NFC not working with French public transit card (navigo card) ? - Redmi Note 8 Pro Questions & Answers

I have the official global version with last official update. In France we are using a NFC public transit card which informations can be loaded on the phone using this official app : "vianavigo" on google play.
It's working fine with my old Xiaomi Mi 5 when i make contact between the card and and the back of the phone, i can see details hosted on the card (like the validity date ect...). On the Redmi nothing happen when i make contact between the card and the phone, is it a problem with NFC hardware on the phone ? What is the difference with the Mi 5 ?
I'm supposed to be able to pay my ticket and load it into the card just with NFC of the phone and the app (its working fine on Mi 5).

I dit it already but still nothing happened when i make contact between the card and the phone. It's very strange because i'm sure NFC is working as i use it every day with my Sony headset, i make contact and the headset switch on and connect to the phone via bluetooth.

I tested the connectivity with the nfc test tool from the phone developer menu : a bank credit card is detected by the phone, but not my Navigo card

I have read somewhere that this phone is equiped with NXP-SN100T NFC chip. Western european transit cards are using Calypso NFC technology.
Anyone knows if this chip is compatible with Calypso NFC cards ?? Or only compatible with Mirfare cards ?

[Q] HTC One X NFC Reader/Writer

Hi XDA,
I'd like to confirm with you guys if you already tested HTC One X NFC to write on tags? Reading should not be an issue. What tag types can you recommend on writing using One X's NFC?
Thanks,
Skidz
I bought a starter pack of tags from rapidnfc which included a variety of different size sticker tags, a wrist band and a key chain fob.
I have written a few tags to test them out but only have 1 that I'm using in a real world situation (stuck to my laptop so I scan it turns my phone into a wifi hotspots which my laptop then connects to.
Sent from my ARHD powered HOX
I read and wrote some 1K and 4K cards and tags and also read an E-Passport (image, data...), no problems.
I also ordered a started pack from rapidnfc looking forwards to some stickers...

Hi,
Which e-passport are you referring? Are the cards and tags rewritable also?
Thanks

Czech passport with biometry - I think all new European passports (can) have RFID inside. All that was needed to read it was to provide passport number, date of birth and expiration date, and it decrypted the passport and displayed info (used NFC Taginfo app.)
Yes, when you buy blank cards they are rewritable, even some cards you get for access to buildings/garages, or loyalty cards are not locked and can be re-used (depends on how serious they were about security ).
anybody knows how the power usage is for NFC?
Is it a huge drain on the battery?
a friend of mine has some tags laying around and i'm picking them up next saturday.
Want to program a few tags for a couple of tasks
1) Disable BT and enable WiFi when i'm home
2) Disable WiFi and enable BT when i'm in the car
3) Start NAV when i dock my phone in my car mount
4) Disable WiFi and BT when i'm @ work

I should try on my passport also using NFC Taginfo. By the way, I'm using farebot to read my mrt card info, how can I use the info itself to be written on different card?
Thanks

I think, the power usage of NFC is not bad unlike GPS can drain faster. But if your really want to save battery, try to switch off 3G/Wifi/GPS, etc and decrease the brightness.

You can't just clone a passport, not possible. It is like a smartcard - you ask it for data, provide some password, and it gives you the data. You don't just "read" it.

mrt? what is that?
But the probable answer is no - altough you can read and write almost anything, security is usually also tied to the UID of the card, and you can't (usually ;-))) change that. Also, more secure cards don't allow themselves to be read completely - you can just increment/decrement some counter or make them ID themselves.

Actually, mrt is a train service in my country. Their card is NFC supported and I'm able to read its data. What I want is if I can add extra data to the card or copy its data to another mrt card. Is overwriting possible without losing its current data?

Not really, just want to try adding commands to my existing CEPAS card using NFC.
i have similar idea, so maybe will join this thread.
my thoughts are to clone travel card (to phone) and use phone instead of card (p.ex. to open gates in metro).
is it possible? i couldn't find any app on market
The problem with some actions like change wifi, etc, is the need to unlock the screen for all the actions.
I understand the security point of view, but if I need to unlock the screen, and touch it on a tag, is easier to click a shortcut on my home.
Does have any paramter, or rom that alows to use NFC without unlocking the screen ?

Sorry in advance for the potentially daft question. I would like to do similar to what others have posted, ie a tag in the car to turn on BT and turn off WiFi etc. Will order some tags but don't know how to write them. Can the One X write to the tags using NFC ReTag or similar? If not whats the procedure?
Thanks all

As I understand it, the only way to get your phone to unlock the Samsung Ezon is to be using Google Wallet and use the Loyalty Cards feature. I don't think the Note has Google Wallet so you might be out of luck. I have been trying to do the same thing for months now with a One X, One, S4 and Nexus to no avail.
from a google search I found this quote
your mobile phone to be your access key. This would then allow you to control when your card is active and when it is not. If you have an Android device that supports Google Wallet, you’re all set. The trick is to have Google Wallet installed with at least one “Loyalty Card” setup in the wallet, then make sure the card is enabled. Doing this enables NFC card emulation on your device which will present a UID to the EZon when it is within range. This type of card emulation is different from your payment information (so you don’t have to worry about the lock charging your bank account each time you unlock it). You can then enroll your phone just like a physical access card to the EZon and use your phone to unlock the device. The added benefit is that when your phone’s screen is turned off, card emulation is off as well which makes things a lot harder to tap and then clone.

AT&T unlocked & NFC enabled SIM card

Hi all,
I juz got a unlocked AT&T active s7 and have been using fine in my country ( not in USA ) . I'm on 7.0 nougat version BQA7 that installed via recovery.
I decided yesterday to have my conventional SIM card changed to NFC-Sim so that I could use it for my train fares in my country but apparently the apps I'm using says that my NFC SIM card is non NFC enabled Sim . I checked this Sim in my other phones and apparently is working well for NFC payment.
Question : as anyone of you here has got luck in using NFC SIM or its jus that AT&T disabled this feature in their s7A ? Or is nougat 7.0 that I'm using disabled NFC SIM card ?
Thanks , Any lights for me is greatly appreciated.
are you not able to use an app that uses the phones NFC ?
I'm using a NFCsim card that supposedly is able to be top up with values ( using Samsung pay) for my time town's transport fare. But the app for adding values detects the NFCsim card in my phone Sim tray as not a NFCsim card (but in fact it is) . I use the same card in a S7 edge and it works flawless. I was thinking if s7 active isn't compatible with NFCsim.
Btw , my s7 active has a working NFC.

Is Sim NFC stops Mobile NFC?

Android Oreo has NFC bug

In RR5.8.5(Android7.1.2) and MIUI, I can use an APP CEP pay to pay for Chinese traffic union bus,it use HCE wallet. But in Oreo,i tried a lot roms, such as AEX,Comsic and RR6.0,but it can't work anymore. Then in found that my phone always stay at NFC cardreader mode, even if I set CEP as default NFC app. What's more, when my friend's Xiaomi 6 closed to my 5s and he has Xiaomi wallet bus card(official in Chinese MIUI),his card will be wake up,that is a reason that I found my phone always in card reader mode. Dose someone know why is this?

Google Pay issue

We have 9 se phones, MIUI 11, Android 10. I install Gpay, I added my Curve card last October, I paid with NFC, it worked until February. Since then, the card has been rejected by Gpay as a paypass payment device. Customer service is diverting, not doing anything.
And now comes the curiosity: I took out my old OnePlus 3 phone, installed Gpay, added my Curve card (same card, same Google account!) And it works! But only with the OnePlus phone, even though it's rooted! Mi9se is a global (MIXM) ROM. Can MIUI stir?
Tapatalkkal küldve az én Mi 9 SE eszközömről
G-Pay is not problem with Mi 9 SE (Miui and Custom roms). I am using every day. Try: https://github.com/davidramiro/gpay-gms-patch/blob/master/README.md
Hello, I had the same problem!
It turned out I had accidentally enabled the dual app feature for Google Pay, and it seems that's what causing it to glitch.
By enabling dual app with Miui, the phone creates a "Twin" app that enables the user to work on 2 apps at once, it seems that's what cause it to glitch.
The instructions they gave me are the following:
"1.Go to the Device Settings. Scroll down and touch "Dual applications".
2. Check if the dual applications are turned off. In the same window, tap the settings button (gear icon) in the top right corner.
3. Tap Dual application accounts> Delete data from dual application accounts.
4. Restart your device and open Google Pay."
After that remember to unlink the card completely and trying to re-link the card.
I hope it helps!
The problem persists.
I'm starting to think that the phone itself or its software is the cause of the problem.
I tried multiple NFC-enabled phones with the same Google Account and the same Curve credit card.
Phones tested:
Oneplus 3, Huawei P Smart, Sony Xperia M4.
It works on all of them, only Mi9Se rejects touch payment.
The phone is intact, BL is not open, no root, MIUI: Global 11.0.4.0 (QFBMIXM)
???????????????
PLS Help!
No one?
I just can't believe that Gpay touch payment has been working on the phone for almost half a year, then from one moment to the next it no longer works and there is no explanation or solution!
As I wrote, it works on every other type of phone I can find nearby. This will also start the registration and I will get a "touch registration cannot be completed" error message.
Since it works on several other phones (including OnePlus 3, which is rooted with an open loader), I can only imagine that either the type (MI 9Se) is banned from the system or its software.
I want to use this phone for my daily work, I should with Gpay NFC!
