I have an HTC One m9 that appears to be hard bricked via a corrupted attempt to flash firmware.
If you want more details you can read here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...viperonem9-1-0-0-tweaks-hub-t3072773/page1495
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...erizon-htc-one-m9-marshmallow-t3316279/page52
Long story short, I think a bad USB port on my laptop sent a corrupted firmware file to my HTC One m9 and now it is completely unresponsive.
1. No lights
2. No lights when charging
3. Does not get warm when charging
4. Long press of any combination and any time does nothing. I have tried Power + Vol Up, Power + Vol Dwn, Power + Vol Up + Vol Dwn for at least 3 minutes each. Nothing
So, is there any way for me to unbrick this phone? I read about hard bricks being possible to undo by using a Riff Box and JTAG connection, but the latest HTC model I saw supported was an m7. Perhaps there is some service where I can send the phone and they can unbrick it for a modest fee?

Hello Guys!
I have a big problem. I would return to s-on. For that I used adb and the backup of part7. I used the "dd" command on mmcblk0p18..........and now, my phone doesn't boot. I think, my phone was brick. Have anyone an idea? Repair Service?
For any help I'm very thanksful.
With best regaurds
Update 1: After hold Power + Vol Down and plug in the battery, the phone vibrate and the green LED turns on, but nothing happen. By pressing Power + Vol Up the phone vibrate again, but the red LED was blinking.
Ouch.... It appears u dd'd it to death!
Dangerous command that.
Dont know if u had the right partition there.
Can u boot into hboot? (vol down + power)
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Yes, I think it, too.
No, cant boot into hboot.........
I think, I'd use the wrong partition. I will send to service and I hope, that no one see that I use S-Off and root, because the waranty.

It seems you have full radio S-OFF via gfree, because of that blinkied red LED mode. That's a special mode where you're talking to the OSBL, I believe, and in theory there are some recovery options there. However, I have no idea whether it's possible to write a new bootloader from that point or not. So far, to my knowledge, nothing has been posted up here about what you can do in that mode (which might be because no-one has figured it out yet ? I don't know).
Without any extra input on that, your phone is bricked.
after a month of using, today, while driving and uding a navigation software (while the desire is plugged into charger) the phone shut down, i turned it on and then again it shut down and when i tried again to turn it on it stucked on the htc logo.
what can i do?
using a stock rom...

you can put your question in the Desire Q&A forum or in the Desire general forum.
some one? please?
Have you tried taking out the battery for a few minutes and putting it back in?
Could be phone battery got too much power from your car charging port. If thats the case, maybe you could exchange the battery.
yes, i have tried, i think the problem is with to rom, but i cant install any new rom coz they all need rooted device and to root the device i need it to be turned on
If it's the stock rom send it back to HTC for repair. Mention that it has a faulty motherboard. If you don't want to send it back boot in to fastboot or recovery and do a factory reset to see if it changes anything.
Don't ask how to do that just search.
why do you think that this is a motherboard problem?
i have tried a hard reset and it stuck on the same place - the htc logo.
and i have searched before i posted my question...
anyone? please?
some one? i need some help please
If you are running a stock rom, it can definately not be something wrong with the rom, as there are no way! Files in the rom(/system) can be changed while you were using the phone. So if a factory reset as mentioned earlier doesn't solve the problem, you will need to send it in for repair. Do a factory reset by:
1. hold down "vol down" and press "power" while keeping the "vol down" pressed
2. Choose recovery by using volume keys and power button
3. when seeing the red triangle and the ! hold "vol up" and press "power"
4. in the menu choose factory reset by using volume keys and power button
if you can't do first step(boot into bootloader), or this doesn't help the problem, you will have to send it in for repair...
and for god's sake do not try to root, as you will just void the warranty.
same thing happend me too yesterday. i search everywhere... found nothing.
phone charge is empty and turned off.. wont came again. stuck on HTC logo screen. i tried Vol (-) + Power button to Recovery, phone restarting and again stuck same screen. i cant install any rom.
i was buy in germany i'm living in turkey and call customer service, they said: "we cant get warranty your device. because you get it out of turkey"
how can i fix this pls help..
hboot: 0.93.0001
radio: 5.11.05.27
rom: stock ota update 2.29.405.9 (i think was last update this)
Hi guys. Im pretty experienced with android but this one has me stumped. My buddies brother has a stock/non-rooted optimus g e971 on Rogers. He changed his screen lock password and forgot what it is. Of course he never register a Gmail account so I can't recover that way. I figure no problem. Shut down, pwr+vol down to factory reset. Well nope doesn't work. It flashes the lg logo twice then boots like normal.
Ok so I figure I'll just put it in download mode/fast boot to do the factory reset. Tried pwr+vol up. Nope. Vol up+vol down+pwr. Nope. Vol up+vol down and plug usb+pwr. Nope. It just flashed the lg logo twice then boots like normal. I've tried multiple variations of each holding the pwr for different lengths of time, always with the same result.
Anyone have any suggestions? It's not bricked, and the vol keys are working, it just won't go into any modes.
also I dont know if he has hardware encryption enabled (of if thats even an option on this device) but would that even prevent me from getting into factory reset / download mode?
Also I check that the vol rocker is working. when it is on but screen is off, if i click the vol rocker either way it wakes the screen.
I have a similar problem. Here's a thread I made about it http://forum.xda-developers.com/optimus-g-intl/help/enter-download-mode-t2883542.A couple of guys had some ideas.None worked in my phone but maybe you're luckier.
If you haven't done that already you should try going into download mode by pressing power up+down and plug the cable, don't press the pwr button.
If you find a solution pls let me know .
Yup, you shouldn't need to press the power button for download mode.
First, make sure you have the LG United Mobile drivers installed on the PC you're using. Then plug your USB cable into the PC (not the phone yet). Simultaneously press and hold the Vol +/- buttons, and hold for 10 seconds. Then while still holding the vol buttons, connect the micro usb to the phone.

Doesn't work either. If I hold +/- for 10 sec then plug in the usb it flashes the lg logo twice, then goes to the battery charging screen. If I hold +/- for 20 sec then plug in the usb it flashes the lg logo twice then boots like normal.
after reading this post i went and tried if i also cant get into the recovery and the same happened to me, the LG logo just flashes and nothing happens. mine is stock E975 (4.4.2).
worked for me.

Android has SD card encryption disabled by default - but if it was enabled it shouldnt disable recovery/fastboot - right?
Even if the bootloader is locked, i should still be able to get into fastboot/download mode, and/or recovery, right?

That's what i figured, but i didn't know if there is some quirk with this device i wasn't aware of.
Is it possible i have a corrupt boot loader? Again this device I'd completely stock.
anyone?
Hello, I recently unlocked my device via Bump, but unfurtunately, I cant get to my recovery via hardware keys (but I can via adb and app). Can somebody help me please?
Edit: I tried sort of methods, volume down+ power then release then press again.
Try holding both the volume down and power at the same time without releasing the power button. That's how mine is.
Well i had a G2 and it was hold the power + volume down until you saw the LG Logo then release them for a second then re hold the power + volume down again. i have a Verizon lg g3 or the VS985 model and kept trying that over and over after i bumped my G3, and after trying for like 10 mins i figured out that it was different all i have to do on my vs985 is keep holding power + volume down until the white screen comes on where you select factory reset to gwt in to TWRP
Still no luck guys, what is wrong with my unit .
Hi
I have an International version of N7105 running stock 4.1.2 unrooted. Yesterday, I tried to update Android with OTA. After a few hours download for the 800Mb update, it prompted for installation. The installation started with a green Android icon on the screen. The phone was on charger for the whole time. Once the installation is done, it prompted for reboot. The phone never come back since then.
Press Down+Home+Power does nothing, in fact, none of the buttons do anything (hard bricked ?). I also tried all button combinations while the phone is plugged to the computer, it still did not boot.
I fully charge the battery again with another charger and tried the buttons again. Nothing happened. I left the phone there over night without charging. This morning, the battery was flat (tested it on my friend's N7100). That means there might be something trying run even thought the screen did not turn on, which consumed all the battery power.
May I know if there is any way to revive the phone ?
Tried to remove the battery?
Then, replace the battery and try power + volume-up (or was it down?) again
"Press Down+Home+Power does nothing"
I have tried those key combinations. Nothing happened.
I also made one USB jig using micro USB connector and 300k resistor. It can put my friend's N7100 into download mode. But does nothing on the N7105.

power, home and volume up simultaneaously. it may take a few tries to get it exactly right.

Thanks for the advice. If the above key combination works, it is called soft bricked. Hard bricked means the unit is does not respond to any key combinations.
