HTC one M9 reboot loop - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I have this problem never seen before.
I've opened already my HTC one m9 and physically he didn't have any problem but it seems it have the power button locked. The phone is in a reboot loop and I can do nothing. I have already rooted the phone and have, in the past, some problem like stock in bootloader or bricked phone. But now it's different. I don't have possibility of stop this loop. The only chance I hade once it starts is disconnect the battery. If I start the phone it start the loop and, if I enter the bootloader wit the combo (down button + power button) the phone start a new reboot loop with the grey logo of the bootloader. Please help me I don't know really what I have to do. Sorry for my bad English and I hope I'm in the correct section.

[Q] HELP ! ! !

Hi all,
I wanted to put a new ROM on my Touch Diamond p3700, and managed to bust it.
I followed the MTTY guide from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
I got through the steps OK, but at some point, after restarting the device I noticed that it stop booting.
It would display only TOUCH diamond, and that's it. No other red numbers with RGD.
I tried a hard reset. Nothing. I also did a hard reset with a moviNAN format, and nothing. (though I think this might have made matters worse)
I tried a RUU, and it stays at 0% for a couple of minutes and then gives an error on the PC.
I tried an original ROM, but it says Not allowed for this Vendor ID (goes up to 1%).
I tried Hard SPL 1.24 a couple of times but this also stays at 0% for a couple of minutes and then gives an error.
I am totally out of ideas, but I'm only an extreme beginner, so I do hope there will be a solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
check ur pm. provide me a complete update report btw. from 1-infinity what you did...
jus one question though. did u do hard spl after mtty and BEFORE flashing?

This is a board and not a private chat. A solution should be discussed in public, so maybe later, someone will find this and solve the problem. He will never find your PM... Do you understand that?

do a little more digging before you go on. this forum is cluttered with all sorts of "stuck in bootloader" requests and solutions. i only mean to save this clutter and in the process atleast even a kb on the servers of this forum..
these things have been discussed in the open and in full disclosure. but still some ppl find it hard to do search. i m saving this poor fellow from cluttering all over the forum and being bashed literally in the forum.
+ do ur research. i have replied likewise posts more than 2 times. so i think its best to go pm.
--->> and IF THE SCENARIO **IS NEW AND DIFFERENT from the typical "wrong rom wrong spl and stuck in bootloader" problems ** (which i highly doubt) and also if it is valuable to the forum i will post all my pm's related.
EDIT: See this post which was posted TODAY : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=862690
Now you see what i mean? So hope YOU understand!
Did he put his phone in BL mode after MTTY? I guess this is the situation.
After MTTY please hold VolDown pressed while you press reset button. After BootLoader connect your phone to USB and flash your ROM.

Bricked Device after partially using HTC ONE V AIO Kit by Hasoon2000

Hello everyone,
After unlocking my HTC One V PrimoU (simcard version) bootloader succesfully, flashing clockworkmod succesfully using HTC ONE V AIO Kit by Hasoon2000 my phone rebooted one last time and after that turned into a brick.
- Holding Power 30 seconds: Doesn't respond / no LED
- Plugging in Power: Doesn't respond / no LED
- Plugging in PC: Doesn't respond / NO LED / Unable to recognise QHUSB_DLOAD
I've searched through the forum's and I'm not sure if I did the Power+VolumeUP combination.. but yea can't find any more information and I think my only option is to bring it back to my carrier-store with some "inconvenient excuse".
QUESTIONS:
- Am I able to repair this on my own?
- Am I able to bring this to my carrier to get it fixed without me getting into trouble? (Are my actions "easily" traceable?)
- What kind of "inconvenience" could have caused this?
- What did I do wrong?
Kind Regards,
Narayan

First, I would remove what you did right before that. I will put 100% certainty and my rep on the line it wasn't specifically that mod that made it happen. And its just ****ty to call out a rom for a brick. It was going to happen even if you just rebooted. Ask Lloir. Its a known issue with the primou phones. Check development for a possible fix. It might work and it might not.

Its not very easy to repair ur phone by yourself. Try the fix added in the one v general section. If that doesnt work out, go to the htc support centre and
-Pretend you dont know what rooting means
-act like and elderly grandmom who just got her hands on a smartphone
-If they still keep on asking how it became bricked, say that u were trying to take a snapshot and most probably kept on pressing vol up+power
If they guy is convinced that you did not try to root, he'll replace urs for free
Cheers

they will not replace it for free. they will try and see why you have it bricked. if the system partition is untouched, you are somewhat f**ed because then you will need to pay for the service.
if they cannot see anything inside, all the partitions are fried, they will replace the mainboard. not the whole phone.
...another one bites the dust...
First off, let me just clarify that this is clearly a fookup on HTC's part primarily.
That being said, this forum needs to have more thorough and consistent WARNINGS about this issue on EVERY post that has to do with unlocking/rooting/flashing your HTC ONE device.
No guides I read here mentioned specifically of this issue when instructing you to hold the power and volume buttons together.
It's just unbelievably awesome to see this post here after going through the process of bricking my phone 5 minutes ago. We have a full thread dedicated to this, yet none of the custom ROM guides refer to it.

The key combo "brick" isn't really a brick. So go look through development forum for a post by globatron for unbricking. You are in a engineering state. His tool will get you out of it

DUDE!
For the last couple of weeks, you've been posting this to multiple threads over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
Your phone is indeed hard bricked. If you could fix it yourself, you would have had an answer telling you how to do so by now.
You have two choices:
#1: Send it in for repairs
#2: Buy a new phone
You may not know of the rules here on XDA, but you can read them here
Please take note of rule #5:
5. Create a thread or post a message only once.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer.
It's time for you to admit to yourself the obvious. You can't fix it on your own

As stated before, xda will not tolerate spam post. Let this be a warning, do not open another thread about this issue or post this issue in someone elses thread. i see you have posted more than enough. please wait patiently for someone to help you if the can. This isnt a site for quick customer service report nor your personal diagnostic center.
thank you

Clearly you don't understand how a hard brick works. No offense to you, and I hope you can learn, but please heed the other users' advice and do some research and stop spamming.

There is nothing to continue, either send it in for repair or buy a new phone. It's not 100% software, it's properly bricked ! Please stop being so stubborn and take the advice.
Getting all the resources and information/effort to fix it "yourself" will at least be equal or cost even more than letting it done by HTC. Even a repair shop couldn't help you.......let it go
Edit :
Now you contacted me via PM, that won't help either. The thread you linked there is for a different phone, different partition layout, different files needed. That specific post was created in April.....and still hasn't found all the needed info and files that are required.
That's all i have to say about it. I think all the several posts and threads you created said enough and the 2 best options are given several times now.

I had a similar issue once and it was the micro switch under the volume button itself being stuck. Have you had any issues with the volume sticking either up or down before?
No nothing like that m8. Ill double check that though.... i think its software issue..

Sorry it couldn't have been something as simple as that. May I suggest that you re-post your issue in the M8 help area of the forum located at, https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help ?
That area seems to receive more traffic by experienced users than this one, so hopefully someone can point you in the right direction as there aren't many dinosaurs like us left using "antique" novelty items like the M8 anymore.

Better to report the thread and the mods will move it. Otherwise, it doesn't really fix the problem (thread in the wrong place) but actually makes it worse (multiple threads in different sections, both asking the same question).
I'll ask the mods to move the thread.

Would be helpful to know what the errors say.
If it says "remote not allowed" it is because your bootloader is locked. It needs to be bootloader unlocked (via HTCDev.com), in order to flash custom recovery TWRP.
