I just switched upgraded from an LG G6 to the P2XL. I had read somewhere (just can't remember where) that Pixel supports Caller ID over BT. I have a set of around the neck earbuds and it would be nice to get notified who is calling me on an incoming call. I tried Enhanced SMS & Caller ID+ but it didn't read me the Caller ID over BT. Can this be done on the Pixels?
Thank you

Works fine on my Plantronics Bluetooth headset
Are you using the same app? Maybe I have something misconfigured.
FWIW: I'm using the Spigen Legato Arc
It depends on your BT headset and if it supports that feature. The Pixel had the profile.

All,
I am considering getting a SE HBH 662 bluetooth headset which has caller id display. Now my question is will this work with my T-Mobile MDA III ( I am using bluetooth build 3900) and will the caller id display on the BT?
Also when pairing the BT to my MDA III I am using the Hands-free/Headset setup - is this correct?
Thanks

I am not sure about the 662. But I recently purchased a SE 660 and the voice quality is not bad for the most part. The 660 does not seem to have noise cancellation feature, therefore driving and talking with the window down is not possible, the listener complains that there is excessive ambient noise.
Only the headset profile seem to work with my pda2k BT 3900. I am told that the pda2k does not (yet) support the handsfree profile. So you will not be able to do voice dial, caller id number does not seem to work all the time, there is no suport for caller id name support either.

Have you guys experienced any of the crackling noise on any other units, and if so have you noticed it on the hbh units you were talking about? Because I can learn to drive with the window up, but this excessive crackling is rediculous.

So just to confirm,
The HBH662 does not allow voice dialing and also the caller id sometimes works but does not display the name of the person calling just the number?
Thanks

Has anyone tried a bluetooth headset with caller id which works with the jasjar/mda pro?
I have Sony Ericsson HBH-662, it works fine on XDA IIi, so it should work on jabra.
There is a discussion for this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=28320
The current conclusion is still, either go with SonyEricsson HBH-662 BT or the Jabra BT-800. But both still have problem displaying the caller ID, both will display the number instead of the contact name.
There is another review about the BT headset topic (very detail):
http://pocketpcdubai.com/i-mate_PPC/jasjar/reviewp4.html
I'm personally waiting until something better comes out unless you can live today with 'number only' caller ID.

Unfortunately it's not the fault of the headsets that they only display the number. Both my HBH-660 and BT800 display the caller name with my se P910i.
HTC do not pass the caller name to the headset. None of their phones do. It's a crying shame.
I use HBH-200 that shows incoming callers number - but no nae im afraid tested it a mates xda-exec and it did display caller number-will give it a more intense workout onc iget my exec
it is a shame id love to get a bluetooth device like the HBH-200 that shows the callers name!!!! the 200 only does that with my v800

Hello,
I've had my Tilt2 for 2 months now and am ready to get a headset. After many searches I can't find a definitive list of headsets that are working/ not working correctly.
I'm using a stock ROM and have the Tilt2 2 tweaked to 43% memory usage on boot-up. The phone is fast and everything works correctly. Also using SPB mobile Shell.
Has anyone tied in the Bluetooth 2.1 vs 2.0 headsets with correct operation? I want the voice command, audio passthrough, and buttons to work correctly.
Maybe we can start a list of Phone - ROM version - Headset - Whats working/not working.
I'm mainly concerned with the stock ROM but any info may assist others.
Thanks
Jim O
Well, I have the Jawbone Prime & Motorola HX-1 and both work fine.
Motorola H710 works fine as well.
Thanks for the info. Does the voice command work for making calls and you can also hear music files and audio from websites?
Thanks Jim O
Surely more folks can contribute to a good list. Lets get some more response going. This could be of great benefit to one and all.
Thanks!!!!!
Samsung WEP 850 with voice command works just fine.
The Sony DRBT100CX stereo bluetooth earbuds also work very well with the Tilt 2. All A2DP/AVRC audio and handsfree calling functions are supported. Nice bargain at $50 as well.
Yes, but...
... has anyone found a BT headset that announces the incoming caller ID over it instead of the phone's speaker?
I've tried a couple of older as well as one new BT headset. All pair and work flawlessly with my Tilt 2, but none of them will announce the incoming caller ID over the headset as it did with my original Tilt.
Yeh, I'm pretty sure this was a screwup in the Widcomm BT stack but just want to make sure. FYI, HTC tech support states that none of their phones do this! When I asked 'em why the old Tilts did, I didn't get any more response.
Well, I picked up a new Motorola H17 12/30/09. Everything works as advertised, except the incoming caller announcement (on phone announcement only). This headset was released only a couple months ago with the latest Bluetooth 2.1 and all the other amenities so this problem does seem to be a problem with the stack.
On a side note, this headset works great. Get ALL phone sounds transferred and also volume control on both the phone and headset. Works great with streaming video/audio. And it is loud, usually have it set to mid volume. Also, I bought it from an AT&T store ($80) and he stated that if anything goes wrong with it for 1 year just bring it in and he will replacement.

I have the Jabra HALO and works wonderfully well with my TP2, running Win6.5

The manager @ my local AT&T store has a Tilt 2 using a Blue Ant Q1 bluetooth & he says that his BT does all these things. I just ordered one so I will let you know when I get it. FYI he was using a Jawbone prior to the Q1.

I got my Blue Ant Q1 and it does announce the incoming calls over the blue tooth & your text messages, e-mail, reminders, your music- I like it. If you turn "announce incoming call off" in voice command it will not announce them over the speaker on the phone. I bought mine off e-bay for $48.99.
I can't seem to find an app the will speak Caller ID over A2DP. My favorite app is Enhanced SMS + Caller ID+ because it uses the native Google Speech Recognition engine. SMS announcements come over the bluetooth connection but caller ID only through phone speaker. Seems most apps I've tried have this issue. Is it an O/S issue or specific to the phone or the bluetooth headset? (Im actually using Blue Trip to interface to my car's analog aux audio input.)

Thanks. I gave it a try and it didn't read my phone caller id through the Bluetooth speaker.
Supposedly this is a limitation in Android 4.1.x that there have been reports it is fixed/allowed in Android 4.2.x
Hi,
I am using Plantronics M55 headset with G3. What I am looking is simple application, that will announce through M55 caller name.
I found many such announcers, but some do not work with bluetooth at all, some insist on announcing always, even if headset is not connected, some announce after big delay (and do not work with BT), etc.
So the question is - is there free/payed application that supports automatic announcing of the caller name through BT, and only if BT headset is connected ?
10x.

Hi,
Maybe try Tasker or a similar app to switch on/off the announcer app when your phone connects to your BT headset.
