I recently purchased a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A, the only thing I did not like about the smartphone was DPI, I was wondering if I can change the DPI without ROOT, since I did not find the option in the developer options.

I Don't own a Note 5A.But if it is running on nougat then there is a option to change display size. This must be in Settings>Display>Display Size or try searching Display Size in Settings app.
Sorry for my bad English.

Unfortunately this option is not available, the only available option is to decrease the size of the text.
Update 1:
I managed to decrease the size using the tutorial below.

I already managed to change the DPI, but this option is not available in the developer settings or in the screen configuration, the only way I found to change was to follow the tutorial above.
Do you have Chinese or Global version? I have Global, MIUI 9.2 and there is no option for DPI, only Text size in Display menu...
Thanks

I'm using the Global version (V9.2.3.0.NDKMIEK), to find the option, you will have to install the "More Shortcuts" application, after installing the application and start it, click "Activity" and type in the "Vision Settings" search box, the option will appear, click the "Blue" button that the Vision option will be started. Then you can change the "DPI" size.

Hi all,
just updated to build 9. Awesome ROM, but i found these annoying SoftNav buttons after flashing.. Could not find any option to disable the SoftNav bar. Is there any way to get rid of it?
Settings > Chromium ROM settings > Expanded desktop > Status bar visible. Hold power button for a few seconds until power menu comes up and then choose Expanded desktop.
Got it!
Tricky.. Thanks a lot!
Thanks, were looking for that, too.
Also, you posted some recommended settings here. Where do I find those options?

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't have that option in the menu. Is that any possible?
Just to verify it, I uploaded screenshots of my menu. There is no "performance".

Oops sorry about that. To enable the performance section you need to go to about phone and tap on build number 7 times. Then it should appear along with developer settings.
Hey everyone,
I've been lurking XDA since rooting my HTC One X and I would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped me throughout the years.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a rom that supports Multi Window for the HTC One? Right now I am on Venom 2.5.0 and have edited the build prop to active this on 6.0.1. and of course I have enabled it from Developer Options. Even gave the phone a restart.
The icon shows up on the app cards in recent apps but they don't do anything when clicked.
Also I gave tried the XMultiWindow module as an alternative and for some reason it won't run two apps at the same time the other will go blank.
Any help would be appreciated.
It's working with MaximusHD ROM

don't think its rom specific from android 6onwards which is why it lets us enable by editing build props...
i am able to use multi window by editing buildprop - reboot - followed by enabling it in developer options - advanced - enable multi window....
could you confirm the buildprop string and value which you had edited?

Interesting. May I ask what rom you are on?
I believe I edited the right string since I see the multi window icon.

i was on LeeDroid at the the time of screenshot... works on IceRom and Viper as well...as mentioned earlier this isn't a rom feature but a feature already present for all 6.0.1 roms....
string you need to edit would be below along with the value to userdebug which would be default as user(non multi window)

You can't. It's not the same device.
Swappa is your possibility...
We're supposed to get Nougat this year, so that's one thing. Can the Android Assistant be installed from the Play Store? Will it eventually be integrated with Android anyway? You may just need to wait.
As stated you can't as different hardware.
You could install the pixel launcher as an alternative to Sense

The possibility is zero. lol The same possibility of changing you HTC 10 into a Samsung S7.
Nougat is a couple of weeks away, so be patient. Most of the features that Pixel has will be on the new HTC 10 ROM. There are a few that won't. but not many.
Well if you wanna get close to a pixel, you can do as I have done.
0: Root your device
1: Install Pixel launcher
2: Install Google Phone app & messenger app (Deleting HTC Phone and Messenger app)
3: Install Google assistant with Xposed
4: Delete HTC lockscreen (this will give you stock lockscreen)
5: (optional) Add Android N-ify to get the 7.0 drop down menu
Tada your phone will look like a pixel phone, (apart from the settings menu)
This will give the HTC as much stock feeling as can be without making an ASOP or custom rom.
This is my Google Pixel "port":
-Xposed Framework
-Xstana (AOSP L + ReallyNougat)
-N-ify
-Nova Launcher
-Muzei (For cool blurred Wallpaper)
I'm on ICE Rom, you can all customizing what you need it for the "port". Sorry for my bad english and i hope i can help you.
(Q) floating and multi window in sense?
Wrong thread.

Resurrection remix is a superb rom to use with the pixel launcher. Only problem for me is it doesn't allow hdmi over USB otg which I use a lot.

You can get multi window with a build.prop edit.
Find the ro.build.type=user line, and change it to ro.build.type=userdebug. Then go to Settings > Developer Options. Select "drawing" and enable Multi-window.
You can do this on any ROM.

I have done this and it's not showing? Bare in mind i'm in a sense rom (if it matters)
Cheers.
PS: Used an app called build prop editor, works well and allowed the changes.
Changed from user to userdebug nothing shows in dev options for the line "Drawing"
After a reboot all is working as expected, thanks for this man, appreciate it.

In galaxy store you can find a lot of fonts, but most of them have a cost, I have seen that you can use substratum to change fonts, but, I think you have to pay for something, I dont know the exact details, but look here in xda about substratum and hex installer

Yes, the link I posted works fine for non rooted devices, you just need to follow the instructions, is not very complicated, a little tricky but if you read properly, you'll make it. Tell us where you got stuck.
Thank you so much ? i did it well
I extracted the apks to the folder names "monofonts" on my internal memory, when inside the folder and installed, got a prompt that said font have been installed, then head over to the display serttings to install the new fonts and it tells me "this font is not supported. Contact the font provider. Uninstall this font?"
I have Tmobile Note 10 plus One UI 2.1.
Any suggestions?

Don't install from the folder, use the #mono_ apk that will recognise the folder and install the desired font. Yes you can uninstall the one you have then use the, let's call it, app font manager.
The app in the playstore called 'zFont' also has a bunch of monofonts you can install for oneUI on Android 10.
I made a tutorial regarding this. Hope it helps!
1. Make sure you are signed into your Samsung Account.
2. Install zFont 3 from the Play Store.
3. Go to Dashboard and open Monotype fonts.
4. Find CirceRounded font (2066th font).
5. Tap it twice to download and then install it.
6. Change the device's font to the new one.
7. At your phone's Settings, go to "Accounts and backup" and then to "Back up data" under Samsung Cloud.
8. Select only "Settings" and back it up.
9. Change the device's font to the default one.
10. Back to zFont 3, go to Local and tap on the "Aa" button.
11. Select the font you have downloaded that you like.
12. Tap on "APPLY" twice to uninstall CirceRounded and install your own font.
13. Do not change the font in your phone's Settings!
14. At your phone's Settings, go to "Accounts and backup" and then to "Restore data" under Samsung Cloud.
15. Select only "Settings" and restore it. Don't delete the backup.
16. Android will be tricked into thinking that it's applying again CirceRounded but it will actually apply your custom font!
17. You may repeat this process from step 9, for every other font, now.
NOTE: If your font isn't a ".ttf" file, you may convert it online or use zFont Tool to convert ".otf" to ".ttf"!

This option is only available for tablets. But if you wish you can change min. width of your device temporarily (DPI) and after setting up WhatsApp changing it back to original.
