At&t zforce2 how to remove all at&t warez and make stock? - Moto Z2 Force Questions & Answers

I picked up a at&t phone off eBay and I work off a regional carrier that doesn't have this phone. Is there any generic firmware that will still get updates like a blanket Motorola version? Or am I stuck with rooting and using someone's packaged rom to get away from at&t customized stock rom?
Been a while since I've rooted and changed firmwares on my phones so I apologise for the noob question.
Thanks

If you are talking about normal OTA update then you should be fine

in a few days i will test flashing the retail firmware to my at&t device and will let you know more then if it works or not.

Awesome. Thanks. Yes would love to remove the at&t apps and branding from this phone.

Any luck??

still waiting for my new device in the mail.

[Q] GalaxyNote2 N7105 start up screen issue

Hi everyone i am new to this.
Basiclly I have a Galaxy Note 2 LTE and i recently flashed a stock rom of Jelly Bean 4.1.2
My problem is before i flashed it, my startup and shut down was the stock Samsung one and now its the annoying T-mobile one
After flashing it also installed a few T-mobile apps and also T-mobile ringtones. Can someone tell me how to get back to the original Startup animation and also how to remove all this T-mobile crap!
You flashed a T-Mo branded firmware. Flash any unbranded on from sammobile and branded apps and boot logos will revert to sammy ones.

Haha just do what he said and flash a stock firmware.
You can just replace the startup and shutdown animation files if you want. But its easier to just flash an unbranded rom if you don't know what your doing. All your apps and data should stay in place.
Zip included just in case. Ps this zip is not for flashing, do im manually with root explorer Instructions included.
thanks for all the replies.
this rom i flashed wasnt an official UK one and it said nothing about t-mobile. it said i needed an unlocked phone before flashing so was kinda shoked to see the t-mobile logo lol.
so do i just wait for the stock UK rom to come out then???
thanks again
It has already came out

I'd imagine it would be rather odd seeing a network logo on an unlocked phone!

Yes, no UK one is out yet for unlocked. I'm waiting for the O2 or unlocked one. But I think it doesn't matter which one you use since it's only the first initial start up screen will come in that particular language, so you could use another countries. I just want to wait Should come out some time this month, if not in a few days.

AT&T Galaxy S III unlocked

Hello,
Sorry if this was asked before but i couldnt find it in the search as its coming up with numerous returns on something else.
Anyways, I bought an AT&T s3 rooted and i was able to put it back to stock with Android 4.0.4. After i put it back to stock i got it unlocked to use on T-Mobile.
My questions are,
how do i update the software to the latest version. do i update it with AT&T software or do i use the T-Mobile software version?
If I update it again will it get locked again?
Rooting is not really an option as it is for my daughters use
thank you in advance for any replies,
V

If you update i believe it will no longer be unlocked to use on T-Mobile. However you do need to use the AT&T ROMs for it to work on your phone.
so is it best to root the phone and update it that way.

You can try updating the phone using the phone's OTA updater. It may not work if you have root.
I don't recommend updating all the way to 4.3 as it will load a 4.3 bootloader which cannot be downgraded and Knox.

[Q] T-Mobile branded S3 somehow became AT&T.

When I received my S3, it was on a T-Mobile branded stock firmware 4.1.1. I wanted to try CyanogenMod, so I installed it, but didn't like it.
Here's where my problem begins. Upon wiping my phone back to stock to get rid of CyanogenMod, I find that it's now AT&T branded, despite the physical phone being a T-Mobile T999.
I tried rooting it and using CSC changers, but those tell me that the PreconfigUI is SingleCSC, and thus apparently unchangeable.
What I want to do is somehow get my phone back to T-Mobile branded stock.
P.S. I do not have a MicroSIM yet.

Can you go to your phone's settings => about device and check what the firmware settings are? Let's see what you have under firmware version, baseband version & build number. If possible, you may post a screen shot. Did you say you returned to stock by wiping your phone? Hardly seems likely and you would have probably needed to flash some firmware. Would you recall what you flashed?
Thanks for stepping up. My phone's info is:
Android Version is 4.1.1
Baseband is I747UCDLK3
Build is JRO03L.I747UCDLK3
I did not flash any firmware, as I had no reason to.

It's definitely on AT&T firmware. Apologies if I sound like I'm doubting you but are you certain it had T-Mobile firmware when you acquired it? I'd guess it was probably already an AT&T phone. If you bought it in the secondary market, there could have been some previous repairs involving parts swaps. Your safest bet may be to leave it as is and unlock for you use on T-Mobile. Trying to force on T-Mobile firmware now could result in a brick. As it is on 4.1.1, you can easily free unlock it by following the well tested method you'll find elsewhere in this forum.
No apologies needed. I forgot to state that the phone was purchased with the T-Mobile boot animation and bloatware already present, and that the model number printed below the battery is T999. I've got no clue if there was a parts swap or not. Is the method to unlock that's posted elsewhere that you're referring to the one that begins with you dialing *#197328640#? If so, i've tried it but never got the unlock message to show.

There could have been a previous JTag operation involving forced firmware installation on the MB. I've seen previous hybrid firmware involving one or other partition belonging to a different model - e.g. the modem, bootloader or something else but not the complete system.
Yes, that's the unlock method I was referring to. You won't get any confirmation that the process worked at the end. However, if you did it correctly, you would know it worked when you insert a non-compatible SIM card and it works. You should also be able to install T-Mobile apps especially the Wi-Fi calling app which is a really nice feature of T-Mobile.
I'm getting it microSIM'ed tomorrow. I'll see how that goes.
UPDATE: Successfully obtained and installed T-Mobile microSIM. Still wish to replace AT&T boot animation and bloatware with T-Mobile's, though.

OK. I'd be interested in knowing the outcome but I'll be surprised if it isn't unlocked already. Did some further research and there have been some reports of people successfully 'flashing' AT&T firmware on T-Mobile phones, and vice versa. Not sure why this should happen and conventional logic suggests the result should be a hard brick which is indeed the most common outcome. I'll also suggest you boot into download mode and see the information under bootloader. If the device has a T-Mobile bootloader, it may be possible to remove the OS via custom recovery and re-flash T-Mobile firmware.
Download mode currently gives Product Name as SGH-I747. Wiping AT&T OS via custom recovery and then installing the proper one sounds like a good lead. I eagerly await your instruction

If download mode info shows secure bootloader enabled, the phone is, to all intents and purposes, now an AT&T phone. Attempting to flash T-Mobile firmware may likely result in a brick which would require a JTag fix. I was hoping download mode would show it still had a T-Mobile bootloader which could have allowed for safe firmware installation but this does not appear to be the case. Likely the motherboard was previously replaced or it suffered a brick and AT&T firmware was JTagged on. Either way, it would be safer to leave it as is.
Bummer. I'll leave it as is then. Thank you for all the help.

[Q] Buying M8. Bell Variant, Need to switch it to Rogers for OTA Update

Hi guys,
I am going to purchase a M8 locked on the Bell network and I will be using it on the Rogers network. Naturally it will come as a CID of BM_0001 from what I have read up with and I will get the Bell OTA to 5.01 when I receive it. I am wondering if its worth the work to convert it over to a Rogers CID to then get the OTA for Rogers or to simply ignore that fact and flash a Rogers nandroid over my Bell 5.01 once I upgrade? I simply don't want the Bell bloatware but don't mind the Rogers bloatware as some will be used.
Umm just an aside but Rogers base might have more bloat then Bell... Rogers base includes Rogers bloat + Fido bloat. It's really annoying. Although you can delete all bloat even though it comes preinstalled like a system app...
That doesn't sound bad. I know I can root the device and uninstall any of the Bell bloat and then install the Rogers bloat that I want or if I ever decide to do it. I am just wondering if the modems would effect my cell signal. Plus any OTA upgrades in the future will be easier to do.
I've been using the Rogers base and really like it so far. Some of the best battery life I have ever had... If I was you I would just do the full conversion. However, Bells base might be great as well, I have never tried it.

Thank you!
It seems like I will have to first boot up the phone, download the sunshine apk and pay $25 to s-off the phone. Then proceed to change the MID to 0P6B16000 (ROGERS), then change my CID to ROGER001. Then download and flash the nandroid backup of the Rogers 3.34.631.4 - TWRP Thanks to exocetdj. Then extract the recovery.img from the Rogers image and flash that to the phone with fastboot. The phone should then be able to boot into the Rogers NAND image and I should be able to upgrade to the OTA and any further ones following that.
Hopefully I don't screw up any of the necessary steps.

Is it possible to flash a Tmobile firmware to a Verizon Note7?

Since Tmobile is not allowed to sell new Note7s yet, I want to purchase one from Verizon. However, I heard that some Note7 features are removed by Verizon, so I want to use the firmware of Tmobile. Can I do that without root and without any other side effect? Can I get OTA from Tmobile in the future?
Yes for flashing t-mobile. I don't know about the ota

Do you mean there will not be any other side effect for flashing? So basically after flashing it is the same as the ones come from tmobile, right?
Anyone know whether I can get OTA or not?
