Here is an updated version of TWRP for Mi Pad 3 (Codename: Cappu). This is the latest update based on TWRP v3.2.1-0 I used TWRP by Multirom and rakomancha's TWRP as base for a working device / twrp tree for our device. I have tested this version for some hours and discovered no errors - but tell me if you find some. If you are looking for a tree for your Mediatek MT8173 / MT8176 device you can use my one as base. You should also have a look at the twrp main-thread for all neccessary changes that need to be made.

What ROM did you flash TWRP over?
Before flashing TWRP (via Method 2), I first flashed the China Stable ROM V9.2.2.0 found at en.miui.com. Touchscreen worked perfect for me

As alfiean already said you should try to flash China Stable or Developer ROM before you flash TWRP. When I flashed an older version of TWRP on my new Mi Pad 3 I mentioned touch problems, too. After flashing China Dev Rom everything worked fine.
OK, I fixed the touch issue.
By the way, this recovery seems MTP not working.

Same for other SU versions.
But with twrp-3.1.0-cappu_b4.img (by multirom.me) I've flashed same SU package successfully without any errors.

I've also seen that there is an updated version here but there are NO mirrors available!!!

androidfilehost fid=1322778262903999335 ( I cannot post the link because I'm a new user)
Please, can you help me with this?
1) How can I unlock the screen ?
OR
2) Do you have a functioning link for the updated version?
Thanks!
I installed, teamwin. in my mipad 4 but is written in russian. isn´t it? It is complicate to use it in Russian.

Followed this same root guide and after flashed linage os 17.1 a64_bvN type with recovery. It worked successfully.
Despite not having service ,in the place im in right now, it also works. Both SIM cards work
Thanks a lot guys!
I successfully installed Linage OS 17.1 on my SM-A105FN.
Everything works, except face-unlock and nfc.
But that is fine and I can wait for a future update that might fix it.
Thanks for the tutorial!:laugh::good:

Might work but are you a little tech savvy? Because it's quite a long process and took me a day to complete.
Because of all the bootloops and reflashing and so on.

Could you pass me the ROM link?
Thank you for the port, awesome job!
In my opinion it needs some improvements, like in sound, we lost quality, and maximum volume in respect to stock one.
Also the notification bar gets a small black bar in the top, stock one was using all the edges.
And maybe a little hand in some animations that runs randomly not smooth.
Apart from that, i think its a really good and stable ROM.
Any ideas in how to safely root, and maybe add it Viper4Android or some audio lib?
DISCLAMER!
Follow the instructions shown in this thread at your own risks, I will not be held responsible for bricking your device, you did this yourself.
That said, the information will be kept up to date relatively frequently, and should you follow the steps and ask questions below when unsure, everything will be fine!
No files will be directly provided. Do not use pre-created/re-uploaded content.
Note: This is a GSI (generic system imaging) ROM and the credits go to @eremitein and the link to his thread is below:
[OFFICIAL CAOS GSI]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The download link to the rom is below:
Click here to download the ROM
----------------------------------------------------------
Here are some requirements to install this ROM on your device.
1. You must have a PC
2. The bootloader of your device must be unlocked. (if you don't know how to unlock the bootloader of your device then the instructions are below.)
3. Your phone's battery must be above 50%
4. You must install this ROM with a clean boot.img. (it is recommended to install this ROM with a clean boot.img, installing this ROM with a patched boot.img can often result in bootlooping/bricking the device.)
-----------------------------------------------
Here's how you can unlock the bootloader of your device.
1.Create a Mi account if you already don't have one.
2. Open up your phone and go into the settings and go into "About phone" then tap on the MIUI version 7 times. (you will unlock the developer options)
3. Now go back from about phone to the settings app and scroll down to "Additional settings" scroll down and you will see "developer options"
4. Open the developer options and turn on "OEM unlocking" and then click on "Mi unlock status" and now turn off the WiFi and turn on your mobile data. Now click on "Add account and device"
5. Go back to the developer options and scroll down and enable "USB debugging"
6. Now go onto your PC and head over to this link (https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html) and download and extract the file that has been downloaded.
7. Go to the exctracted folder, locate and open the .exe file named "miflash_unlock"
8. Login with your Mi account.
9. Connect your device to the PC via a USB cable. (the one that comes in the box is recommended)
10. If the drivers are installed and the device is connected properly then you must see a "Unlock now" option click on it and you will get a 7 days waiting time.
11. After 7 days, try again and if nothing goes wrong your device will be unlocked.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now onto installing the ROM:
1. First download and extract this file on your computer SDK Platform tools
2. Download this file and extract it on your computer MIUI 12 ROM download the fastboot file and extract it on your computer.
3. Download the custom ROM and extract it. (the download link is above)
4. Copy and paste the file to the SDK Plaltform tools folder rename the custom ROM file to "system"
5. Copy the vbmeta.img from the MIUI 12 RO folder and paste it in the SDK platform tools folder.
6. Head to your device and power it off, once it is powered off, Hold the volume down button and the power button till the fastboot screen shows up.
7. Now connect the device to your computer and on your computer open the SDK Platform tools folder and make sure that those 2 files are there, "system.img" and "vbmeta.img"
8. Right click and press the shift key at the same time and click on "Open powershell window here"
9. Now in the powershell window, type in the following codes:
Code:
.\fastboot.exe reboot fastboot
.\fastboot.exe --disable-verification flash vbmeta .\vbmeta.img
.\fastboot.exe flash system .\system.img
.\fastboot.exe -w
.\fastboot.exe reboot
-------------------------------------------------------------
If you followed the all steps then your device will be booted up with Android 11.

I tried again and again, and nada. After booting at the end to recovery i see all files encrypt. installed at the last AGAIN Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_03.04.2020.zip and files are encypt when booting from twrp recovery.
And i cannot Backup because all files are gibberish!
Can you check also on yours what happening after you show in the video to enter to TWRP recovery - can you see files on internal phone and can you do Backup. Please.
If i cannot backup from recovery what is the point of TWRP?
Thanks.
Can Anyone backup from recovery after all this?
Please check and tell. Thx.
Bingo!
@Mohd Masab @irajawi-fadif
You have an error in the steps and in the video:
YOU NEED TO REPEAT STEP 7 AGAIN AFTER STEP 9 (!!!)
You need to flash Disable_verity twice! before and right after all zips!
so after flashing Magisk (step 9) Repeat step 7.
Without that YOU CANNOT ACCESS phone data from recovery (only from system boot)
And YOU CANNOT BACKUP from recovery (data is encrypted)
You can see this method also in this guide:
TWRP on galaxy M51
Please fix it also in the video!
Thank you.

If you can, please check why sideload on TWRP recovery (Advanced--->ADB Sideload)

If it worked, you don't need external SD card to flash all the zips...

I saw TWRP 3.5.0 was for A10.
You are wrong. I use a lot my S9+ TWRP recovery with ADB Sideload to flash zips on my pc to device.
This however is not working. when you press ADB sideload (as i said above in the menu) USB connection to pc is disconnecting. When you press cancel and return to TWRP menu , connection to pc is back and you can see from "adb devices" the device at recovery state.
If you can fix it , it will be great because we won't need External SD card to flash zips, we can do it from pc.
Thanks.
