Hi all,
just updated to build 9. Awesome ROM, but i found these annoying SoftNav buttons after flashing.. Could not find any option to disable the SoftNav bar. Is there any way to get rid of it?
Settings > Chromium ROM settings > Expanded desktop > Status bar visible. Hold power button for a few seconds until power menu comes up and then choose Expanded desktop.
Got it!
Tricky.. Thanks a lot!
Thanks, were looking for that, too.
Also, you posted some recommended settings here. Where do I find those options?

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't have that option in the menu. Is that any possible?
Just to verify it, I uploaded screenshots of my menu. There is no "performance".

Oops sorry about that. To enable the performance section you need to go to about phone and tap on build number 7 times. Then it should appear along with developer settings.

What rom are you using? Normally it should be possible to change it in Settings > System > SMS Threading.

Let's see. I'm using this ROM, the clean version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=542664
The Dutch version does have a system menu in the settings menu, but nothing I can see about sms threading.
Ok let's just do it the old-fashioned way then.
Go to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\OEM]
And set
SMSInboxThreadingDisabled, DWORD =1.

what do you have downloaded?
you can download launchers just straight from the market. once its installed, press home and you'll see a pop up asking which launcher you want to choose. you can also use this app called home switcher to choose your launchers.
I saw one posted in a thread...

yeah no problem.
PM me if you need more help.
I don't know if that link was a rom... BUT you do not need to be rooted to change launcher. Disable sense. Download launcher- I have launcherpro.. the launcher on the link looks like some version of adw.
To disable sense: settings>applications> manage applications> scroll down to htc sense > Scroll to the Launch by default section and tap the Clear Defaults button> Directly below in the Controls section, tap the Force Stop button, and press OK
You have now disabled the Sense UI overlay. It's still there, just not running.
Press the Home button and select Launcher (If you want to keep it this way for a while, check the box to set this as the default option)
How to hide the combined Status Bar on ICS (root required!)
I think many ppl are searching for a solution to hide the status bar on ICS, since the Hacks from Honeycomb doesnt work on ICS.
Note that this is really a "Hack" since it forces Android to stop a services that is flagged as "important".
As usual, you are solely responsible if you brick your device!!! Install this Hack at your own risk!!!

The Hack is tested on [ROM][ICS] Team Eos ICS 1.0.0 (umts_everest). Let others know if you have experiences with other roms. I´ll update this post after ur feedback.

I would like to try this but I don't wanna be the guinea pig.
There's nothing super risky in changing the services.jar.
Make a backup of yours and you can push it back with ADB if you got a bootloop.
Nice, and thanks.
Wish there was a way to incorporate this into my app without needing the external jar file to be replaced (like it is in HC).
I have an app on Market that is a Kiosk browser app, but currently only for Honeycomb. It'd be sweet if it could work for ICS as well

I don't think there is a way to do it without a "special" version of the jar (policy or services)
In HoneyComb you could hide the bar, but with ICS Google remove that option, now the bar is "enforced" due the soft buttons and notification stuff.
new version online. see first post!
thx dabidu
Maybe this could go to the development section.
I add the .diff file with all the required changes on the source code to get the toggle the bar on and off, so anyone building a new rom from souce could implement this "feature"

I try this on eos 68. Its working with a big BUT.
No way to trigger the status bar back in application. Rotate the screen didnt work either.
Most of apps on market do not have exit button. So i can only use restart using log press power button.
I hope you could add the toggle setting on log press power button. That will do the jobs.

I understand about how to use. But if you could change the setting apk to include in display setting menu. Why not add it to the long press power button menu where the shutdown, reboot recovery and soo on.
It would become easy to use without need extra swipe application.
Just advice. No need to angry.
Nb: when using mxvideoplayer playing movies. Cannot toggle the status bar. But dice player just fine.
Amazing mod, you dont even need swipe pad. Thanks man.
You can just change back and forth from settings, sometimes after you select the bar again, it wont show, make a rotation and it will show again.

There is no way to return to home screen from most applications so the only way to exit is to reboot - bunk. Uninstalled.

I recently purchased a Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A, the only thing I did not like about the smartphone was DPI, I was wondering if I can change the DPI without ROOT, since I did not find the option in the developer options.

I Don't own a Note 5A.But if it is running on nougat then there is a option to change display size. This must be in Settings>Display>Display Size or try searching Display Size in Settings app.
Sorry for my bad English.

Unfortunately this option is not available, the only available option is to decrease the size of the text.
Update 1:
I managed to decrease the size using the tutorial below.

I already managed to change the DPI, but this option is not available in the developer settings or in the screen configuration, the only way I found to change was to follow the tutorial above.
Do you have Chinese or Global version? I have Global, MIUI 9.2 and there is no option for DPI, only Text size in Display menu...
Thanks

I'm using the Global version (V9.2.3.0.NDKMIEK), to find the option, you will have to install the "More Shortcuts" application, after installing the application and start it, click "Activity" and type in the "Vision Settings" search box, the option will appear, click the "Blue" button that the Vision option will be started. Then you can change the "DPI" size.

This option is only available for tablets. But if you wish you can change min. width of your device temporarily (DPI) and after setting up WhatsApp changing it back to original.

You can change it under developer settings. To enable that click multiple times on your device build number and you'll see developer settings.

The naming differs. Maybe you'll have an option of minimum width.
