AT&T unlocked & NFC enabled SIM card - Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I juz got a unlocked AT&T active s7 and have been using fine in my country ( not in USA ) . I'm on 7.0 nougat version BQA7 that installed via recovery.
I decided yesterday to have my conventional SIM card changed to NFC-Sim so that I could use it for my train fares in my country but apparently the apps I'm using says that my NFC SIM card is non NFC enabled Sim . I checked this Sim in my other phones and apparently is working well for NFC payment.
Question : as anyone of you here has got luck in using NFC SIM or its jus that AT&T disabled this feature in their s7A ? Or is nougat 7.0 that I'm using disabled NFC SIM card ?
Thanks , Any lights for me is greatly appreciated.

are you not able to use an app that uses the phones NFC ?

I'm using a NFCsim card that supposedly is able to be top up with values ( using Samsung pay) for my time town's transport fare. But the app for adding values detects the NFCsim card in my phone Sim tray as not a NFCsim card (but in fact it is) . I use the same card in a S7 edge and it works flawless. I was thinking if s7 active isn't compatible with NFCsim.
Btw , my s7 active has a working NFC.

Can the Note 2 be used without a sim card?

Like the title says "Can the Note 2 be used without a sim card?" if so what functions are available? Like handwritten notes, wifi, bluetooth and android apps?
You can do anything you want as if it was a tablet/computer.....only you cant make calls.
As long as you log into your google account you can access the 'Play' store, your Samsung account (if you have one) will enable that cloud functionality etc
All the apps will work fine unless there is a requirement on the phone functionality. I used my Note 2 for a couple of days like this as my old number was getting ported.

Yes... and you can make at least 'some' calls without a sim card. All you need is wifi. If your friends also have a google account, you can call them for free using the "talk" app... as long as they are connected to the net of course. Still use my simless Note 1 in this way.

I ask because some smart phones will not work if they do not have some kind of carrier service.

Okay. I understand the theory of a sim card, But can a person owning this phone
have only (1) sim card in and still be able to make calls> or does it require (2) sim cards?

I don't understand your question. I have one sim card (t-mobile) and I make calls using the sim card or I can make calls using wifi and the app talkatone. I can change the sim card for another carrier like Lycamobile and make calls using that service.

As I understand it, the only way to get your phone to unlock the Samsung Ezon is to be using Google Wallet and use the Loyalty Cards feature. I don't think the Note has Google Wallet so you might be out of luck. I have been trying to do the same thing for months now with a One X, One, S4 and Nexus to no avail.
from a google search I found this quote
your mobile phone to be your access key. This would then allow you to control when your card is active and when it is not. If you have an Android device that supports Google Wallet, you’re all set. The trick is to have Google Wallet installed with at least one “Loyalty Card” setup in the wallet, then make sure the card is enabled. Doing this enables NFC card emulation on your device which will present a UID to the EZon when it is within range. This type of card emulation is different from your payment information (so you don’t have to worry about the lock charging your bank account each time you unlock it). You can then enroll your phone just like a physical access card to the EZon and use your phone to unlock the device. The added benefit is that when your phone’s screen is turned off, card emulation is off as well which makes things a lot harder to tap and then clone.

Google Wallet on your T-Mo SG4 without ANY hacks

So some of you may know that today (11/14/13) ISIS went live nationally in the US. I popped into one of T-Mobile's many fine stores and replaced my sim card with a secure element sim card that will allow you to use ISIS. Well long story short I installed the google wallet app to find to my surprise that it worked! Check out the pictures below.
You can access Google Wallet (Thanks to PhantomRampage for correcting me)
Tap to pay does not work from what I see however if you have used it in the past and added your credit cards,
your cards will still exist. Someone will need to test this to see if maybe it could work regardless and if not then
maybe a patched .apk could be created to allow tap to pay?
This method might work on AT&T and Verizon phones as well (with an ISIS sim card)
Everyone can install the app from the market now, but only 'supported' devices can use the tap and pay function. Check to see if that option is available to you. Probably isn't.

Exactly. Everyone can install Wallet now, even non-NFC phones. They only enable the tap to pay and NFC functionality if the phone is "supported". If you want the tap to pay, I believe you still still have to mod it. I was using the framework mod and the build prop mod to get it to work. Pretty simple.

OK here is what they DONT TELL YOU!!
I called bell to ask if i have an NFC SIM. NO.
NO CANADIAN BELL USER HAS BEEN GIVEN AN NFC SIM WITH THEIR PHONE. YOU MUST GO TO BELL STORE TO GET A FREE SIM UPGRADE.
ALSO. the guy at bell said they have a notice from RBC telling users to go to:
http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/mobile/wallet/nfc-update/
and fill out the form, and an RBC agent will contact you and arrange a push update to your NFC SIM to enable RBC wallet to work.
I am running a SGS4 from bell running a 4.4.2 google edition rom (by danvdh), with build.prop edited back to my original model number from bell.
I just got back from the bell store and have my NFC sim installed. I have the new RBC app installed.
The new card option on first page of RBC app (seen in screenshots from RBC site) is not visible on my device.
I have filled out the form and am waiting for a call back, i imagine this push update will enable the missing button in RBC app.
will update with more information as it comes available.
ONE WEIRD THING...
since i installed my NFC SIM, my phone is telling me i have a voicemail that does not exist. wont go away.

Great. I have RBC and would love this feature but I have a Nexus 5 and am on Telus. I tried the market changer and also the app to change the model of the phone but it didn't work. I would love someone to hack this thing. Why do they restrict it to a specific device and a specific network?

security, and controlled release. and the network has to support NFC sim cards and supply them for free.
also even with network change and device ID change, you have to fill out the form and have RBC push an update to your NFC Sim sercure element.

Any updates on this? I have the NFC sim, RBC emailed me and said everything has been activated but the wallet menu doesn't appear in the app. I'm on a rooted GS4 with a custom 4.4 rom installed with bell. The only problem I can think of is my rom. After a month, can you update us on how things are going with this app?
really? just 2 posts up? working on rooted modded STOCK rom, could not get running on custom.
i know this is an old thread, seems like rbc took away the requirement to push an update to the sim, can the build prop be modded for a work around? thnaks
Just hearing of this, shame I'm on Telus and about to close my RBC account.

NFC not working with French public transit card (navigo card) ?

I have the official global version with last official update. In France we are using a NFC public transit card which informations can be loaded on the phone using this official app : "vianavigo" on google play.
It's working fine with my old Xiaomi Mi 5 when i make contact between the card and and the back of the phone, i can see details hosted on the card (like the validity date ect...). On the Redmi nothing happen when i make contact between the card and the phone, is it a problem with NFC hardware on the phone ? What is the difference with the Mi 5 ?
I'm supposed to be able to pay my ticket and load it into the card just with NFC of the phone and the app (its working fine on Mi 5).

I tested the connectivity with the nfc test tool from the phone developer menu : a bank credit card is detected by the phone, but not my Navigo card
I have read somewhere that this phone is equiped with NXP-SN100T NFC chip. Western european transit cards are using Calypso NFC technology.
Anyone knows if this chip is compatible with Calypso NFC cards ?? Or only compatible with Mirfare cards ?
