Google Pixel 2 XL - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

When google sent you a replacement, they sent you a new device with the box and stuff or just the device?
When you sent the phone back, what did you sent?

I sent JUST the device back twice, and both times was shipped a brand new device from Google. Box and all accessories Included.
I have 3 chargers, 3 dongles, 3 type C to USB dongles. 3 cords. And 3 boxes. Lol

See image.

Perfect, thanks

It did. But I kept them anyway. All they do is dump the accessories in huge Gaylord's and recycle them. That's why I kept mine.

[Q] Micro-USB port worn out, what should I do?

Well, less than 4 months into owning my Verizon GNex, the Micro-USB port has worn out, rendering it un-chargeable. I'm well out of warranty at this point I suppose so any suggestions as to what I should do?
solder it back to the board

Would that help? It's moreso the cable just dosent stay in when I put it in and it doesn't charge no matter how far I push it in.

OK don't solder or weld or do anything else to it!!! send it to warranty threw verison or Samsung, if u do something stupid like solder or weld u will void warranty. Samsung turn round time is a week I've sent in two phones and they completely replaced with fresh new one ( screen issues)
Yeah, you're not out of warranty. Manufacturer warranty on the phone is one year (like pretty much every other OEM). Take it to the nearest Verizon store and they should help you out in replacing it under warranty.

Yea the warranty is a year as long as you haven't done anything like open it up just make sure its 100% stock and call Verizon and tell them. If your account isn't cash only they will send you a new one overnight. If it is cash only you have to go to a store and drop it off maybe 2 or three days later you'll be told to pick up your replacement at the same store. Super easy

You could also change it using the Pogo pins, touchstone mod etc.

ASUS repair service.

I sent my new Nexus 7 back due to massive, intermittent screen flickering and I was wondering if anybody else has done the same?
The status of repair is:
"Product was repaired OK and is now packed ready for shipping or pick up."
I am wondering if they even fixed anything or if they are just sending it back. I was hoping they would replace it altogether but it doesn't that way.
Thanks for any responses.
Probably they changed the whole screen.
Most tablet manufacturers will just replace the tablet. Because of the amount of time it will take. Unless someone actually works for the warehouse issuing out Nexus 7 replacements you will not get a solid answer. Just check the serial number when you get your Nexus 7 back.

Some folks are touchy about them. If the company actually goes through the returned units and really does refurbish them, they can be better than new. Unfortunately, a lot of companies like to power them up, see that something is displayed and call them "refurbished". Dunno where ASUS fails in that spectrum...

I'm just hoping they didn't send the same one back because in my opinion there is a hardware related screen issue. The problem is somewhat intermittent so they could've missed it.

Same here, RMAed it because of light bleed and dead pixels. It was on the status "REPAIR IN PROGRESS" since Friday morning (sent to the EU repair centre in Czech). Now it just turned to: Product was repaired OK and is now packed ready for shipping or pick up.
Crossing my fingers that they actually repaired/replaced it
Does anyone know for sure that if you send you Nexus into Asus for a warrant problem, do they send you back a refurbished unit or a brand new one?

No. There's no knowing 'for sure' unless they tell you (and even then).
There's no stated policy concerning it, so it's entirely case by case.
If you send a unit for repair, be sure to record the serial #.
That's the only way you'll know for certain.
The refurbished ones are generally indistinguishable from new.
Most places will send a refurbished unit unless there are absolutely no refurbished ones available.
Last month I sent my 2012 32GB N7 back to ASUS for warranty repair. I had been living with bad external speakers for a couple months. While transitioning from portrait to landscape when I was watching a video the tablet froze up and started making a high pitched squealing noise. Only thing I could do is long press the power button. Long story short...a little over 2 weeks after sending the N7 away I got the same tablet back with new speakers.
What a fail company Asus is...
Got my tablet back with "TEST OK/NO TROUBLE FOUND" so they call 7 dead pixels NO TROUBLE FOUND?? They pulled this **** on my before with the Prime so they are in for another discussion... WTF do they employ monkeys there??
I got my Nexus 7 back from repair yesterday and is not the same unit I sent in. I can't tell if it is a refurbished unit or new but either way I'm happy it's a different one.... for now.

I would refrain from the store if possible they might screw with your plan. They have to add the phone to your account and they'll probably try to change your data plan in store. I get my phone tomorrow in the mail :good: hopefully there aren't any issues.

You can try to show them it's defective you may be better off contacting Samsung. I contacted them via text chat or call for my note 3 awhile ago over chargers. They ended up giving me a bunch for free due to me waiting so long ect. Just remember be nice patient and it will work out, if not hang up until you get a rep that is nice and will help you.

OnePlus 3T Leather and Ebony cases are live but still cannot complete purchase.

So I've had a bookmark for the 3T leather case since it was first announced. Its usually one of the first things I check in my morning routine.
About 3am MST I got and email saying they were live. Went to the site as fast as I could. In stock, added to cart, trying to checkout, cannot verify my shipping address. Address is saved in my account from the purchase my OnePlus 1, OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T were all shipped to. Address is good.
I'v added my address 6 more times, tried my home and work address's. First contacted OnePlus support about 11 hours ago. Support guy tries it himself and says he is seeing the same error, he will contact the team and let them know. Telles me to please try again in 2-5 hours.
As of right now its still not working, same error. I've tried multiple computers/browsers/devices, cleared cookies and caches and rebooted multiple times. Just contacted support again and the new guy said they are still performing maintenance and to try again in 2-5 hours.
Has anybody had any luck completing any purchases in the last 11 hours? Everything on the site seems to be up all except that one little thing. Can't imagine the team couldn't have got to the bottom of it in 11 hours?!?
Error;
"Oops, we cannot currently get the shipment information, please double check your address and try again later."

That appears to be the case. Seems like a bizarre problem though? 24 or more hours where they can't make a single sale on their site. That has to be detrimental to OnePlus. I would think they would be making more of an effort to get it fixed.

Because they hate me?
OnePlus always makes it so hard to buy their stuff. They have a history of pulling weird stunts to increase demand/ drive sales. I just know taking 24 hours on a weekday to fix a tiny glitch like that should be unheard of. I was actually expecting it to be backordered (stock sold out to other countries first) by the time I was able to actually order.
