in cash and that means buying through tmobile.
I had to buy the T-Mobile variant as well because I'm a T-Mobile employee and get a $300 rebate for doing so, so I'm looking forward to this as well! I remember being surprised at how quickly it came out for the 7 Pro.
Just bought my TMobile 7t and was wondering the same thing pretty sure the international version is already on version 10.0.4

Also T-Mobile's version numbers seem to have no correlation to the international versions. I remember with the 7 Pro T-Mobile was on a number that was like two higher than the international but it was like four versions behind.

I just checked my current build and its 10.0.3 on my t-mobile OP 7T
I currently have the OP 7Pro Sim unlocked running the international software. I’ve been running the developer preview of Android 10 since day 1. I was able to update using Oxygen Update when OnePlus released the OTA. The One Plus phones are as close as I can get to a Nexus. I miss the Nexus line. I remember the pure Google experience for a fraction of the cost
I’m not turning in my OP 7 Pro until I can flash to international. If I decide to switch to the 7T below are the gains and the loss:
First I’ll lose 128 GB of storage but I’ll gain face unlock, finger print sensor. I don’t like to use the face unlock with the 7 Pro because the camera has to pop up.
Oh yeah one other thing the last time I checked, the 7T has a brighter display then the 7 PRO. I have issues with view the display in sun light. Ugh!? Hats off to Samsung their displays are super bright ?
I had the International phone but I drop it had to get insurance replacement and it was a t-mobile branded phone
trying to get the back to International

I would reach out and have them correct that. Having a T-Mobile branded phone when you paid for an international isn't right. This link will help you convert that device into an International one.

I saw T-mobile website say note10+ 5g will come with Android 10, anyone can confirm?
From:T-mobile
Other than the 5G feature, how is the Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G different than the current Samsung Galaxy Note10+?
In addition to all the great features of the Samsung Galaxy Note10+, such as the large 6.8” QHD+ display, intelligent S Pen, and powerful battery, the new Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G will have the 5G-enabled modem and come with the new Android 10 OS out of the box.
What model number and CPU on 5G model?
Nice to have an intelligent response! I really can't believe I seem to be the only one that pre-ordered this phone. Usually the pre-order waiting room threads are huge.
I will let you know if it actually comes with Android 10 once I receive mine.
I'm using Note10+ and I'm still not sure 600Mhz vs mmWave. So I still planing but look like T-mobile only giving deal on pre-order

I too am trying to find the model# for this unit. I can confirm that the Note 10+ 5G for T-Mobile will only support low and mid band 5G, and mid-band only comes after the Sprint merger happens, as they own that spectrum. This model will not/never support mmWave with the truly blazing speeds.
That said, I think it's going to be a long time before we really (if ever) get to enjoy mmWave, given its inability to penetrate much. The coverage just isn't going to be there for a while. The Sprint (=> T-Mobile) spectrum seems a good compromise as it'll have better penetration plus higher speeds.
I'm planning to stop by T-Mobile store on Friday and possibly do a JUMP! upgrade from Note 9.
I have Verizon 5G N976V on TMB and not picking up any 5G yet. From what I read Verizon has Qualcomms's X50 modem chip while ATT and TMB will have X55 modem for different bands - go figure
Is this really 5G? The coverage map shows WAY too big of an area. Looks like LTE-E.

Why are you sharing this with us?
Is the T Mobile 5G Variant something special?
Is it specially hard to get?
Pre ordered mine. Actually cheaper than a regular note10 plus right now somehow for me.
Imagine this one is bootloader unlocked like the sprint 5g Samsungs!

EE Released the Note 10+ 5G model at launch. Ive had my phone since August.
As others have stated though, Android 10 wont be released until Jan 2020. A few device may get it leaked early (I think one is already reported) But Samsung do this every release.
An official build gets leaked to a few devices early. Unsure the purpose of this, if its marketing or a hope it leaks out so they can get a few last fixes in before official release.
it has 256gb and im not happy about that.
i have a line unused i will use for this phone. i plan to walk into a store friday to pick one up. the tforce rep didnt give me a nice feeling that the phone would be in my hands by friday if ordered online. i prefer to go the unlocked route and was hoping sammy would have it on their site but no luck yet.
im getting one simply because im an early adopter of electronic products, and here in LA my frequented areas are in 5g. I do understand its 600mhz spectrum...
I can buy a Note 10+ or Note 11+ (sometimes called Note 20+) unlocked for cash. I want to get the version that will run on T-Mobile (Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or 865 chipset). Can I root the phone if I buy it unlocked or is the fact that it is T-Mobile compatible with the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset already blocked from rooting?
What new top-of the line androids that run on T-Mobile can be rooted?

Since note 8 you can run any note 8 or newer on any carrier. I believe every note has something like 7 radios? Rooting is a real mess now and won't work with Samsung Pay and other cool features in many cases.

Buying an "unlocked" phone means it is network/carrier unlocked and has nothing to do with the bootloader/root.
The US note 10+ whether carrier branded/locked (SM-N975U) or the network unlocked model from Samsung (SM-975U1) can not be rooted at this time.
Exynos or the Chinese variant (N9750) can be rooted, but I believe some compatibility issues (i.e. only being able to use 4G and not LTE, Samsung pay not being available, etc) may/will be a problem. Of the two I have seen while reading the forum the N9750 seems to be the better option (I have no way to confirm this myself, so ymmv) for use with T-Mobile.
The Note 20 has not been released yet. Far too early to ask about root for the model, but compatibility wise I am sure all the major carriers will have a carrier branded variant for sale (this includes T-Mobile). Unlocked model would most likely work for the most part, but factoring in what would work out of the box (or would require flashing the carrier branded firmware) is a coin flip or magic 8 ball question. Since the phone hasn't even hit the shelves for sale all I could do is give you theories and educated guesses, but if I had too offer a theory or educated guess I would say it would be like the Note 10+ U1 model.

Scott,
Is it not possible then to remove the T Mobile bloat from my Note 10+? I would like to load the stock samsung rom if possible but no matter how I try with Odin I can't get it to overwrite the T Mobile rom. After every reboot I am greeted with that annoying pink screen.
