I have an old HTC One M8
Android 6.0, HTC Sense 7.0, Software No 6.12.61.4
I have been and can still flawlessly transfer photos via Bluetooth to my trusty old 2008 MacBook running OS X 10.11.6.
I am now trying to do the same to my newer Macbook Pro Mid 2015 also running OS X 10.11.6 however, for some reason the Bluetooth Connection to this device fails. The two devices see each other and I can run through the pairing process. The devices then connect but immediately disconnect?? I have tried connecting the phone to an iPad but that also fails? The newer MacBook Pro can connect to the iPad but not the HTC?
Any ideas?
No takers?

Alright, so I'm trying to get my EVO to connect to Windows 7 64-bit in order to try out the Bluetooth tethering (via android-wifi-tether) and FTP server. I can connect the phone via bluetooth to my laptop, but as soon as I do, it just disconnects. I can't get them to reconnect (either from Windows or EVO). Windows shows no services, hardware, or anything.
Do I need a special driver or app for Windows? Some hidden setting in the EVO? A known bug?
And please refrain from super-obvious things, I've updated the driver for my bluetooth adapter, I've Googled around, and tested this on a Windows XP netbook, it paired and could transfer a file using OBEX just fine.
I am having this same problem. Have you been able to find any solution to this?

I'm having the same issue. I've been scouting forums, have paired and unpaired my EVO and Win7 Home Premium x64 Laptop over and over again, I've paired it from my phone and paired it from the laptop, and no difference.
I'm able to push files from my laptop to my phone but the reverse doesn't work at all. I get several errors which I believe are associated to the fact that my phone's bluetooth icon on the laptop shows no services or bt profiles in the properties box.
Did either of you figure this out?

SOLVED.
I went to my Laptop's manufacturer's website (lenovo) and downloaded the latest BT driver - an update from 2 months ago, although my last update was only 6 months ago.
It loaded all of the services I needed and once I paired my EVO to the computer about 7 different BT services were installed and connected to my EVO.
I am consistently having problems pairing my phone with my MacBook via bluetooth. I can pair them, but then they won't actually communicate. When I try to drop a file on the phone, I always a get a "insufficient resources" error on the MacBook side.
I have tried with a number of different ROMs both AOSP and Sense (1, 2, and 3+) and continue to get the same problem. It's not a big deal, but just curious if there is a work around?
Anyone have an idea why I can't get my S3 and PC to agree on any bluetooth profiles? Is this common to the T999, or is it something with my PC? They pair easy enough, but neither shows a single profile. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 9400 with TrueMobile 360 internal bluetooth running Win7 x64, and the T999 is stock 4.1 non rooted. I think I'm running the stock Win 7 bluetooth software, should I try installing the (probably older) Dell 360 software?
Is this unique to me, the S3, android, or what? Someone must know.
I have the HTC one X tegra 3 with IceColdJelly421 V1.6 - 31-01-2013 rom installed.
I also have another android phone with a 3g connection.
My aim was to give this connection to the HTC one X through bluetooth tethering. I know phone to phone tethering is weird but I wanted to try it out.
It did not work! I didn't know if it was my HTC or my other android phone running gingerbread.
So to test this I tried tethering my android phones 3g connection to my nexus 7 following the exact same instructions and it worked fine.
Both the HTC and Nexus 7 are running 4.2.1 so not sure what is wrong here.
There only difference I noticed was for the HTC it was recognized as a phone by the bluetooth on my 3g android whereas the nexus 7 was shown as a laptop, I am talking about the icons inside the bluetooth settings of the 3g android phone.
Any ideas?
Wifi tethering works fine.
Maybe related, maybe not.
I had an issue last night pairing a couple of android devices. My 2 rooted phones (Desire and One X) could see each other and pair easily, but neither of the rooted phones could see my non-rooted tablet (Tab 2 7). Before rooting the One X I had often paired it with the tablet.
Are both your phones rooted?
Could there be a relation between pairing/seeing and rooted/non-rooted or was this just a coincidence?
FYI, worked around the problem with "bluetooth file transfer app" - but dont think it will help with tethering
HI Guys,
Looking for some help.
I have an HTC U11 on Oreo. Recently installed a Kenwood 7704S Android Auto HU.
Installed Android Auto app via google play, as well as latest version direct from Google. Phone is just not detected using the original USB C cable BUT the phone is charging, all other functions work via the Android Auto app without being cable connected. Short of instalkling older AA apk versions I am at a loss. I have tested unit with a iphone and Apple Car Play launches fine so it is not a a HU issue as I assumed. I had used this unit with a P10 Plus and it worked but I had intermittent issue with it as well but with the U11 it has just quit launching all together. I have reset phone to factory and tried fresh, no success. I have enabled Developer mode and enable USB debugging and selected MTP Protocol still no luck.
Anyone experience U11 Android auto issues, super frustrating and dont want to run a custom rom just yet. Suggestions welcome cause I am at wits end beside trying other AA versions from earlier dates or rolling back to Nougat, that I have not yet tried. Phone has worked on Oreo and I got it with Oreo but I was experience intermitent connectivity
