So all last saturday i was wondering why everytime i pulled my phone out of my pocket it was powered off. I found out that if i slid the keyboard in or out fast, the device would just power off. After further investigation even if i bump the device on the bottom it would also turn off.
I thought it was a weird glitch with some app i've installed but did a task29, reflashed the rom and it still did it.
I reflashed the ship rom as well as stock spl and went to an Att device support center, the guy looked over it and told me they don't have any tilt2s at the support center but would mail one out to me. So getting a refurbished device under warranty but has anyone experienced this?
I think its the ribbon cable probably came loose on the main board. But since its under warranty, easier to just swap it out then open it up and investigate.
A friend of mine had a Tilt 2 doing that, only it would simply reboot instead of shutting off. He sent it in for warranty replacement because of that and another problem.
Did you try putting a piece of paper between the backcover and the batterie? I had to do this with some old phones of mine were the batterie had a little bit space.

i remember doing that with i think the wizard which yes i did try and still same issue :/
oh well, its time for a new device anyway... i think i'm gonna get the dell streak, been meaning to jump over to android for a while now because nothing really excites me about WM7. Hopefully after 6 months after its launch it will be nicely updated and not so "locked down".
But for the ribbon cable that connects the top half and bottom half of the board, it has caused me issues before on previous devices. First on the wizard (Cingular 8125 but i bought it overseas as the i-mate k-jam). The cable got severed and killed the earpiece so i couldn't hear people during calls, but speaker phone worked. Had to buy a damaged one off ebay and swap the ribbon cable.
Then for the hermes (i had the i-mate jasjam but in the US it was sold as the ATT 8525) again had issues with the ribbon cable that the screen would just loose power.
Then again i've had the Raphael (att fuze) with no issues and the kaiser ( att tilt) with no problems as well, and i've had them for much longer than the tilt2. Oh well, luck of the draw i guess.
Its gonna be hard leaving HTC but no good att 3g gsm android devices out, i know there is the captivate but i want the front cam cuz my gf has the evo and we could probably video chat via Qik
Verizon VS-986 here.
A couple of days ago, I went into the Camera app to take a picture and it was "stuck" on the selfie camera, and the icon to switch to the main camera was gone. I went back to the home screen and back into Camera, and fiddled with the Modes, and it finally came back. I clicked on it, and the app showed an image for a couple seconds, then froze up. I did a lot of back and forth with it, and sometimes it would show an image for a second and freeze; sometimes it went totally black and froze the app; eventually, after power cycling a few times, it was stuck on the front-facing camera for good, with no icon to swap to the back camera. Basically, at this point, the app had recognized that there WAS NO back camera and didn't even bother presenting the option anymore.
This had all the hallmarks of a hardware problem. Glitchy, intermittent outages, then the hardware simply not recognized anymore. Still, I cleared out caches and searched online and found this article: How to Fix Camera Failed Problem on LG G4 (recomhub.com/blog/how-to-fix-camera-failed-problem-on-lg-g4/), none of which did anything to help. (I'm not rooted/unlocked so I couldn't clear the cache partition like they recommended, though it clearly wouldn't have helped anyway.)
Couple other things that may or may not be relevant: it was VERY hot out (80+ degrees) when then problem started and the phone was hot as a result of it. But it kept happening after cool down.
A crazy other thing that happened was, that evening, after rebooting one last time just to be sure, half the screen turned into rainbow noise during the Verizon logo and stayed that way for several seconds, even into the lock screen. That pushed me over the edge.
I went to a Verizon store and they kindly swapped it out for me. But that was weird and I wanted to put it on the record. Also curious whether anyone else had this problem.
Not that problem, but check out this other thread I started regarding the camera causing the phone to overheat: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3142806
Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
I've had the rainbow noise on the right half of the screen show up on boot at the Verizon screen as well. It stayed that way until the lock screen and that's when I powered the phone off, pulled the battery and let the sit for a few minutes. Haven't had the problem in the weeks since I've had the phone though.
The exact thing happened to me. My rear camera will not work at all. And the flashlight also will not work. Tried rebooting, factory resetting it, clearing cache, and took out my battery and still nothing.
I had a Verizon G4 that the rear camera stopped working on. I believe it was caused by a drop. I posted on here about it. For mine it just wouldn't focus anymore. Replacement was very easy, you only need a small Philips head screwdriver, and your fingernail, or plastic tool to remove the connector and pry the camera out which is held in by adhesive.
Replacement OEM part out of a Sprint G4 was under $14 USD on eBay.

Hello,
I have the exact same issue. Do you have a solution ? I dont want to rma anymore, screen coating than bootloop than this, this phone is a true disaster.
Only other thing any one could try is a tot lgup restore if that dont work either more than likely its a hardware failure. I had issues on my g2 with a could not connect to camera from the factory. Found out my stock rom was corrupted from lg toted and worked like new. Did it again a few moths later. Toted avain worked like new. I asume something in the camera files corrupted. Just throwin in my 2 cents.
Hello, thanks for the answer.
I fixed the issue by myself few minutes ago, i simply disconnected than reconnected the rear camera plug to the motherboard.

Hi, how did that 14 dollar camera work out for you? I'm getting wildly varied prices for replacement rear camera on eaby. Do you have a link to the one you bought and did it work as well as the original? Thanks.

Jesus i didnt see that. Sorry
So my brand new original camera module arrived today, i replaced it myself and...the camera still doesn't work. Looks like it's an MB problem. I have to send this god damn phone to LG again..
Hello, here is an update about my camera. LG repair the phone by changing the motherboard and the camera module.
I bought my brother a second-hand M8. It had a cracked screen but it was really cheap. I put the new screen in and a new SIM card reader. Everything worked fine for months and out of the blue the screen stopped responding to touch. Everything else worked fine as far as I could tell. Even in TWRP touch was gone so I figured maybe it was a cheap screen or something like that. I took it apart and the backlight was falling apart. Ordered a new screen that had the frame with it to save time on reassembly and because the old one was a little tweaked. Same problem, ran the RUU from Windows, ran different RUU's from several threads via Fastboot. Ran the latest firmware package on Santods thread and still nothing. It has to be the motherboard at this point right? The display and digitizer cables go right into the motherboard and the only cable that looks replaceable goes up int the daughter board with the cameras and top speaker assembly. Am I missing something or should I just scrap this mess?
4/5/16: I have since purchased a used motherboard from eBay. This has corrected the issue with the digitizer not working. The SIM card will not be recognized now is the problem I am fighting with. It was giving me this issue before on the old phone but it was off and on. I got it to work once with the new motherboard installed. I have RUU's and everything. This motherboard is S-ON and I don;t want to waste another $25 on Sunshine if the problem isn't software related. I have also replaced the daughterboard and the flex cable as well as used a different SIM Card reader. I am out of ideas at this point.
Does anyone know if there is a way to make sure a motherboard from eBay will work?
No one has any idea?
In my case, as I took my M8 apart because of cracked screen and as I put it back together my M8 couldn't recognize my Sim and what helped in my case was that I've put a piece of thicker tape on my Sim just so it is thicker than it was and since then everything works flawlessly.
Hope this helps you,
Regards Talpes
I have a LG K20 plus but saw no forum for that phone and the LG K10 is the closest I see listed. I hope it's ok to post here...
I cracked the screen on my LG K20 plus. In the process of fixing it, I lost the speaker and scratched up the bezel trying to get out a stripped screw. So, after some research here and verifying it was ok, I bought the same phone to do a mobo swap. The only difference was it had a bad esn which made it cheaper but since I was using my mobo, it didn't matter, right?
I received the phone and turned it on. Everything worked fine but, of course, it was locked due to bad esn. I took out the mobo and put my original mobo in and turned it on. It looked perfect but it didn't respond to any touches. I couldn't swipe to unlock it or put in my passcode.
I switched the mobos back to their original phones and touch abiliry (digitizer?) worked on both. I switched mobos again, and again no touch was recognized. For now I'm using my phone with a mouse just to verify everything else is working, and it is. Can someone please help me to figure out what happened and why the working digitizer fails after mobo swap?
Thank you to anybody who can help me. I'm stuck without any guidance
Hi All,
I had my Fold 3 like 6 months ago, and it was weird at the beginning as it was showing LG logo on while booting, however it was working fine with absolute no issues.
now, out of the blue, the cover screen does not work at all, and the WIFI toggle does not get switched on whatever I do.
The speakers (loud and inner ones) only work work the phone unfolded or semi folded, the don't work if it is unfolded on the inside screen.
The cover screen touch works, tried to play a youtube video on the main screen and I unfolded it, I can still pause and resume but only because I know where the icon should be, but the screen has no data as if it is locked.
I think it is a Korean version that I bought from Dubai.
Model: SM-F926N
I have tried resetting network settings, uninstalling the additional apps that cam with it, reset the whole phone to factory settings, uploading a new updated stock rom, nothing works at all and I don't know what to do now.
I downloaded the recent firmware update via mobile data hoping that it would fix the issue, but nothing! now the device is running One UI 5.1.
Baseband version: F926NKSU2FWCC
any suggestions?
Doesnt have anything to do with Lg logo. Your problem is flex cable broken. How many folds per day do you usually do? For it to break the flex cable under the hinge

I actually used it slightly more than 2 months. I have a Fold2 and I'm using it intensively since bought in 2020 with no issues at all.
Would the flex cable be the reason for not getting the wifi to work too?

Flex cable is the reason why wifi, speaker , bluetooth , s pen is not working and finally the inner screen will have black line because when the flex cable gets totally cut and it will hit the inner screen. Service center charge 600$ they will replace the entire screen together with attached flex cable they will alreplace the housing , battery and even hinge. Basically you will get a new phone except for motherboards, camera, back glass, front screen

I am impressed that your Fold 2 is still running perfectly since you had it for more than 2 years.
