Not sure about you problem but Oreo is coming for your region Q1 2018 at the earliest
I had the same issue with mine except it was the selfie camera. The lens was just misaligned or something.
I have no idea how it happened, first time ever for me in a smartphone.
You may want to send your device to repair the camera module.
I have reasons to believe the OIS module stopped working and caused the camera cannot focus.
It could happen if you have dropped your phone, or leave your phone on a mount on bike for too long while cycling, anyway, any strong vibration can cause this problem.
90% of the time, camera issues are Hardware related. And sometimes they are just dirty and needs clean up. Other times, lenses are not aligned.
Regardless of the issue, you will probably need to send the phone for repairs.

I finally went on a trip this past weekend and tested the camera extensively. I took lots of 20MP pictures and 1080p videos, all of them outside. The camera keeps losing focus and has a very hard time finding it again. What's the problem? Is there a way to lock the focus or at least adjust it manually? Here is a video I recorded:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M33DArbxBcc&feature=youtu.be
This is really frustrating. At least 1/3 of the pictures I take come out blurry and out of focus, which is weird. I've taken pictures out of a moving car and many of them came out perfectly focused. Some of the other pictures I took without moving at all came out blurry. Videos are almost without exception guaranteed to go in and out of focus. I expected this phone to do better than that and am hoping it's a simple problem that can be solved. What has your experience been? How can you solve this?
P.S. I am using RomAur v1.2.
I have the same problem with stock rom. Focus is really bad. I hope they fix it in an update.
Same problem here with stock rom
Any updates on this issue? (here's another thread with no answers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703714)
I took some videos last week and I'm having exactly the same issues using rooted stock 4.4.4. The problem is even worse, if you are filming at night.

Your concern may be right. I didn't do many video testing in 4.4.4 so I can't confirm but I've also a feeling the focus is even slightly worse than 4.4.2 and quality is downed a bit too. The video is not sharp as and detailed because the denoise algorithm is stronger in 4.4.4.
True video lover might better stick with 4.4.2 but for most people they just won't notice it. But 4.4.4 is real improved photo so I think most guys will just go for 4.4.4.
Indeed, video is never real good on mobile, it is not Digital Video Recorder or DSLRs. HTC, Samsung and LG theirs video focus are not good too.
Strange...
I just tested it with my phone (rarely take any videos) and I had no problems with the focus. Even on quick change from near to far it adjusts quickly and does not lose focus.
I have the 4.4.4 stock camera installed.

hmmm.... in my post, I was talking only about video. Photo on the other hand already got improved focus in 4.4.4.
Testing camera indeed could be a very difficult and professional job because in every situation may got various results. You have no problem don't really meant others won't have it because we are in a completely different testing environment.
It won't everytime can't focus or all times can't do from near to far or else the camera is total defective and Sony will receive many complaint. The problem is our camera is always semi-break or buggy, it works but not that easy to predictable or unstable and works perfectly like a DSLRs because they got a much better software. The problem can be only happened in some specific environment.
The most useful camera trick for me was being able to refocus pictures after taking them.
And the M9 does not support that. I do see that the picture quality is better than the M8. But I use this feature so much along with the other features made possible because of the DUO Camera. No M9 for me!! (Unless something changes)
Anyone else disappointed with the M9 (it feels like a... M7.5, if you already have the M8 ) for whatever reason ?
There is an app 4 that
Im disappointed with the m9 as well
You can download the Bokeh camera... Open the camera app.. click on the Camera mode button (4 round circles in the bottom left of the screen, Click the big + sign... D/L'd the Bokeh camera.
Ive had this M9 now for 2 days, the first m9 I had went back for overheating, even after the 340MB update.. it didnt help the overheating
Coming from an M8 I was aware that the M9 is an incremental update, not a new flagship, but I love the audio and the awesome 4 UltraPixel Cam, so why the hell did HTC give into the UltraPixel Bashing and join the wagon train of MegaPixels, Why didnt HTC develop a 6 or even an 8 Ultrapixel camera. As a result of this cowardice theyve f++ked the camera up big time.
I followed the guide given here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59821245&postcount=274
As well as experimented and tried and tested it, to no avail.. and as a result Im stuck with a device worse than what they released last year;
A 20MPx image I took, looks worse a 5Mpx from the HTC desire, pure mush on the details, yet an 8Mpx can Rarely look stunning (Sorry Ive tried but cant upload any pics)
If anyone can give me a reason to keep the M9, please convince me, or I may send it to eBay.
How about anyone else
I would give you my M8 for your M9

Hi all.
my oneplus 3 got serious camera issue. hardware related. it wont focus well. sometimes it does sometimes it wont. i even blamed a custom rom for this. but now that i wend back to stock OOS still the problem remains.
My OP3 had a history where my son accidentally dropped it and really cost me a new screen replacement. since then i noticed the camera issue. could be the OIS mechanism that's faulty. dont really know.
i want to replace the camera module. i searched online and found the specific module for like 5$. i also found a caamera module for OnePlus 3T for the same price.
my question is, is it possible to install a Oneplus3T camera module on my Oneplus3? i know it has a slight quality bump that's why im considering. but does it fit? or will it work? thanks

Well if we ain't talking about the selfie cam. Then it should work since the back camera is exactly the same. Now I doubt it is an original part but you can always try for that $5..

well if it is exactly the same module.. then why bother getting the other one. but. how come they claim that they bump up the camera on the 3T. maybe they're talking about the front camera?

They are talking about the selfie camera, that one went from 8 to 16mp. The rear camera didn't change. Also the selfie camera does not have stabilization.
I have been using HTC 10 unlocked version with Oreo 8.0 since 2016. From past week onwards the HTC camera is not working as it was. The rear camera is having issues, the image taken in rear camera is blur. It is not auto focusing the object beyond 2 feet. The front camera is same as before no issues with front camera.
I have done factory reset but still having same problem.
Can any one suggest any solution for this..please

That's a hardware failure.
Only solution is a physical repair....

Hello
I cracked my op9 pro and got it replaced from a third party vendor instead of paying 300 usd. At the time the diaplay worked like brand new and he assured me it was original parts just cheaper because they kept the display part and just replaced my screen, whereas oneplus replaces both.
Phone was perfect for a few weeks, then randomly my cameras night and portrait modes stopped working . Now being a camera issue with the normal modes working i thought it was probably an unrelated software bug. Then my ultrawide lens disappeared from the camera mode entirely. At this point i thought maybe the guy screwed up the lens while replacing the screen and talked to him about it but he showed me it was indeed a software issue as the lenses all showed up in the keypad dialer dev test mode. So confused at this point i went back and forth between oos 11 and 12 several times with no fix.
So i took it to oneplus and this time the ultrawide still worked in dev mode but now the macro camera registered a black screen. They told me to work on the phone theyd have to replace my perfectly functional display as it wasn't an official part. (ofcourse)
To get around this ive been using a modded gcam mod for ultrawide and nightmkde and the stock camera app for everything else. I just dont understand if it really is a hardware issue why would gcam still be able to use all the functionality im missing (except for the macro lens, which isnt as important to me as the night mode and ultrawide.)
Gcam is much worse than stock and having to switch between 2 camera apps is obviously not ideal. Id greatly appreciate some help troubleshooting this, because no way im paying oneplus about half of what i paid for the new phone just to fix this (display+camera module+labor)
