Hey guys,
i'm using 2.51 rom UK, but since the black status bar update (i think) i have installed an app called "GoMarket"
I tried to delete it, but it didn't work.
Wouldn't be a problem.
BUT, i realized that this app also catches the market links.
If i can't remove it, at least i want to rid of it catching my market links.
any advices? tips?
read somewhere, just removeing the apk from systen folder possibly messes everything up? don't need something yet. any confirms?
thanks a lot
assuming you've rooted your device, i think you can use titanium backup pro or adb to remove it.

you could try uninstall for root ive used it to uninstall system apps before also some app require device administration permissions and you have to unselect them first to uninstall them the settings can be found in Settings>Location & security settings>Select device administrators
You just need to download titanium backup which is free version and locate that gomarket app in TB and click delete. Or use root explorer to go into system/app and locate that file n simply delete it.
thanks for the many resonses

dont find this option on my phone (as above, 2.51 stock 2.1)
to systems/apps delete it with command or root explorer,
question is, does this mess up may system? read about phones which don't start after deleting goMarket directly ;=)
would have been my first try
edit: thx
Do a nandroid backup if you're worried.
Titanium Backup doesn't work? Make sure you have an updated busybox (there's on on the Market).

if you want to replace kingroot with supersu,
download kingroot & supersu from this thread... check that threads attachment for links..
Read that thread carefully... & uninstall current kingroot or reinstall this new downloaded kingroot..
& only follow all steps of kingroot replacement with supersu...
reboot your device once before following his steps!
OR
if you only want to uninstall any apps.. download & grant root access to System app remover (ROOT) & remove apps you want to remove.... also check & empty that app's recyclebin..

Hey y'all,
I rooted my phone with Kingroot and I was trying to get SuperSU on it. I tried a ton of different methods like SuperSU Me but it didn't end up working so I settled on Kingroot.
I was trying to uninstall Google Apps I don't use with Titanium Backup but every time I try, it just doesn't remove itself. I tried using Kingroot's version to remove the apps but that didn't end up working either.
I know my root works because I can use Root Checker and terminal emulator to 'su'.
Any suggestions would help!

You may have a partition mounting error.
If you have twrp recovery then goto the mount section and make sure system and data can be mounted. If yes then it may be a permission for R/W access for system.
I had all kinds of issues getting permission to write to /system.
You need to start by getting rid of King root. I used it to root initially also but swapped to super su. I also installed busybox the app. If the app can install the busybox tools then you should be good to go.
Also check a root file manager for the ability to mount "root file system"
If you have a terminal app then you can check your partitions permissions my typing 'su' then 'mount'. The mount will display the current state of all partitions without making any changes.

So I found a way to disable apps that you can't disable through settings. There is an oem partition containing these apps so Titanium Backup can't locate them to delete, and trying to use a root file browser just freezes the device. You need to boot to twrp, click on mount and mount the oem partition. Next go to file manager and find the oem partition. Since these are not able to be backed up with twrp and they are separate from the system partition, I just renamed the apks with a ~ on the end. This way if the removal causes any issues you can just boot back to twrp and rename them back the way they were. Just be careful what you disable because I'm sure some of them are necessary. I'll play around and try to make a list of what can be disabled and maybe try to make a script to run in recovery to disable them.
Edit: since some users are unable to find the option to mount the /oem partition to debloat, I attached a couple zips to mount and make changes in twrp file manager and unmount afterwards.
Root file browser works, it freezes and all you do is force close the app and re do it and it works.

No! There are a few apps that are needed and you'll have big problems if you do. I would just rename them with a ~ or add .bak so if you have problems you can fiix it easily.

Yeah, that's what I want to get rid of but each time I try the phone freezes. Like, I don't wanna disable them. I want them gone. TWRP doesn't even open the OEM folder and there is no mount option for OEM so it's not like that's an option

Like I said in the first post, you have to mount the OEM folder. Select mount, then check the OEM box then go to file manager.

What TWRP are you using? Mines doesn't have the option to mount OEM

If you don't have root or an unlocked bootloader, you can use the Amazon Fire trick (To restore apps you simply factory reset).
-- Connect Device
Enable USB debugging in developers options
Code:
adb shell
-- List Apps
Code:
pm list packages
Alternatively, you can search for packages by name
-- Example
Code:
pm list packages amazon
-- Disable Apps
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 [COLOR="Red"]"package name"[/COLOR]
If you want to disable the "No Sim Found" notification (its not hidable on Verizon ones at least) I found that its part of the moto setupwizard.
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.motorola.setupwizard.phoneservice
I've found at least with Boost/ Sprint, you can do away with the whole oem partition. I removed the oem.prop and all the lines in the build.prop directing it to the oem.prop, and everything seems to work just fine. You just need to install a dialer since the stock Google dialer comes from there. I've also found that removing certain Google system apps causes PlayServices to crash when you do a factory reset, restore a system backup only with no data, or try to make a twrp flashable rom. I'm in the process of figuring out which ones need to remain and what can be removed without problems.

Confirming this DOES NOT work on the XT1765 Metro PCS version. Started a thread just for that phone as it seems to be the special one in the bunch.
So to clarify...
Boot twrp
Flash mount_oem.zip
Delete/alter file name of unwanted apks
OR
Delete oem partition
Flash unmount_oem.zip
Reboot
IF I delete whole partition, I must install a new dialer.
Any recommendations for new dialer app?
Edit:
IF I just delete individual apks, is boost launcher safe to remove? As in with out installing new dialer.

He also said he removed oem.prop and all buildprop lines directing to oem.prop. (for deleting oem)
Right on. Would it be possible to redownload& install Google dialer via play store?

Don't see why not. Although the one originally included is slightly different.
Play store says phone is uncertified, so I can't download phone from Google. 3rd party works just fine, so do pretty much all other Google apps that I can see. This is just deleting OEM folder, not build.prop lines leading to OEM. I'm still kinda fresh and haven't really done that before, but I've got the firmware I can reflash so I'll try it tonight when I get home. Anything I need to know about build.prop?
Edit: I removed build.prop lines leading to oem. No noticeable difference. I reflashrd stock firmware. Get this: my phone would ring when I was called, but no app would let me answer lol third party dialer would let me make calls but not answer or hangup.
Guys, I'm rooted with magisk and I want to remove system apps like youtube. I used system app remover for it and it always fails, any idea how to do it?
Try root uninstaller. Always worked with me.
I've always used root uninstaller on all my devices until this one. It says something along the lines of "sorry, root privilege found but cannot mount system r/w " so it will only allow me to disable apps. Root essentials on the other hand won't disable apps but will allow me to uninstall system apps except for Google, which I had to manually delete the folder and apk for.

You can use Titanium Backup to do so, uninstall and reboot to confirm, Just make sure the app is not disabled before you uninstall it.

I had the same problem, too. I tried several apps but the uninstalled ones magical appear again after reboot.
The only thing that worked for me was to install the magisk module " terminal debloater " here on XDA.
Now they are gone.
Hello, I want to temporarily root my device to install as system app Google phone dialer and I was wondering if there is any simple way to temporarily be root perform the operation and remove root without wiping or modfing anything else (recovery or system files).
May be using adb?
Thanks
