Hi, I just received my Pixel C, updated to Oreo, but there is no google assistant when I hold the home button. Is it not on the Pixel C or do i just need to wait for it to be pushed out to me?
Thanks

Hello everyone, is here any posibility to turn off Google Assistant when long press home button?. On Oreo I pressed Advanced Features - there I find Google and I can disable it. Now I can't find it anywhere - was this option dissabled?.
you should be able to disable it in the Google app settings under Assistant tab
Thnx for answer but everything is gray there, so I can't switch nothing. Also, the best case will be if is any possibility to don't start google assistant when long press home button - that's the main problem. When I use gestures, lot of time I want to go back to home screen but the google assistant will start. Any ideas?

if you don't use the google app at all, just disable it trough the application settings of the phone, this will stop assistant at 100%
I want to know if it is possible to remap the shortcut that wake Bixby with power key to activate google assistant. I have root and i want to do this without any 3rd apps if it's possible, anyone can help me?
Bixby fails......
Bixby is not working properly. This is not even undersranding the basic things. It used to work properly before but not now. Others assistents(google assistant). work properly than the in-built assistant(Bixby). I request samsung to please remove bixby and put google assistant as major assistant . This might be a good change for all samsung users . Either upgrade your assistant or upgrade the phone features.
Anyone know how to activate the Google Assistant by holding the home button with 3-button navigation. I've been able to do that for years on my Pixel 3, but I can't seem to find that setting on the Pixel 6 Pro.

Not exactly a reply to your question as such, but perhaps you could use the quick tap to launch Google assistant or long press power menu. Whilst not the home button these are the two ways I'm aware of.
If you're rooted there may be another way via Gravitybox but unsure of A12 is supported so the A11 version may not work properly/at all.....

Did your Pixel 3 still have that ability after Android 12? I would guess they took it out with that update since they added holding the power button. There's still the swipe from the bottom corners option too.

Sadly my Pixel 3 got the Black Screen of Death three weeks before Android 12 was release.

Sorry to hear that. So from what I can tell, with 3-buttons, it looks like they want those users to do the hold power button. The corner gesture is only available with system gestures on.
After a handful of weeks with my Pixel 6 Pro I'm still getting the hang of getting my phone back to the way I like it. I re-enabled the buttons at the bottom of the screen for a variety of reasons. The biggest one being that for me gestures are kind of difficult due to some problems with my hand. But now, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to press and hold the home button to get Google Assistant pop up. I don't want to do it with the power button and I've already disabled all that. I'd like my tried and true home button functionality. I know this works because my pixel 3 XL with Android 12 still had it. I just can't figure out how to get it re-enabled. Can anybody tell me what I'm missing in the settings?
Yep I don't want the power button either and the home button on 3 dot navigation is not either lol, Rather odd considering Google is heel bent on their smart assistant and yet it doesn't work with the home button.
