Original Charging cable loose contact - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hi All,
I bought new galaxy note 7 from sprint and the original charging cable that came inside box having loose contact. Can I return it to store and get new one or is there any fix for this?
Regards,
Prince

Not sure if they will. Maybe. I havent tried my cables, I did use the Orange brand, them suckers are hard to pull out

You can try to show them it's defective you may be better off contacting Samsung. I contacted them via text chat or call for my note 3 awhile ago over chargers. They ended up giving me a bunch for free due to me waiting so long ect. Just remember be nice patient and it will work out, if not hang up until you get a rep that is nice and will help you.

[Q] sim connector broken

hi guys
i have a big problem...my nexus doesnt recognise my sim anymore.
i have opened it and i can see that one of the 3 sim connector is broken.
do you know a online shop where i can find a replacement for the sim slot ?
or do you know a workaround ?
thx
Same EXACT issue here.. are these pins really fragile or what??
Also, a quick update. I brought this to a store in NY and they said that on each of the 3 rows, that make contact with the SIM, there are 2 pins that make contact. If both are broken (like in my case), they need to replace the whole SIM port because they can't solder the lower pin as the heat will do damage. If it's only the top (longer copper looking pin), than they may be able to fix it.
I am going to get another opinion this Friday and I'll update here. Otherwise, I am seeing if Samsung UK can send me parts or give me a quote to send the phone in for service, but it might not be worth all the money and may have to sell it.
Let me know how you make out if you have any updates!
Thanks!~
Sim connector/tray part
I have the same problem with my Galaxy Nexus...not too sure if the nexus s uses the same part but I ordered from a site called tanstartrade (.ca) and the connector looks similar to what is on the Galaxy Nexus.
have you guys found any resolution to this? broke a pin off with the help of a sim adapter
You checked "yes this is a question"

shipped my phone to a member's (kawgirlval69) repair store: http://hasslefreecellphonerepair.com/
will keep you guys posted
So did they fix it for you? I have a broken pin as well.
I'm curious how you are all breaking pins. I have swapped sim cards lots of times (I was testing three carriers at one point) and I was decently rough in doing so. All my sims were normal size sims. Were those of you with broken pins wedging micro sims or using adapters?

Bingo Though in my case, I broke it trying to get it back OUT. I just stupidly assumed that the phone company would send me the proper-sized sim when I told them which phone I had, so I tried to put it in the only way it looked like it would fit. Then again, I am about as mechanically inclined as a monkey, and tend to break things easily
Yeah go with RussianBear's suggestion and mail it to FL.
Im not affiliated with them and havent tried them but I guess they charge around $50 to fix. Locally you might find a place to fix it as well. GL in getting it fixed .
If its a google play store model, Samsung USA should fix it for you free of charge.

Same thing here. Just got the nexus and still had the stupid micro Sim adapter from one s... Needless to say,i was pissed. The seller turned out to be a great guy though, helped me out a bit.
They did charge me about 50, but i didn't have to pay for return shipping (priority). I'll recommend this shop to anyone from now on not affiliated with them in any way, except for them doing a great repair job lol

Do you really think they will? I sent a message to Google, who referred me to Samsung for warranty support:
(Forum won't let me post link)
On that site, it says:
If your Device is defective through no fault of your own, you have up to fourteen (14) days from the date the Device is delivered (the "Advanced Replacement Period") to contact Samsung customer care at (855) 392-6398 regarding a replacement Device under the Samsung Advanced Replacement Process.
Since this was obviously my fault, and I'm not going to lie to them and tell them it just showed up this way, I didn't even bother to call and ask.
Just an update... I sent my phone off to the Hassle Free repair place. Apparently, they have one tech (a female) who is the only one that can do these repairs, and they claim she has been sick in bed for over a week now. They've been very responsive to inquiries, so I'm hoping they'll get it fixed eventually.
Will let ya'll know how it ends up.

About 12 days after I sent the phone in, I got a call from Crystal using my phone, saying they had fixed the phone, and apologizing profusely for the delay. After I made the Paypal payment, they sent it off the very next day. Phone arrived 2 days later... SIM card slot looks brand new, and phone works great
So I'd definitely recommend them, but I'd also check in advance if you're in a hurry, and make sure the repair person isn't on vacation or something, since there seems to be only one of her.
thanks for the good feedback guys... we really appreciate your business and feedback as we strive to give you the best repair we can give...
@worknman.. thank you for your patience, we actually had a family emergency and had gone to ohio for a few months to help out and were doing the repairs there. not being used to the weather i came down with a horrible case of sinusitis and really was bedridden for a bit over a week. again i do thank you for your patience and i hope you were more than satisfied.
as for our shop we do have 2 techs but only one that is capable of doing board level soldering properly. i take great pride in doing a perfect job so if theres a chance to keep the warranty intact, my repair will go unnoticed.(worked and was trained by samsung so i know how they solder so its easy for me to replicate) we have 25 years total repair experience and we are guaranteed to not be a "you tube" shop where we watch a video and think we know everything.... i was trained by samsung, motorola, nokia, audiovox...
bottom line is we do things right the first time.... hope to help anyone in need.... i promise you wont be disapointed...

[Q] Micro-USB port worn out, what should I do?

Well, less than 4 months into owning my Verizon GNex, the Micro-USB port has worn out, rendering it un-chargeable. I'm well out of warranty at this point I suppose so any suggestions as to what I should do?

OK don't solder or weld or do anything else to it!!! send it to warranty threw verison or Samsung, if u do something stupid like solder or weld u will void warranty. Samsung turn round time is a week I've sent in two phones and they completely replaced with fresh new one ( screen issues)
Yeah, you're not out of warranty. Manufacturer warranty on the phone is one year (like pretty much every other OEM). Take it to the nearest Verizon store and they should help you out in replacing it under warranty.

Yea the warranty is a year as long as you haven't done anything like open it up just make sure its 100% stock and call Verizon and tell them. If your account isn't cash only they will send you a new one overnight. If it is cash only you have to go to a store and drop it off maybe 2 or three days later you'll be told to pick up your replacement at the same store. Super easy

You could also change it using the Pogo pins, touchstone mod etc.

Yeah I was about to do that since I had forgotten about manufacturer warranty. Well I guess I'll bring my phone back to stock 4.0.2 and call Verizon. Thanks guys!

Galaxy Nexus broken

Hi,
my friend dropped his Galaxy Nexus on the floor and broke the screen (glass and display). But the phone seems to be working, since it gives the vibration and a little sound when turned on and off. When connected to the PC the storage is displayed correctly (all the photos are there). The problem is when i stick the SIM and when i try to call it fails to receive the call, but afterward you can see the LED notification blinking the white color about every 7 secs.
Since i cannot return for warranty because it was dropped, now im looking to buy the display. Prices seem a bit high...
The question that I've got is this: Is it worth to Change the Display? Can I be sure that the phone will eventually work?
It concerns me the fact that maybe something else is damaged.
Any help or thought is appreciated.
Many thanks.
PS: My friend is a Noob when talking about phones and he didnt know whether it was on 4.0.4 or 4.2.1
It will work properly.
What is the price for screen ??

Thanks for your fast answer,
I've been searching over the internet and the lowest price i could find was about $120, was hoping a bit less since other phones like galaxy s3 was like $40. Can you find me any display?

Samsung Galaxy Nexus repair how to
Hi. Only to comment: My Galaxy Nexus bought on the Google Play store started freezing after 9 months... typical intermittent problem.
I had a hard time to find how to create a ticket request to have the Galaxy Nexus repaired.
This is the web page with information:
CAN"T POST LINKS!!! www[dot]samsung[dot]com[slash]us[slash]support[slash]service[slash]warranty[slash]GT-I9250M
I called the Samsung Android phones repair center (at midnight PDT) and got the ticket number, service repair approval. They sent me the regular mail label and I sent it. Now I'm waiting for the repaired phone.
Good luck.

[Q] What model do i have?

Hi all,
I was wondering if someone could clear up an query i have.
I have a note 8.0 3g with a broken screen, ordered a replacement screen for a n5100 (i thought this was the model i had).
The screen has not arrived yet but some new housing i ordered has arrived also for the n5100.
Problem = the housing for n5100 does not fit as it has a micro usb where as mine has a large 30pin connector.
So my question is what model do i have?
Currently its in bits so can't really plug it in to Kies.
Thanks in advance.
I could be wrong but im pretty sure the note 8.0 only has a micro usb port :/.
Does your tablet have a model number on the back

Thanks for the reply. Just to throw another spanner in the works I have received my screen but it doesnt fit into the bezel. The screen works and I have checked the model in about device and its a gt-n5100. What the im so confused now, one thing I did notice is that after a factory reset the default language was danish or checz.
So just to confirm I also checked all visible markings on the board and back plate and all state gt-n5100!
Help!

You have a bootleg tablet. Another member a while back posted pictures of 2 note 8s that he had. One like you described, and a legit one. Sounds like yours may be a counterfeit or some very early batch they ran before they changed to a micro USB. I have a feeling you will have a hard time getting parts. What happens when you enter the serial number on Samsung's support site? Did you buy it from a reputable dealer?
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 4
Ok so after some very extensive research and contacting some part remanufacture s in china they have clarified I have an early demo/exhibition model and they are infact the same as the current model bar the housing, back, speakers and charge port. So I shall order more parts and transplant them.
Ill keep you all posted on my progress and thank you for the replys

Replacing battery

Hi all
I have noticed my battery has slowly been getting worse, was just curious if anyone in the UK knows if there is any place where you can get a new battery put in?
Thanks all
Chris
@chrisnewton
Your best bet would be contacting ASUS directly in the UK.
I called them up last year and they sorted my Nexus by offering a replacement. They even replied to all my emails when I contacted them.
They also linked me to few franchises in case I do not want to deliver my device to them.

Why not replace it yourself? Buy a battery used on eBay then follow one of the guides on YouTube. Was planning to do this, but worried about the special tools needed to open case. Then tried the finger method and it was easy. One thing to check is if your usb port might be the problem. After scratching the pads to remove any build up my n7 is changing properly again.
