bought a new galaxy nexus for 599.99 on febuary and already there is problems with losing signals and biggest problem of all is that my phone wont charge the only way to charge it is to turn it off and charge and that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt i have to keep unplugging and plugging back the usb.
i read alot about this issue on google and samsung is not doing about it.
so i called samsung i dont know where thier call centre is i called from canada. and spoke to a manager to send my phone for repair and told him can you make this quicker cause he was slow and my movie at theatre was gonna start in 10 mins and already been talking to this manager for 15 mins. and he puts me on hold and comes back after 6 mins and ask for my email. and i told him my email and i wanted to make sure he got it right and got him to repeat it for me. OMG THIS GUY WAS STUPID AS HELL I SWEAR TO GOD HE GOT IT WRONG MORE THAN 12 TIMES. so i told him i have to go to movie and im not gonna repeat myself so you better get it right this time. and he got it wrong again im 100% sure he was doing it on purpose so i told him . LISTEN repeat it again and say it correctly and he said IM SORRY BUT FOR SECURITY ISSUE I HAVE TO HANGUP THE CALL. and the guy hangup on me im soo pissed at this and at samsung that i will never ever buy a samsung phone or recommend it to my customer. i went to samsung galaxy s3 training and told the canada head manager she didnt even acknowledged me thats bs.

Well let's see.
#1 did you get your USB port wet? Because I had the charging issues you describe with the fantastic combination of a wet USB port, and a crappy, cheap USB cable.
#2 The signal issue is a pretty well documented 4.0.4 issue. You're on xda, ffs. Upgrade or downgrade your radio.
I never understood why people say "I will never buy a product from this company again!!" after having a bad experience with one of the products / representatives. It just sounds like you got a lemon and a bad representative to speak to.
Yeah well if you get uppity with customer service people they won't react well, you get a lot further by being polite. You were poetically the 27th person he spoke to that morning and he was probably busting for a leek and his lunch was probably getting cold and the last two people he spoke to were probably jerks as well and its not really his fault your phone is faulty but everyone yells at him as if he broke their phones personally.
I am in a customer service role and when people start yelling at me for things which are beyond my control, I loose all interest in helping them. Sometimes if they're really annoying I will deliberately lead them astray, put them on hold or transfer them to people who can't help them. On the other hand if people approach me in a more respectful way I'm more than happy to go the extra mile for them.
Maybe if you grew up and showed a bit more compassion you might get better results. Customer service people are human beings and have needs and emotions just the same as you do so you have no right to treat them like punching bags on which to vent your frustration.

I had damaged USB port on Galaxy S II and to avoid all that hassle i simply went to Samsung service center and asked them to repair it as out of warranty product. Two days + 30€ and i had my phone back.
Also this happened to my GNex, but this time it was enough to plug in my wifes charger (from Desire S) and it started to charge again. Since then i always use HTC charger
Are you by any chance a 14 year old girl?

+1. I had a feature phone once with a dead usb port. Of course my daughter was teething at the time and had found it...
Come to think of it, it was a Samsung too. Stupid Samsung.

Im really annoyed that I have to write this...I had to get a replacement Galaxy Nexus and when I realized that my original one had a screen burn in problem...the replacement had a really bad blueish/purplish tint to it and so I sent in for a new one...and I got a new replacement that has the exact same issue as the last one.
Im seriously at a loss of what to do, because this is really annoying.
Should I get another replacement? Or is this screen issure normal?(I didnt have this problem on my original)
My friend told me to go down to the store and demand a brand new phone straight out of the box...he said it work for him once.

get the phone replaced again if its blueish purple under 30 percent or so, or try franco's kernel and app and adjust the gamma + contrast down, fixed it for me
I was sent a replacement refurb that had the tint problems, they then sent me a new boxed one which has been fine...
There's a huge conversation about this literally two threads up. Keep exchanging until you get a good one. Be ready for many arguments over the phone, since Verizon and Google refuse to acknowledge that this is a problem.

How were you finally able to get them to give you a brand new one...the guy at the VZW store was hassling me and he said there is nothing he can do about it....then I called Verizon customer support and they told me to call samsung...Samsung told me that I have to send my phone to them for repair...but then I will be without a phone for a week
NONE OF THEM ARE LETTING ME GET A NEW PHONE!
This crap is so annoying.
I guess Im going to try to get one last replacement -_____- since they wont budge on giving me a new phone....the last option I have after that is sending it to Samsung for repair.
Hello all,
About a week ago my nexus stopped charging all of a sudden and then the charging indicator started to show up while the phone is not plugged. I researched the problem and I found out it's actually a hardware issue and a lot of people have it.
My problem is that I bought my phone from Abu Dhabi and it doesn't have warranty. Now, I am back for college (in the States) and my phone is now dead. I am not sure what to do!? I know that Samsung USA doesn't fix GSM Nexus phones since I called them once.
Any thoughts? should I contact Google? Is there any trusted place that I can send my phone to for repair?
That sucks with out warranty or Insurance thru your carrier your pretty much screwed...Go on EBay an get your self a new phone...

Doesn't google sell them? shouldn't they be able to fix it? I mean I wouldn't mind paying as long as it doesn't cost much. I already had to fix it once when my motherboard got fried and had to pay friggin' $272!!!
Come on guys use your brains, you bought a phone with removal battery for a reason. I'll make this easy for you
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-GT-i9250-Compatible-International-GT-i9250/dp/B006N9OZ8U/ref=pd_sxp_grid_pt_1_1
just buy this, charge a battery, then you never need a charger again, unless you need to copy files, then your screwed
This is honestly the cheapest alternative to your problem, but if you really need a working usb, then go on craiglist or ebay.
Lol, maybe I didn't make myself clear when I said hardware issue. I do use my brain sir, but what I meant is that the charging port is not working properly. If it was only a charger issue then I would've bought a charger but it's not.
charging port as in usb right? usb that's part of the phone? Your battery is dead right? I'm saying charge your battery externally without the phone. I'm sorry am I just not understanding? I'm just giving advice to turn your phone on lol not fix it.

You are correct. It is possible to take the battery out of the phone and place that battery onto an adapter on a wall socket. Never even touching the USB port on the phone.

The problem is that my computer doesn't recognize my phone cause of the usb port damage. Even when my phone is off and I put in my battery without having the phone plugged it shows on screen that my phone is "charging".

So you're interested in fixing the problem and not simply having a phone that turns on? I understand, I didn't mean to be mocking either, just joking . Well in this case, you will have to buy a whole new phone sir, as far as I know. Sorry I could not assist
Isn't there any private company/website in this bigass country and could repair my phone?! lol.
Considering that Google sells unlocked GSM units to Americans, I'm surprised to hear Samsung won't fix them.
Where in the States are you? Many big cities have a number of small shops where mainly Asian imported cell phones are sold, and they'll sell unlocking and reflashing services, and they'll offer repairs for just about anything. If you're in a small college town that might be more difficult. Up here in Vancouver BC, when I accidentally jammed a microSD into the SIM slot of a Huawei tablet and couldn't get it out, I went to an Asian mall in the suburbs and got it fixed perfectly.
No intention to stereotype here btw - most of the leading mobile devices are manufactured in Asia, which means a lot of the bleeding edge devices get imported before they're released here, and a lot of shops appear to be run by people who have connections to the countries they're importing from.

The device is not recognizing the battery for some reason.
Is it an OEM battery, aftermarket battery, a battery that took a swim, etc., etc.
Are you able to boot into ODIN/Download mode?
The first real hit on Google discusses it for 15 pages. I'd Odin the stock image. That fixed it when it happened to me:

Hello thanks for answering friends jejej the good thing is that the PC recognizes the galaxy s4 and already I got the rom the stock original tmobile by Odin and i also told him other baterria but it continues to be the same by giving me the problem of temperature does not know if it is that the motherboard Mmmm will be bad but when I come to download mode i get two options by saying that it is custom mmm and i contacted the original rom i will have to take it out with triangle away malfunction if is that here I put some images so that they can see i hope route a solution to that, thanks
Can you answer the battery question re Stock, aftermarket, etc.
Change the battery and see what happens.
Is the original battery, if it was originally OEM, damaged in any way.
Swim in the pool, etc. etc.....
If it ain't being recognized, it may not be charging.
Is it being charged, it's possible even though not showing.
But in this case law, I think the battery, contacts of device battery compartment, etc. may be damaged.
But you need to rule this out or in as per my posts......
The battery may be completed discharged.
Over discharged which can be a dangerous condition.
I advise you test another OEM battery, and to discontinue use of ccurrent battery from a safety standpoint.
Better safe than sorry, as they say
Well, I already tried another battery for my another galaxy s4 that i have but i keep getting this problem and the galaxy s4. It was neither wet nor by water or other liquid the s4 is newer and it is that the person who was the owner took him to an engineer to verify and they have made was opened the galaxy s4 and burned down by there are don't know if it was this affection that the galaxy s4

Not the battery as you say.
Then an internal issue of device most likely, but not 100% certain.
I don't know the full history of the device.
If you:
ODIN'd to stock successfully.
- Booted
-Wiped
- tried another battery
- no water damage
- replaced battery and same issue
Etc.
Sounds to me like there is a missing part of the puzzle, so to speak.
MMM for me is the motherboard that is bad already that earlier had a rom 4.3 and already I got the original tmobile rom and the Odin is detected in mode of download and I think that it's not the battery because I gave it another of s4 well, I think i'll buy a new motherboard malfunction if with that, you can operate the s4 and thanks before hand:good:
Hello guys, new member here.
So recently I've noticed a bright tiny spot on my Tab Pro 8.4 screen. Not sure if this is what is called a stuck or dead pixel because in my case it does actually change color except with black, other than that it looks like a tiny bright light, like if you held a flash light behind a screen. So my question is will this be a problem later on and I should send it for repair or this is something I can repair myself ? My device is still under Samsung warranty. I tried taking a photo with a real camera but it failed to capture it. Thanks for any help.

No, I haven't had the time for that. But I'll try going to BestBuy first see if they can take care of it. It's not a big problem, my only concern is if the glitch could grow.

Any problem related to repair, you should deal directly with Samsung unless you have warranty cover by BestBuy. All of those guys at BestBuy or Fry's Electronic cannot do any repair related to laptops or tablets, simply they're not trained to fix them, and most important: they don't have any spare parts to replace a defective one. All they can do as a middle man and send it to an authorized service center to have problem fixed. Don't waste your time at BestBuy as these geek squads cannot do any repair related to Samsung tablets.

Well, since the white spot wasn't that big of a deal I was willing to live with it... until another issue started to affect my unit. This time it was what seemed the battery, quick story: once the battery would get hot or fall bellow 40% the unit would fall in a reboot cycle, only way to stop it was to cool down the tablet in front of a fan or plugged it to the charger. So this was enough to send it in for repair. Came back and so far so good. Thanks all for your comments.
