Its possible to Turn off Google Assistant on Android Pie? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hello everyone, is here any posibility to turn off Google Assistant when long press home button?. On Oreo I pressed Advanced Features - there I find Google and I can disable it. Now I can't find it anywhere - was this option dissabled?.

you should be able to disable it in the Google app settings under Assistant tab

Thnx for answer but everything is gray there, so I can't switch nothing. Also, the best case will be if is any possibility to don't start google assistant when long press home button - that's the main problem. When I use gestures, lot of time I want to go back to home screen but the google assistant will start. Any ideas?

if you don't use the google app at all, just disable it trough the application settings of the phone, this will stop assistant at 100%

Long press home not bringing up assistant

When i long press the home button i get the animation, but assistant doesn't open. It will open with my voice though. Tried the Nova Launcher method unsuccessfully.
Edit: It is because i changed my display size smaller in settings. Working now.

Google assistant animation home button?

I basically have my home button not set for Google assistant, yet everytime I tap the home button to close out a screen I get that Google circles animation occuring when touching the home button.
I managed to get rid of this behavior by re-enabling Google app as I had it disabled before.
It appears that disabling the Google app is what triggers the home button animations, regardless of having Google assistant off . Bug or feature?

Question Remap Double Press Power Button to Google Assistant

Does anyone know how I can get the double press to enable Google Assistant back after upgrading to the 12 beta? sideActions worked great on 11, but isn't working on the 12 beta.... Isn't it time that Samsung just gives up on Bixby anyways,,,,,
I'm in the beta and I use side actions. But I paid for the premium or pro in app purchase and then used my PC to disable Bixby completely and runs great. But my power button set to hold is google assistant
Bixby, first thing I deleted Tru ADB
Can you tell me which packages I need to delete? I know the ADB commands, I just don't want to remove something that is system dependent.... don't want to brick it or have to flash again. Thanks!

Question Home button for assistant?

Does anyone know how to get the 'hold home button for assistant' option back?
I really miss this handy feature that worked on my Google pixel 3XL. Holding power button is no where near as useful and now home button does nothing at all.. a wasted button.
I've been trying to find a a root module but not having any luck

Under "gestures" in settings, I have double tap back of phone to activate google assistant. Also with Nova Launcher Prime you can assign different gestures for different app shortcuts. IE. I have swipe up for camera, double tap screen to turn off screen. etc..
Gesture Plus (app)
I'm in the same boat... I have the phone set to double tap the back for assistant, but every so often (far too often), double tapping the back doesnt do anything and so i have to look up the assistant app. Its really annoying, gonna try nova launcher settings, if that dont work, i dunno... I'm considering going back to my OnePlus 8 Pro, this phone has been failing me badly with its lag spikes, features not working, and other issues. Camera's amazing though!
