I have the Pixel 2 XL and I also have the Oneplus 3T - and with OP3T and certain custom kernels the order of flashing was very important, with blu_spark kernel being very clear that it must be installed the very last one, AFTER Magisk!
Is something like that still the case with the Pixel 2 XL or is it now the reverse way with Magisk being the last step?

On the P2XL, magisk must be flashed last so that the kernel can be patched to achieve root :good:

I've tried with no success but stuck on Mi logo.
Have to uninstall Xposed with uninstaller to boot back in.
Max 3 - 8.11.15
thats bad. no luck yet then. i was just wondering if we can use the same modules of xposed in magisk.. i used to love PERFECTCOLORBAR module from xposed. it makes the status bar same color as any app in use.

It's so sad, we desperately need some custom ROM's for the Mi Max 3 now it can be bootloader unlocked and rooted, especially some LOS based ROM's like the Mi Max 2 has. Treble works so I don't see why ROM's aren't flooding the forum. I used to donate to so many developers for my old Mi Max 2 but now I have nobody to donate to.

From the Twitter posts it looks like it's still not compatible with the Pixel 3 (sorry, meant on Q).
I installed it
Clear the checks
still have root
Won't work with Q but should work with Pie. Unfortunately, it will probably break Magisk mods till their updated.

There is no Twrp for Android Q. The current Twrp won't mount any of the partitions
Just installed it and is working fine . Seems Q is gonna be difficult to root on Pixel 3 XL . Dev still can't get Magisk to work on Q while it's working on Pixel and Pixel 2.
same happened to me

Hi guys,
I have a OnePlus 5T with unlocked bootloader, TWRP and Magisk v20.1, running stock OOS 9.0.9 with Franco Kernel.
Can I safely install Riru-Core and Riru-EdXposed to try some Xposed modules? If yes can I do it via Magisk Manager or is better to flash them in TWRP?
Thank you
Do it via Magisk Manager to be more safe so if anything goes wrong you can easily turn off the module or uninstall it.

yes, but use 0.4.5.1 SandHook, not 0.4.6.0.
I'm currently using it now too.

Not sure though.
Since I am still using Android 9 and 4.5.1 works fine.
Sent from my beloved Oneplus 5T
I solved the issue. I'm on android 10 0.4.6.0 yahfa magisk 20.1 custom built for android 10 and it works. Had to install riru 19.5 as 19.6 didn't work
Hey there
I'm using an OP9 with pixel 5 spoof, I keep getting the notification to update to android12. Is it just a gimmick?
Has anyone tried that?
How you can install pixel port have you link ? İ am searching a12 aosp or pixel port for op9 pro
I tried the update on my LE2117, after flashing the A12 beta 5, like an idiot lmao because it didn't boot after.
So don't do it!!!
Gonna flash some GSIs and try to fix them for the OP9, maybe it'll work

No need for TWRP to root.
To adapt to your device.

Thanks, but my question was the inverse: I want to root, typically I did using TWRP and flashing magisk zip. I was guessing if Magisk supports Poco F5 already.

This method is not recommended due to A/B partitions and current TWRP development for A12/13.
And root for what?

I use root for two main purposes: ad blocker in hosts (as I also use VPN service, so I don't want to keep VPN busy with ad blocker) and removal of bloatware with magisk debloater.

Xiaomi.eu ROM for 12 Turbo / Poco F5 with root is great, because one can install among others ad-block apps such as AdAway and block all ads in apps (Youtube excluded). I rooted xiaomi.eu (via magisk and "boot.img") couple of days ago and it's working great. You're right, when you wouldn't recommend rooting via TWRP and flashing magisk.zip for the reasons you mentioned in post #4 above.
Have any of you tried installing viper4android magisk?
A lot of devices are being unable to install the old viper 4 android. I know there's a 64bit version now that usually works on devices that can't install the other one. It doesn't have all of the features it's missing headphones surround sound and gain increase. Which are the two best features of the whole vipers situation. So I want to purchase a Poco F5 or F5 pro. So I am wondering if viper is working?
You'll probably have to install magisk delta canary latest build because the new magisk v26.1 won't work with viper now either. It will work if you Install viper with magisk delta and then switch to magisk official v26.1.
Normally what you do is you install the busy box module, The James DSP 4.6 module, Selinux permissive module, audio modifications library 4.2 module and the viper for Android module finally. You don't have to use the James DSP but sometimes it corrects problems in the system to get viper to work. I'm not sure how much you guys are aware so I am trying to cover everything.
Pixel 6, 7 pro it won't work on. My tab S8 plus, S22 and S23 ultra it won't work on. Pixel 7 pro with AOSP roms make it work when those are available.

Worked like a charm for me on my Xiaomi 12X, install it as a magisk module.
