Did you try a hard reset?

same here: black screen (only some rows of pixels on the top slightly light up for a brief moment when i press the power button to toggle on the display), vibration and speakers still working, even the touch functionalities are working (6 AM alarm clock still rings and i have to guess where to slide on the screen to snooze). Tried to hold the power button, rebooted, but nothing else happened and the screen is still black. Seems like an hardware problem... what do you think about it?

Lg g3 screen stays black after reboot, but responds to touch

My wife's phone looked completely dead this morning, so I pulled the battery and then rebooted. The led did its usual start up pulse but the screen remained black.
Double tapping to wake, then tapping the centre of the screen where login field is, then tapping where the keyboard is, results in haptic feedback, but the screen never turns on from black.
Tried holding down + power to boot into recovery, but no idea if it works. No response from the screen.
Anything I can try? :crying:

Its the faulty motherboard chipset issue, same as me.
Take the phone apart and place a piece of plastic or something on top of the display ribbon connector underneath the battery. That solved this problem for me.
Seems to occur because the board in the g3 has too much space to flex etc in general usage.

lock screen problem in lineageos 18.1

Hello,
i recently installed lineageos18.1 on my oneplus 3 but when ever it locks the screen it goes black and stays that way.
Its practical impossible to go out of the lockscreen. Sometimes it works by pushing a lot of buttons, but thats rare and no combination seems to work twice.
Does anyone know the issue? In oxygenos i had no problems. For now i disabled lockscreen but thats not a real solution. By pushing the right hardware button i active lockscreen and then i have to reboot the phone to get back in.
In lockscreen all buttons seem to work, it still viberats and the 2 lights below go white if i push to unlock the screen.
i tried swiching on and off the system profiles but no luck so far.
Thanx in advance!

Black screen on xt1792

I have a moto g5s xt1792 after I unbrick trying to install lineage, almost everything is working the problem is the lock screen, after a while the screen goes black, it lights up (with the black screen) I can unlock the screen but if it is just the pin or the pattern the screen remains black after unlocking the screen, if it is with the fingerprint it goes back to normal and I can see things.
there is another problem related to the sensor, the screen does not light up when i pick up the cell phone i have to press the power button for the screen to light up
the stockrom I installed is this one
MONTANA_OPPS28.65_37_7_11_cid50_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_NO_ERASE_MODEMST_CFC.xml
and then I reinstalled this one because I noticed the screen lock problem but it continues
MONTANA OPP28 65-37-7 cid50 subsidy-DEFAULT regulatory-DEFAULT CFC
sorry the bad english and thanks for the attention
--edit--
the black screen appears after a long time or randomly after i lock the screen
I noticed something too, the black screen disappears after I keep pressing the power button to light up the screen a few times and then the screen shows the screen lock

Dark area on screen ONLY after sleep

Hi folks!
I've got a very weird issue with my P-600!
Yesterday, I noticed a dark area in the left corner on the bottom of the screen.
At first, I thought a LED line was dead on the backlight panel. No surprises, it's a 10 years old device...
To confirm that, I rebooted the device expecting to get the same issue (dark corner anyway, anytime) but it became even more "bizarre": after getting into system again, the dark spot was gone but the device was unable to revive the screen after going into sleep mode.
No matter if the screen was put into sleep by inactivity time-out or by pressing the power button, when the screen became black, it stayed black.
But with apps still running in background: for exemple Spotify was still playing music.
The only way to get the screen on back again, was to force a reboot by keeping the power button pressed down.
After reading many posts here and on other sites, I found some talking about the "Android Black Screen Of Death" and some tutorials on how to fix it on Samsung devices. So I opened my Tab, unlocked all flat cables, waited 10 minutes or so and then reconnected everything.
Well, it did it but only partially: now I'm a in quite "mixed" and unexplainable situation.
The screen works again, I can put my Tab to sleep and get it on again just pushing the power buton.
BUT...
The dark area in the left corner comes back again, only after sleep mode!
If I reboot the device, the screen is perfectly enlighted in all its surface, but it will get again that dark spot in the corner after screen sleep. What the heck... ?
So it's not clear for me how to definitely fix it.
Should I replace the entire screen? The flat cables? The battery?
Any help to understand what's going on will be greatly appreciated!
