my phone does not flash when I take a picture even with the flash enable or in auto.
Can you try using a Flashlight or similar app to check whether flash turns on as torch?

Cool. Then its not a hardware issue. You can try reinstalling the camera app (If u have not already tried it).

How long ago did it stop working, was it after a update?
Just double checking. The flashlight works every time.... and if not you tried the hardware test right? This was a known issue on the 920's

the material does not have problem, it is at the level of the capture of the picture that it does not flash since in video mode it works perfectly.

yes I have done uninstall it and then reinstall.
You are basically taking shots in the dark on this (no pun intended)
Maybe list out all the things you have done, what OS version, and update the issue started occuring....not sure who can offer help on this or what you are willing to do.
Go back to 8.1 if you cannot figure it out. Swap the back cover just to see...
I can think of only 3 scenarios:
-OS update caused
-App udpate caused
-Signs of Hardware degredation--meaning to turn torch on takes different voltage/amps then a burst (camera flash), or is triggered differently. Maybe something on the board is not working right in conjunction with the app. If you rollback to 8.0 you will know for sure on this.
it was after a update.

I have tried everything, installed every single rom on xda, but i can't make the rotation and motion sensors to work. They used to work, until i flashed the leaked 4.3 stock from samsung... after about a week they stopped working. Out of the blue really, the phone has no dents or bumps.. any solution?

Well you can't go on landscape mode.. calibration does nothing. Can't use apps that depend on gyroscope.
The motion features won't work at all, non of them. Quick glance etc.

cant get dual effects, i have done everything they told me to do on reddit. no finger covering lens, and automatic shooting, all that. i got it as an insurance replacement so its probably a refurb. let me know what i can do to hopefully fix it

Try reseting the device. Are you running 4.4.3 or 4.4.4?
Literally just replaced my phone under warranty because of this problem, and the replacement has the same problem. My GF just got a Verizon M8 running 4.4.4 and her camera works fine. I'm currently running 4.4.2

Ok, I think the issue is with the update to the HTC Gallery App. I have the exact same issue, but if I go into Settings > Apps > Gallery > Uninstall Updates everything works fine. As soon as I install the update for Gallery again I get the same error when applying Duo effects.
Using the stock camera app whenever I take a a picture without HDR on it turns all green. I have tried clearing the cache/data for the camera app as well as using safe mode and it does not change anything. I sideloaded the stock google camera apk and it works fine with and without HDR. Here is a video of it in action.

Just tried enabling RAW and it does not change anything. It seems to only like taking picture when HDR is on and HD is off. As soon as you turn HD on or turn HDR off stuff starts to **** up.

That's weird, guess there's more than one issue with the camera. Mine also used to freeze mid picture and crash the app without the RAW option.

No night button on camera app 3.0.8. I use ob22 pie. How I can it enable?
The camera itself supports night mode, and you can enable it through shared_prefs, it'll give you the button, you can use it to take pictures, but it does not use night mode actually. It's not working, because we don't have the required libs in order to use the night mode. I've tried it as well earlier.

Just because the option is hidden doesn't mean they're working on it. I'm assuming they have a common base for the stock camera app, and hide features depending on the phone model. If I was you, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Hi,
For some reason, got an update from samsung this morning, latest One UI 2.5.
After updating my Gcam stopped working, tried several different apps but
still stops and closes when opened. Any ideas???

That's a little concerning. Can you download Camera2 API Probe from the Play store and see if the camera still supports RAW capture?
Also try this specific gcam to see if it works for you https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/NGCam_7.4.104-v1.4_snapcam.apk

Ok,
Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow. I've been trying different developers versions to see if I get lucky.
Samsung must have done something in the 2.5 update to OneUi that caused it for me.

So I tried Hypercam. When I switched to the telephoto it completed crashed. Wipe data and got everything back. Front-facing camera just hangs.
I spent a good amount of time yesterday trying different GCam versions. Some partially worked, namely some HyperCam versions and TrCamera versions. Couldn't seem to get the front camera working on any versions, however. No matter what RAW and Viewfinder format I chose, the front camera would either hang, or cause the app to crash. I rooted through as many settings as I could think to change around to get the front camera working, but nothing was working for me. So I would imagine that the versions that are closing immediately may have some sort of front camera configuration that is now not playing nice after the 2.5 update.
Definitely very strange, hoping a dev can nail this down, because I have been trying to use Samsung's camera app and, boy it's just not comparable to GCam, especially the front camera.

Looks like both those IDs on the update don't allow RAW capture. That must be part of the problem. Do you know if it is fixable?
