Im wanting to Convert my EE UK H815 to an Open Europe G4. I can flash any KDZ, the Software version under > About Phone > Software Info> is always:
V10c-234-30 (I assume the "234.30" is EE UK).
Im wanting to Convert it to:
V10c.EUR.XX
Do I have to Unlock the Bootloader, then flash the Open Europe Rom.. to convert it.
Thanks
You are not required to unlock the bootloader in order to flash any kdz's, for safe operation backup your files from the device to pc/laptop then load your kdz up and do a CSE flash which will minimize the appearance of errors
Be careful when "converting" to another variant's firmware. You can very easily complete f-up your modem.
Hmmm, Good point. Im just wondering whether I should just leave the phone alone and get the updates as and when EE release them.
I think you mis-understand me CraigHardy. Ive flashed about 3 KDZ roms on my G4 using the methord on here. The roms flash on the device fine.. UK, Open EU and General EU.. all work great, BUT.. after flashing the Software Version under Settings > About Phone still says "234.30", instead of "EUR.XX", which means EE UK mustve somehoiw locked the bootloader of altered the EFI partition before retail, so that EE users always have an EE phone connected to EE servers, with EE OTAs. I want to make my G4 EUR.xx so I can get an OTA from LG on release day instead of waiting weeks for EE.
So do I need to unlock the bootloader to make my G4 EUR.xx, or is there a different way, however, if it is EEs bootloader and I cant re-lock it from LG, ill wait and support the XDA devs..
Maybe I'm post a litle bit too early. But I read that AT&T and T-Mo G4s got their marshmallow update.
Any hopes on the H810PR getting said update? Or should we have a Custom ROM of sorts?
I'm on Claro PR btw.
I wonder if you could flash the ATT H81010o and update from there?
Was there ever another update for the H810PR?
Sorry for the delay...
If the correct way to check an update is: Settings > Device Tab > About Phone > Software Update > Check for Update
Then at the time of post, there wasn't any updates. However as I was writing this post, currently I'm just unable to access the updates server?
I wonder that too, is there much of any difference? :/ if we could flash the normal AT&T Version over to the PR version then we'd had little to no trouble.
/Bump/ Anyone got it yet?
Hi i have the same model as you and i haven't gut the update yet still in 5.1. h810PR10a
i have been on Claro PR for a long time and they are real slow updating there phones i wish we could just flash a international ROM from the h815 model but i dont know if that is safe or will end up in a brick phone
nvm
May be the wrong thread , but i can not find a general discussion about G4. I have a question : in the default mail app (not Gmail app) is it possible if you have multiple mail accounts to receive an e-mail on one account and forward it from another account ? Briefly - if the mail app allows to choose from which account to reply/forward ?
Thanks in advance

Think we could use AT&T's Image? I thought so too, since they only seem to care about users and the devices, not the updates...
To be honest, I'm dying to get it so I can root it once it's rootable.
Any update on the Marshmallow update for the H810PR? Also can anybody tell me what's the band frequency for 3g, HSPA & UMTS on the H810PR?
AT&T to Claro
I have the LG G4 H810 it was AT&T then when I tried to flash MM flashed Claro LP and it's working , so I think it's possible to flash AT&T MM
Don't update to MM
if you update to MM then your security settings option maybe not work
i also have h810 when i update it to MM through OTA Updates then i can't access Security settings when i click on security then unfortunetly com.settings stopped error comes up so i suggest you to don't update it after this i want to downgrade into lolipop
unfortunetly i am failed to downgrade it because my bootloader is locked now my device is hard bricked and show this on device manager "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" i know about QFIL method but sadly i don't have flash files of h810 for QFIL software
Hello,
Long story short, I have obtained my phone back from repair in Hong Kong (I am located in Australia). Originally the model of G4 was a H815 using software version H81520D_00_0115 I believe from memory. This phone died because of it overheating causing to do a boot loop/stuck on LG Logo screen.
I ended up getting the phone back from Hong Kong, they replaced the mainboard as I thought and now the model of the phone thinks it is a H818N Dual Sim card LG G4 – Running software version V10c-DS1-HQ, which it clearly is not a dual sim card G4 because there is no additional sim card slot. Anyway, phone seems to be working well except the rear camera does not focus (I have had this issue in the past and I resolved the issue by installing the correct software version, eg 20A, 20C, 20D etc.) Trying to update the phone using software update does not reveal any updates. Using LG Bridge reveals an available update for it, it thinks the software version was 20F or 20H not sure, however when it goes to download it does not get past 0% tested on two PC’s.
I have installed the images I have found for the H818N now which are:
Hong Kong H818N10b.kdz (this one worked the best as it didn’t come up with that error message when you reboot if it’s an incompatible kdz image)
India H818N10d_00.kdz
India H818N 10F.kdz
With no success in fixing the rear camera issue. I have not factory reset though as I don’t think it would have much of an impact.
Have tried to loading: H81520D.kdz image but the LGUP utility (which I have been using for the above process) says KDZ file is invalid, I assume this is because it detects the phone as H818.
Does anyone have any suggestions or locations where I could download more images to try like H818N 10A,B,C etc? Or if there is something I should do cause I have had nothing but issues with these phones
Kind regards
Caution: DO NOT try this on variants except for LS998 and VS996 unless you know deeply how the partitions work in LG systems.
Basic crossflashing method: Instead of choosing "UPGRADE" In the "process" menu, choose "PARTITION DL",then click "select all", confirm and there you go.
If running into problems in starting the phone, perform a data reset.
Cases: In China, numerous cases of LS998/VS996 successfully flashing US998 or AS998 or H933 and working fine have been confirmed, since second-hand phone dealers crossflash as a common practice for certain reasons. And LTE band 1 and 5 which are not active on LS998/VS996 before flashing are activated in the flashed US998 (the so-called Frankenstein) system. Dual sim also CAN BE recognized on VS996 with flashed H930DS system coz the circuit system seems to be identical among all the variants of V30. However with the baseband difference network is not working.

Sorry for the uneducated questions:
1. This will only work if the bootloader is already unlocked, correct?
2. You mention certain LTE bands become active, but later you say the network is not active due to baseband differences. Can you please clarify what that means for me and other low-tech users?
Thanks for your efforts!

1. It does not require an unlocked BL;
2. Only flashing H930DS on VS996(possibly LS998 as well) results in network problems.

That's interesting! So with this process, I can put an official LG ROM on my H933, with the end result of converting it to a different variant of the V30?
The H933 has not been provided with a bootloader unlock solution by LG, but some other V30 variants have. I am wondering if I could use this process to flash my device from H933 to a variant which has BL unlock available and then go ahead with that. Has that already been ruled out or confirmed possible?
Thanks again

CONVERTING ANY NORTH AMERICA V30/V30+ TO US998 OREO
That same procedure can be used to convert any North America LG V30/V30+ to another North American LG V30/V30+ -- except for T-mobile H932.

Yes you can convert it, with it seems full functionality. EXCEPT...
No, to the bootloader unlock -- at least on LG Developer Bootloader Unlock list website. That's eligible through IMEI range and they double check Device ID.
LG Developer Bootloader Unlock website then sends you a file you flash that is only good for that particular phone. Basically a custom code to unlock the bootloader with full flash commands available.
Think of it like the US998 or the H930G. Some are eligible for bootloader unlock, like the open market LG US998 or the Italian H939G. But there's plenty out they which are NOT eligible for bootloader unlock, like the U.S.Cellular model US998 or the Israeli H939G.
Just because you have that model doesn't mean LG will unlock the bootloader.

Whatever Frankenstein you change your original phone into, the BL CAN NOT be unlocked unless your IMEI and device id are effective to be used on LG bootloader unlocking page.
Right, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification gents

So... Does this actually mean it is finally possible to cross-flash one model number into another? I am more than tempted to try and flash my H933 to an H932. I don't really want to mess with my V30+ H932 though but the H933 I don't mind mucking up.

yes you can do it as you wish.
I flashed my US998 V30+ to the Verizon VS996. It gave me Oreo. Plus a working Verizon voicemail. My wife is no longer cursing me out for missing her voicemails.
I haven't tried going back yet, but I might if LG unlocks the V30+ bootloader.
Not holding my breath.

Do you have the modified lg up? You need that to see partition dl as one of your options.

basically If you are not seeing fastboot on screen after crossflashing, it is feasible.
Has anyone successfully flashed another devices firmware to the H932 yet? I mean without bricking their device.
Sent from my LG-H932 using XDA Labs
Can this totally brick my phone? Or if it is not working, can i just flash another one? Thank u for reply, appreciated??

you take all the risks and I recommend not messing up with your phones unless you know something about the LG way of flashing.

Does that essentially mean that we all could get root on all other models if the H932 is ever rooted?
This i kind of aimed at Chazz or anyone that understands a bit more in-depth what is contained in the unlock file LG sends out to those on the official unlock list. I'm guessing that the key is IMEI specific. Based on that. Is there some way to make one of those files generic or for some way for a user to take one of those files and change the information in it to the specific IMEI of their device? Before anyone asks. Changing your devices IMEI is a taboo subject here and also more than likely would need root. Chazz has multiple devices. I am wondering if he has tried his unlock bin on his V30+ or tried any methods to alter the bin to work with his V30+.
Hi all, I currently have a G7+ with the model number LM-G710EAW. From this site, there's a few EAW's that get the android 10 update, that is the HK, KR, and SEA. To this day, my phone is still on Android 8. Since that the only way to check the phone region via IMEI is now gone, I have to assume that my phone's region is IDN (I bought it in one of Indonesia's domestic store). With that, I have a few questions
1. Is it safe to flash a SEA KDZ to a IDN phone? Is there any possibility of bricking it?
2. What about the baseband compatibility? Can I still use the cellular network?
3. Is there another way to check an LG phone's region?
Thanks in advance!
