You are not alone. XD. Me too facing the same issue.

Ok cool, I'll be happy when they're back up and running

We're aware and working on fixing it.

Just got a 5t, thought it had issues because of this!

Also happening to me for two days now

Have the same problem but I just received an update to version 1.1.3.5b and the problem seems to have gone away.

same issue

If you want to read the feed you can use Newsstand from Google and search XDA. It is the same feed.

An update was just pushed which fixes the issue, grab it now!

1.1.4b is the latest and the news feed is mentioned in the changelog.

New update has fixed it, thanks team XDA.

I was just curious as to how many people are experiencing this same problem. It happens on occasion and randomly rooted or not. I was just wondering how many of you out there are having the same issue? Only on the Evo? How often? How consistent? And if you have any fixes or ideas on what may be causing this? Its very frustrating. I have read on the Android site where this is a know issue but they didn't seem too worried about it. Any help or advice would be much obliged. Thanks in advance!
Happened to me once....bad instance too. Talking to a girl and it sent to my brother...well that didnt end well.
never happened to me
EDIT: If I'm not mistaken that bug has been fixed in 2.3.1 or 2.3.2...now just to wait for them to get the update to us.

You are correct. They closed the bug report and announced that the fix was being released two days ago. The post announcing the release also has links to the relevant patches. The announcement is here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9392#c1620
Ive had this exact same problem a few times, and the first time i had an experience similar to Locoboi187's story..

Is this a firmware update or some other kind of update? This is annoying as all hell.
It used to happen to me a lot. I always delete all my messages after I write one just to avoid any issues.

It is an update by Google...we just have to wait for HTC to sense-ify it and release it to us. Or you can try a gingerbread rom.
You could try using handcent sms instead of the stock messaging app. That is suppose to also fix the problem.

Handcent almost got me shot by my girlfriend lol... sent a FB convo to a homie, while copying and pasting his name was on the thread the whole time. Sent the message and come to find out that the ENTIRE FB convo sent to my girl instead of my homie... Needless to say handcent sms has been REMOVED lol.

Still down
Still down waiting for the mentioned 2.2. Any ETA? Received same info from Viber support via email a few days ago. Running Galaxy Nexus on 4.1
The release has been delayed a bit due to unexpected testings and fixing. We apologize for the wait.
If all goes as planned, we hope to release 2.2 within the next week or two.

[Q] Maps Latitude doesn't work within Jelly Bean

Hi!
I'm having the problem that in Jelly Bean now maps doesn't show any Latitude-friends. It says there were no friends.
I first thought this was because now I've changed my GMail domain (in Germany it first was googlemail.com and now you could switch to gmail.com), but on my Xoom running ICS and the latest maps it works all right. It's just on my GN, where it doesn't work.
Does anyone else have this problem? Or does s.o. have an idea how to fix it?
Regards
McDV
Fix for Latitude
Delete the APK /System/App/maps.apk and redownload from the market. I can now see all my latitude friends.
Just wait for the official release of JB, this version is not the last build of JB and will be very "unstable".... Why dont you guys doenst just wait ????

Why should we?
1) I generally use CM9-nightlies, so why not this?
2) It surely is not very unstable, instead, it's pretty stable. Think about it: They want to release the official version in mid july! What do you think how much they can fix until then? There might be single small bugs left, but if the system could still be considered "unstable", they wouldn't release it before fall! And they wouldn't hand out a firmware to the press, if it wasn't - over all - finish. Just imagine what the Apple-community would write in their blogs...

No one complains, we just ask for solutions that - obviously - exist. There's nothing wrong about it.
I really hate those guys with their "just wait for the official release" stuff. No one prevents you guys from waiting, but please let us enthusiasts test it and let us discuss ways to solve existing bugs on our own. If this annoys you, just don't read it! Thanks!
Glad I searched XDA for this problem - the fix worked for me too. I'm impressed with how stable the leak is already. This has been my only problem so far with native Google apps, or the ROM itself.

How in Tarnations did you manage to install Jelly Bean, if you can't figure out that you need to be rooted to do that?
Protip: I would save/backup the apk somewhere else instead of deleting it so that I can replace it when the final JB update rolls out. This way, nothing gets borked.

Just to respond to the CM9, 4.1 releasing in two-ish weeks so how could many updates occur and the Apple bit:
You say you use CM9 nightlies? Have you noticed just how many bug fixes the CM team can apply in one night? I've seen dozens, and occasionally around 100 bug fixes in a single evening. The CM team is a group (an admittedly large group for independent developers) of people who code for CM on their spare time and are not paid for their work. Imagine what a legion of official Android developers paid by Google for their work on Android could accomplish with bug fixes in a matter of a fortnight! Also, Apple releases developer previews of iOS every single year that are ALSO filled with huge bugs, broken and/or missing features, all the way up to a week or two prior to official release (and sometimes those bugs make it into multiple official releases). The reason you don't hear about the iOS bugs so much is that you have to pay for a developer's license for iOS in order to install most iOS developer previews (unless there is a workaround). In this case, 6,000 Galaxy Nexus and 6,000 Nexus 7's were given to 6,000 developers to preview the software so that they could start getting their applications ready for release. This 'release' was never intended for the end user and was probably already out of date compared to Google's internal builds by the time it came out to those 6,000 folks.
If you want to test it out too, that's awesome! However, it is completely pointless to complain about problems with software that hasn't even been officially released yet and you were never intended to be running to begin with. Also, all non-GSM Galaxy Nexus ROMs are ports and have added bugs as well. The Jelly Bean preview is largely stable and already an excellent update. I just wish Google had held onto it for the full release as users are using the preview's bugs (Google has already stated they are working on bugs they know are in the preview, and some have already been fixed) as an example of exactly what the official release will be like already.

I ask you once again: Who complained about a bug??? Please tell me! No one did! There is just a question of how to cope with an existing bug or how to fix it on our own, but not even one person in this thread complained about the release not being bugless! The only one complaining about things is you, but your complains are totally off-topic. I hope you got it now!
could anyone upload the apk?
Thanks.

[Q] Jelly Bean Gallery Slow

Hi All,
YES AT LAST! Orange/EE (UK) have finally released their Jelly Bean update :highfive:. But I've had nothing but problems with it!
After the updated I kept getting a process.media crash. Fixed by doing a clean install.
However the issue I have now, is my Gallery is unusable. It's so so so slow. It was trying to get all my facebook pics, however I stopped that in sync, but now it just takes forever to load the albums. Does anyone know of possible fixes for this? I haven't seen anyone else with this problem...

Dumpstate su request?

Hi everyone,
A couple of minutes ago I got a really random su request from something called dumpstate. Would anyone happen to know what this could be I've never seen it before.
Does anyone know some way that I could find out what app pushed the request, or possibly help find out if I actually have something malicious on my phone now?

appears to be an issue with the new SuperSU update which pushed today (v1.00).. and possibly the Note2 (and other devices). Happened to me and a few other folks on the CleanROM v4.2.5 thread. I uninstalled the SuperSU Updates ( and rolled back to v0.99), and so far... so good.

This is why I love this forum. A noob like myself can search on an issue and most likely find where one of the more seasoned members have more than likely come across it and have a potential fix or workaround! :good:

Yup... Chainfire uploaded a work-around update v1.01. (which basically is preventing the infinite dumpstate loop). Thx
Thank you for finding this. I was wondering why I started having random freezes and reboots and dump states, but haven't been able to sit down and figure it out.
Grr
