Compared to those Call Recorder apps, is the audio quality of the official call recording better ?
(because with call recorder apps, the quality is not good, can't clearly hear the recorded voice of the other person)

Yup Its better than those 3rd party apps,,, it is better because it is huawei honors own call recording app...
I don't have root yet ... but if i root with magisk (systemless root to keep OTA updates) and TWRP flash this call recording file from the BLN-AL10 (chinese version), can i still get OTA updates for my BLN-L21 (europeen version) ?? Is your BLN-L22 (india version) rooted with MagiskSU ou SuperSU ? with the call recording app, does it still get OTA updates ?

Yup i still get ota ... But when you unlock bootloader, you can tweak all these things using root, but when you update, your device's bootloader might get locked again, you will loose all root privileges...

Be aware that even if rooted with Magisk, you'll have to remove root and flash stock boot and recovery images of your build versiob in order to be able to correctly make an OTA update. You'll receive it, but before installing you'll have to restore a clean state of your phone.

I have received an OTA update for may Nova Plus from B332 to B341
here is the "dataversion.txt" file:
"ro.confg.hw_userdataversion=MLA-L11C185B341_DATA_MLA-L11_hw_meafnaf"
My phone is rooted and i have a TWRP recovery 3.2.1.0
the update contains 3 files ( update_data_public.zip, update.zip and update_MLA-L11_hw_meafnaf.zip )
Can i install updates with TWRP, or i have to go back to stock recovery ?
Now i'm uploading "update_MLA-L11_hw_meafnaf.zip" to mega, and i thing it's a patch file for Cust meaf and Naf Region
for MLA-L11 ( I will post link for who update fail to use it, but on your only risk )

I don't think it will work with twrp, but you can try if you want.
And what root method you have there? If it is a systemless one, it will somesort of persist, but probably you will have to apply it again, as your boot.img will be modified. If it isn't a systemless one, then you must remove root first

phh Superuser method,
then i have to flash boot file or use "addonsu-remove-14.1-arm64-signed.zip" to unroot it
flash stock recovery and after all update the phone.
and if i want root again i have to unlock again the bootloader, flash TWRP recovery again and PHH root
i think i will keep my phone like that untill someone do an oreo rom 4 it, i'm not interested with security patches
and thanks 4 ur replay
I been looking for this for months...
This has been Tested on my ROOTed with Magisk and BL Unlocked Moto G Stylus XT2043-4 which is The US Retail Version of G Pro, mine is US retail version with MetroPCS branding. (Yes I am Carrier Locked and Bootloader Unlocked)
1) Download Stock Moto G Pro / G Stylus Firmware (Version you are currently on)
I personally use : mirrors.lolinet (dot) com/firmware/moto/sofiap/official/
2) Extract and copy Stock boot.img to Downloads Folder in device
3) Go to Play Store and Download Free or Paid version of FK Kernel Manager.
4) Go into FK and accept ROOT privledges and go into settings ( of FK).
5) Select Downloads and accept Permission for FK to read Downloads Folder
6) Select Manual Flasher on FK, opens Downloads Folder, Selec Stockt Boot.img you extracted from Firmware.
7) Reboot! Success! Open Magisk Manager and make sure it says Not Installed. If it's Installed, restart at the top at #1
W;hy would you want to flash stock boot.img?
- Even though I shut Auto-Update OFF, updates still continue and do NOT finish.
-Magisk bit meeeeee, now I'm scared.
-Development is lacking, no custom ROMs, so OTAs Excite me.
-After Rooting my Device via LIX or Windows, PC broke (It really did, several times)

I'm not even sure what magisk does to it, but I don't think anything noticable will happen. Just any OTA will fail to install since there's a modded partition still.

Hi there,
I just dared to try and root my new S20 FE...and it worked.
I basically followed the steps in the S20 root Thread or the Link from the S10 root thread.
I didn't use vbmeta_disabled.tar, seems like it is not needed anymore.
Was also curious if we could just use TWRP from S20...but I ended up with a soft brick...so doesn't seem to be so easy :crying::crying:

Hard brick where you are stuck with a phone that never boot again. Very hard to do though
I would attempt it but I couldn’t find an Australian firmware...

Just managed to root my 5G SD version as well following the S20 link. It’s even easier now using the latest magisk manager to directly install magisk rather than patching tar file.
Edit: I didn’t use vbmeta either.

As per the S20 link by OP, here's a very quick summary of what I did:
1. Unlocked my bootloader.
2. Skipped "Stage 3: Disable Android Verified Boot" in the link.
3. Searched and downloaded latest official firmware from sammobile specific for my australian model.
4. Used Odin to upgrade. I put CSC instead of HOME_CSC to erase all my data (not much data on my phone anyway) wanting a clean upgrade, and left "USERDATA" blank.
5. Skipped "Stage 5 and 6" in the link.
6. Downloaded and installed Magisk Manager from Magisk official website.
7. Installed Magisk in Magisk Manager using its "Direct Install (recommended)" option (can't remember the exact words).
And my phone was rooted.
Note I did not do any backup while rooting my phone because it's pretty new and nothing much was on it (and it's not my primary phone), so it's a high risk procedure if it's your primary phone and if something went very wrong.
Hope this helps.
Can I flash European firmware to.my hong Kong version?

I don't get how you were able to utilize direct install.
Direct install would only appear if you already had root access isn't it?
If I follow steps
1 - unlocked bootloader
2 - skip stage 3
3 - skip stage 4 (due to already being on latest firmware.)
4 - skip stagr 5, 6 (your step)
5 - install magisk
6 - no direct install option.
?-?

I'm not sure why I was able to do direct install on my unrooted phone, noob here just following guides
I haven't had a samsung phone before, if I root it am I going to have problerms with warranty later?
I was able to install magisk root using instructions here: https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
Used Frija for getting the FW.
edit: It seems magisk on this device breaks Tidal? Can anyone else confirm? Flashed back to stock, Tidal works, but with magisk patched tidal stops playback of all songs at 0:19.
I have some problems with rooting my device:
I tried to flash vbmeta_disabled.tar but ODIN fails to flash it
I used magisk to patch the boot.img and then flashed the image using ODIN, root works and I can access the system, but I can't change system to read-write, so I can't make any changes to files in system (or any other folder in root). Any apps I have get root access from magisk, but fail when attempting to make any changes to system files, so they are useless.
Does anyone else have these issues? Is there a step I should have done to be able to write to system/root?
So what's the process of root on Android 11?

in my limited understanding android 10+ has a strictly read only system partition. any changes have to made via magisk overlays like systemless host files in adaway for example. EDIT: also there's ADB that can edit / write.
Has anyone got the full steps for rooting a new s20 fe? Lets say I buy the phone and upgrade using ota to Android 11 straight away...then what?

Download the full rom
I downloaded the full rom from Asus website, the update was fine just dropping it at the root of internal storage. My is a chinese converted to WW firmware/fingerprint. All working fine so far.
I wonder where the VOLTE settings are, I find strange they are making it available for some regions only. Why not just make it available to everyone in any region? I can;t get my head around why VOWIFI and VOLTE is taking so long to get sorted. My oneplus 5 had this working fine 3.5 years ago!

If you're tencent to global (converted).
-locked Bootloader
-finger print should be WW
And flash the Full ROM not OTA
my bootloader was unlocked. Fingerprint was converted to WW. Not gonna flash OTA again if i can rescue my device.
Should I lock bootloader always before doing update ? I prefer to use rooted for blocking ads and easy backup/restore for titanium backup.

Ok, flashed full rom over twrp and rooted. Everything seem's fine now. Just dont pass safetynet test.

No need to unroot to update, or remove twrp. There's a couple of options.
For all instances FULL zip is required, as far as I'm aware
1. For those of you that are only rooted: (Recommended to disable magisk modules) Download the full zip, move to root of internal storage and reboot. System will detect and prompt to update, click update. Wait until it finishes but DON'T click 'restart', instead, click 'restart later'. Go to Magisk manager. Click 'install' for Magisk. Click the last option 'install to inactive slot after OTA'. Click confirm force flash. Reboot when prompted. Done - root kept intact.
2. For those rooted with TWRP you can either; A)
- Disable all magisk modules;
- Put rom.zip, twrp installer.zip and magisk.zip on your internal storage;
or B)
If you want you can also update a stock rom from phone settings with local upgrade:
- Update the Rom WITHOUT REBOOT;
- Open Magisk Manager;
- Menu/modules/+ button/select the twrp installer.zip and flash it;
- Always in Magisk Manager, click on Install/Install/Direct Install;
- Again in Magisk Manager, click on Install/Install/Inactive Slot;
- Reboot.
For all instances FULL zip is required, as far as I'm aware
Thanks to @mauronofrio for A and B and for all his (or hers lol) efforts generally
