Does anyone use the system profile option found in some ROMs? I always find myself turning the feature off and not using it.
If you use it, how do you personally configure it for your needs?
Me too. I couldn't find it in MIUI, but in LOS I always disable the system profiles setting.

Hey guys, real quick question:
If I download a ROM that includes Performance settings (for example, AOKP), and I download a kernel that already has its own OC/UV set up, how do I know which side is used to control the OC/UV?
Basically, I want to make sure that I'll be using the kernel the way the author set it up - and not have AOKP take over control of OC/UV/Governors/etc. How do I go about doing this?
The Performance settings will take control over the kernel preset OC/UV.
It's like saying, stock kernel use 100-1000MHz. After you use SetCPU, it will replace defaults with your assigned ones. It's the same thing.
Just don't touch performance settings, and it'll be running the preset kernel ones.
does anyone know of a way to backup and restore cm/aosp settings so that we dont have to waste so much time setting up our phones after each install? im talking about anything that is configurable in the settings menu (security/lockscreen, sound and display settings, notification bar settings, advanced settings, etc etc etc).
They have that for aokp, but I dont think it works for cm/aosp.
yeah, i knew aokp had it. im kind of surprised cm hasn't thought of this or implemented it yet given the nature of the cm rom.
does anyone know if the settings are stored in a local file somewhere?

Titantium Backup Pro has the option to back up system settings, not sure if the free version has that too.
it looks like all the data is /data/data. Each app has its data stored there, even the system apps. I have tried restoring data that way befor, it worked for some apps, didnt for others.
/data/data holds all the rom system settings like display settings, sound settings, security settings, advanced cm10 settings? im not talking about apps, im talking about all the system settings.

You would have to get those settings from the apps that they pertain to.
Im looking at /data/data/com.android.settings_preferences.xml right now and it shows my lcokscreen settings, my notification settings, my led settings, etc.
I'm running Codename Android 3.8.0 ROM, build JZO54K, on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and have set up profiles (home, work, sleep, etc) that are part of the ROM settings but there is no way I can see to have them change on a schedule. I have to manually change them using the profile switcher of the power menu. I did find one way to do it by using the clock alarm feature "When alarm triggers, the profile will be changed to _____", but that's kind of a pain since it sets off an alarm that has to be dismissed. Does anybody know of a way to do it on a schedule, weather by a tweak or mod of the ROM or by an app that will switch the profiles of the ROM and not by creating their own profiles inside the app. Also, If it's possible, maybe by way of a cron job setup to do this.
Thanx in advance.
A lot of people use Tasker. Personally, before I started using NFC tags, I use llama location profiles. It worked really well

I'm trying to figure out how to access system ui tuner. If I search the settings for system ui, it finds it, but I can't launch it. I keep reading to hold down the gear icon in the notification area for 10 seconds and it's supposed to add system ui tuner to the settings but that's not working for me.
Where did you read about this? , I somewhat remember something of the sort

I just got into it using activity launcher.
Using that or other equivalent software look for under System UI find the option called "system UI demo mode". Once you launch the system UI demo mode the system ui tuner appears.
It doesn't seem to add a menu option. So you will need to repeat the steps above or create a shortcut to the respective activity.
On, so that did get me into systemui settings. What I'm trying to do with it is I have a sound profiles app. On my last phone I used a different sound profiles app. The sound profiles in the notification area was always the first item listed. That just makes sense. Well, I just got this Note 10+ and for whatever reason the sound profiles app i used to use on my old phones doesn't work on the Note 10+. Its not changing the volumes correctly. I changed to a different sound profile app called audio profiles. This program is working perfect with adjusting the volumes, but it always appears at the bottom of the notifications. Sometimes I have to scroll to see it. I posted to another forum and someone suggested that system ui settings allow you to adjust which notifications appear at the top of the notifications. I'm not finding that in the system ui settings.
Try maybe with Samsung SoundAssistant app (to manage profiles etc.)
I wonder if it's somehow possible on the 9 Pro to enable the Performance mode faster?
I don't want to go to settings > battery > advanced to enable it...
Is there a way to enable it with a widget or a quick toggle?
Maybe you can use Tasker?
I've thought of this, but i can't find the syntax to enable/disable Performance mode.
I'm a graphics dude 🥹
If you select 'Custom setting' in Tasker I think you will be able to find performance mode. I'm on OOS 11 so I don't have that option but I think it's worth checking!
These are the profiles I created for use in my phone. Hope it works for you.
