Screen Issue - Blue Shift is VERY REAL if you are unlucky!! - Google Pixel 2 XL Questions & Answers

I happened to have access to another Pixel 2 XL the past several days and was shocked to see the big difference between screens/units if you are unlucky. I am one of those who initially thought people make the blue shift issue too big of a deal (because my unit was great, minimum shift). I was so wrong if you happened to own an extreme blue shift unit. I am sharing these details and photos for informational purposes and hope it helps those unlucky one to get a replacement or make a decision.
My comparison photos are not scientific. My unit also has a slim case when I took the photos but the blue shift is very real. I also swapped the position of phones between photos to make sure it is not the lighting, make sure both phones have the same Adaptive Brightness On & Off and both phones are at the same Brightness %.
The manufacture date for both units (LG's IMEI site) - The unit with the extreme blue shift (Oct 10) is made one day after my unit (Oct 9). Looks like it is a screen lottery game with the Pixel 2 XL...

You should send these to Google and ask them which one is normal, the spin they gave last week isn't gonna cut it

Will they send a replacement if there's a blue shift? I have zero burn-in but can really see the blue shift at slight tilting angles.
I thought they said the blue screen at different angles is normal

When they increased the warranty I figured this would be what I do and placed a new order (I had cancelled my previous one). I'm willing now to gamble that I get a good one. If it's like the image's non-blue one, I'm good. If not it goes back right away and I'll get another one, if that one is NG then I'm done until I read that they've fixed it.

Mine also has Oct 10 manufacturing date and looks just like the one you borrowed. I didn't realize there are Pixel 2 XL without the blue tint until I saw your photos.
I'm seriously considering to RMA mine since I know that not all 2XL have the blue tint.
How do I start the RMA with Google? Is there a web site I can do it or do I need to call them?

I've added a lot of overhead, and 45-degree pics of the 2 Xl with my 6P, HERE for comparison here to give those worried about the blue tint issue some additional perspective.

There is no perspective, some have it some don't. You can rave about how good your screen is, that doesn't mean the next person's is. Some are blue some are not. I've seen both. If your screen isn't blue, cool but don't tell someone else theirs isn't , cause you don't know. Definitely a huge QC issue

For those that have been successful with getting an RMA for the blue tint did you get a unit that doesn't have it? What do we do if we get an RMA that has the blue tint also (of which we can check as soon as we get it out of the box)? Do we RMA the RMA? How does that process even work? lol

On second thought, everything else is perfect with mine. If I RMA, I might get one without the blue tint, but with other more annoying issues such as burn-in.
RMA until everything is perfect?

I didn't 'tell' anyone anything other than I posted some comparison pics for additional perspective.
It's called perspective because everyone's is unique to their taste.
If you see no value in comparison pics, don't use them. Others appreciate the additional perspective :good:

No , it's good you posted pics so people can see what a good screen is supposed to look like. Mine is so bogus even colors beside white shift on angles. Horrible. But I know good screens are out there. Still we both have a different screen, my perspective means nothing to someone with a good screen. I just keep seeing people post that the blue screen isn't a issue. And if course it's not if you don't have one. Not meant to be personal

Tell them and quote google said "blue shift only visible at sharp angles" and tell them your display is blue at shallow angles almost straight on. BIG DIFFERENCE.

I was unable to rma my phone for the blue display - the cs rep told me it was functioning as intended. I told him I was going to return it so he emailed me the label and I packed it up and ordered another unit. It shipped right away, maybe 1 or 2 days. He asked for a pic which I didn't have and didn't feel like taking since it was late and I had a very early day coming up. i don't think it would have mattered.

Defects to watch out for

Mail ordered my nexus and wanted to know what defects to look out for that would warrant a return for another. (also, anyone know if replacements are refurbs? I refuse to shell out $300 for a refurb!)
My Watchlist so far:
Display tinting red, green, or blue in sections
Overwashed "linen yellow" whites
Speaker issues
Battery "awake time" bug
These seem to be specific to a "bad" device and would like to know other issues that mean I got a bum unit that should be returned...

Hmm, why do you say? These issues are not consistent across all units. Some have reported not having these issues, so it seems to vary unit to unit.
Some of those issues are user tolerance too.

I can say from personal experience that I've experienced all of those except for the battery bug. I've been through three phones so far, and all of them had different issues. My first phone had really bad screen banding, which is inherent to SAMOLED screens, but some are worse than others...and mine was the worst of all the phones I compared it to. The store agreed to replace it, but the next one I got had severe static over just the earpiece speaker. The store once again agreed to swap it out, and now the one I have has a ridiculous amount of red throughout the screen. At lower screen brightness (50% or less) anything that is supposed to be grey is completely purple (menus, widgets, etc). I've been told by a Verizon rep that this is something that will be fixed by a software update in the future, and is a known issue...but I think he was making it up to get me out of the store (please note that this was a different store than I had been dealing with from the start). The phone is completely awesome...as long as it's not broken!
Must have lucked out... Got mine at Best Buy on the 15th and have had NONE of the issues... Whites are white... no blue tint... After a few charges the battery has been fine... Right now my Nexus has been on for about 5 hours with light use and I'm at 88%. If i had the awake time bug it would be much lower...
Like i said, i lucked out. So for anyone with these bugs, replace it. These bugs are NOT on all units.

I am happy with my whites, but they are far from white. When I first was checking out my nexus, I thought to myself, wow the whites look really good. Then, I compare my Nexus S with SLCD, Nexus S with AMOLED, and my GN. The Nexus S with the SLCD, whites are insane, almost pure white.
My first one had issues where the touch screen was totally unresponsive after coming out of sleep. Swapped it at the store the next day, and this new one has absolutely no issues. Connectivity is great, colors are great, battery is great (Extenged battery, been off charger for 4 hours, sufed a bit, a couple of texts, and quite a few phone calls, and I'm still above 80% for battery)... I love the phone.
The guy next to me in the office though -- He's on his second one, and is getting dropped calls, dropped connections, and it's overheating to the point of making his face uncomfortable on the phone... he's going back tonight for another one. his first one wouldn't connect to 3g or 4g, and they couldn't fix it in the store.
Just use the phone like normal. If you have to seek out a "defect", then it isn't a defect. Just use the phone and enjoy it.
are these issues for only the verizon version or the GSM as well because I am debating on shipping a GSM one but I'm iffy about it because I dont want to get a defective one and wont be able to replace it or have to wait another week to get a new one.

I haven't heard of the issues on the GSM version. I'm sure the screen issues can be on all versions but have heard nothing on the other problems. I have an imported GSM version with 0 problems (besides still being on 4.0.1!)

I had 2 with bars going down the display, easy way to tell is have all white or dark grey on the screen.
I have also noticed on my current device that if I put up an all black image, I have spots around the screen where there is darker black, almost like the glue on the screen or something.
Here is a new one, when the phone us vibrating something sound a like it is loose inside the phone ..not many reports of this one tho only seen 2 so far not including mine

HTC OneV -2 month experience (The good, bad and ugly)

Hi guys,
This is my first post. HTC one V is the first smartphone that I owned. I got it through a relative from Malaysia in April and to tell the truth I was hooked.
The Good: Excellent looks and finish and a brilliant display was things that are a bargain at this price range. Combine that with a fluid interface, excellent battery life for a smartphone (i got about 36hrs once) and tethering support it was real good.
The Bad: But as everything else out there there are the lows. First is the camera- everything is good except for the image quality. Looking at the images on the phone screen can be deceiving (display is that good). On a larger computer screen or print the images look just average. The colors look artificial and may often look over softened (clear once you zoom the image). Samsung galaxy ace and sony xperia mini series (both have 5MP cameras) are miles ahead in image quality. Sound quality is good but not the best. Placement of charger port was also odd. Except for the camera other things can be forgiven including the non-existent Compass !
Ugly: Now to the hardest part - complaints. First time i switched on the phone I noticed yellow patches on display on the left side bottom and top corners. Clearly visible on startup screen, browser, documents, ebooks etc., (white and grey backrounds). I was thinking whether to send it back to malaysia to claim guarantee and then decided against it for two reasons -
1. patches is not an issue in other screens (except for the plain backround) and can be ignored as it is in the corners (it did not go away even after a months use as some claimed).
2. I was in absolute love with the phone and just could not think of not having it for more than a month if it has to go to malaysia and then come back :silly:
Then last week I was traveling. watched a video clip, listened to some songs attended two calls and then put the mobile in my pocket (more than 40% charge remaining). After about 45mins when I took it out and the phone was simply dead. Nothing could make it switch on. Now I have sent it back to Malaysia with my relative. I really don't know whether they will repair it or replace and when I am going to get it.
So that's the story. I hope I get a good unit back
Are yo sure you talking about the same phone! lol
i've had mine for2 months and quite frankly, it rocks
camera is awesome, and very clear pictures when i transfer to pc.
have friends with differents htc's ranging from the one to sensation and they all envy my new phone.
Im Loving it!
I'm Lovin' it
Hi japodude,
Loving the phone doesn't make the image better and yes I am talking about the same phone. I agree that the image is very clear, unfortunately there is a difference between clarity and quality.
I never said camera is bad but the quality of image definitely is not up to the mark and may be due to optimizations by the camera software. Look at bright portraits with contrasting colors and you will see colors getting a washed-out look. It just could have been better. You may not see this in landscapes. Or may be I got a bad piece of camera in my set.
But I do agree on one count. The phone is awesome
ive used a spectromitor to calibrate monitor colours to match my phone colour. the real test would be to print one picture and see.
my previous phone is nokia x6,,also 5mp,,i compared camera picture of these 2 phones and i must say my x6's camera is far better than one v
and im facing problems of heating..gaming makes this phone really hot..and i got one time experience of after gaming for 15 mins,, phone got hot,, i leave it for 2 hours,, when i picked it up its still hot,, i put it in the floor to absorb cold and then it cools..
but overall im satisfied with my 1st android phone..the price,, looks and performance
Hi alborotz,
Nokia traditionally is good with camera (hardware). Remember the N-series, and now the N8 and pureview, something that HTC will take a long time to achieve. Check out the blind test on gsmarena comparing pureview to a number of phone cameras and even olympus. It is not a surprise for me that HTC One X came last (actually zero votes!!!).
One V is not much of a gamer, I believe, but a good all-rounder. i am sure you must have admired the display when playing some of those (Temple Run, Angry Birds, Raging thunder). Things just look so ONEderful. I checked out a colleague's galaxy SII. Though AMOLED, it had a heavy bluish tinge, almost like looking through a blue filter. Comparing both these side by side, One V was better in clarity and SII better with the contrast (Not bad for a phone in this range!!) Heating must be due to the aluminium body which conducts heat better than the plastics out there. May be its good for the phone internals (i am guessing here!!).
I am just wondering when I will get my phone back -whether it will be a replacement or repair. just itching to get it back
Thanks guys
I like my One V. Is small, handy, has crisp and good sound, also screen is visible in direct sunlight (now we have african temperatures over 30 C, here in Poland). And the phone is much lighter than Evo 3D, which I had earlier.
I love this phone. Very good first android/starter phone for anyone thinking about that.
I got my phone- and a new one
Hi guys,
To conclude, I finally got my phone back and yes its a new one too. This time no trace of yellow spots... Back to days of android on my ONEderful V :highfive:

I did consider that angle. The position was not suitable for that to happen. I put the phone in my front left jeans pocket, the chin was down and screen facing away from me. In that position both keys (volume and power) comes towards my left with power key to the open part of jeans and volume key away from outside thigh. So, that's pretty much a far stretched possibility. But then as one Mr. Holmes said "when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth".
And now the replacement unit is too good. No trace of anything yellow. And boy I am happy..except that I have to buy a screenguard again

bezbeV,
How long did it take to get your phone back from HTC?
I have a problem with my camera where yellow specs/dots show up on pictures on white backgrounds. I have only seen one other post about this issue on another forum.
I contacted HTC and they said to perform a soft reset and if that didn't work, a factory reset. Both did nothing. My next option is to contact their warranty and repair specialists. Just wondering if its worth it.
Thanks.

Well, it actually took quite a long time, almost 2+ months, but then again it may depend on the country/region you are in. But do read my previous post - I did not give the phone for repair just because it had yellow spots, but it was DEAD. So I did not have a choice.
Next is your second point. HTC is bluffing. The yellow spot is a "manufacturing defect on the LCD screen" which will not go away with any soft or hard reset. Don't waste your time on this, but do make backups. If you purchased the phone recently, DEMAND a replacement immediately from HTC. Check the phone on the spot for any spots before accepting the new piece.
I believe that it is worth to get a replacement even if it takes a month than to live with the thought that what you purchased with your hard earned money which is supposed to be 'quality-checked' before delivery is a defective piece. You certainly did not get it from a factory-seconds store or discount sale. Why should you carry a defective piece?
Regards

Hi, am actually from India and I got the phone through a relative in Malaysia. I am sorry but cannot help you with the best price place. But as far as yellow spots go, i too heard that phones after april has come rectified. So prefer a set which is manufactured after april by checking serial number on the pack.it will be in the format AANNAAANNNN (N-number, A-alphabet). Prefer something that starts with SH over HT and 'N' at 4th place supposedly give you the manufacturing month (look for a value 5 and above here!). Once you have purchased it, open the set in front of them and check for any yellow spots (visible on white and grey backgrounds). If so return the piece immediately. You are eligible for a replacement then.
Do let us know once you get it.. best wishes
This happens with me a lot!

You probably canceled your order for nothing. That video is about the Pixel 2 and not the Pixel 2 XL.
If you had done some research you'd see that the place where it snaps is where the antenna bands are on the Pixel 2, the Pixel 2 XL doesn't have it's antenna bands in the same place so it won't snap/bend.
Had a 6P and my phone never bent under every circumstances I gave it.
Pixel 2 XL could be different then the Pixel 2...

The G6 was released in March so it's only been out around 6 months and he orders an XL 2? I guess anything is possible but the naysayers and trolls are invading like a Halloween mashup.
All in all I think the phone did pretty well in that silly test. What kind of water resistance does it have? I mean can you drop it into a bucket.. err toilet and pull it out and it not get damaged?
That isn't the 2XL. Plus JRE applies an obscene amount of force to the phones he tests.

Or just don't try to break your phone in half. Or put in in your back pocket and sit on it (seriously, who does that??). Or try to cut it in half with a utility box cutter. These tests are so far removed from "real world" scenarios it is lunacy to base your device choice on them. He also called the Nexus 6P "a joke" and from a hardware perspective my 6P looks as good today as the day it was bought.
Seriously, re-order your Pixel 2, enjoy it when it arrives and ignore the pointless tests in that video.
Lol the paranoia going around in these forums about all these "issues" . Unreal

It's paranoia man. People seems to have a bit extra here one the Google pixel forums. Funny enough I went to a theme park where one of the rides applied a crazy amount of pressure to my lap where my phone was. The lap bar literally landed on top of my phone and was on it throughout the whole ride. Would you guess what happened? Absolutely nothing.

fyi I posted a yt video of p2xl water testing.
Believe it was the iFixit teardown where they showed the 2 XL has a magnesium core (aka strong) where its cousin the LG G6 had a plastic core. Seems OP may have gone the wrong direction...
I feel like I lost some iq points watching that. Scratching paint off with a utility knife is not a durability test. I'd never expect a phone to tolerate that.
Boring video.... I'll be partying with my badboy XL 2! Cheers ?????
Magnesium is stronger than aluminum and titanium. I think we're good

Burn-in dilemma

Just picked up a refurb XL and, predictably, the navbar burn-in is fairly significant. I assume this is true for the vast majority of XLs out there in the wild that have been used for any length of time.
A couple questions:
1. I believe either the 8.0 or 8.1 update introduced some kind of alternating colors for the navbar to mitigate burn-in? If this is true, is it really the period that XLs were on 7.x when most of the burn-in happened -- meaning if you got a pristine screen now and started off with 8.x right away, you'd be in the clear, meaning normal usage won't ever result in significant navbar burn-in?
2. Is there any hope of RMAing to Google for burn-in if you bought it secondhand? Is there an easy way to check whether it was originally purchased from the Goog Store vs. elsewhere?
I think you are vastly over estimating how many pixels have burn in. Significant burn in simply is not caused by normal use... Maybe it was a display phone or something.

Even for the persistent on screen buttons? It only makes sense that those will burn in over a long period of normal use, at least without special software tricks.
Mine has moderate burn-in where the navbar is when I view fullscreen videos, but none visible anywhere else on the screen. I found a few older threads here where many people report the same issue, in some cases after only weeks of normal use.
Mine is a 2016 pixel with no burn in. I've seen a couple old posts about it but nothing suggesting every pixel has extreme burn in issues.
Mine doesn't have it either, I don't think it's normal unless you sit your phone down for hours with the same thing on the screen. These phones are built to withstand normal and even heavy use.
Had mine just over a year and have burn in on the Nav bar only slightly but noticed on a clean img only used this devices for normal use don't leave the display on that much never for like 15+ mins at a time only devices with amoled I've had burn in

Not at all. I had a Pixel XL bought in December 2016 - I had to RMA due to burn in issues, I had a new one sent out to me in June 2017 and the screen has burned in on that - i've had to live with this. I'm a moderate user, I usually watch a lot of twitch streams which immerses the display.
I believe Google has seen the numbers of the screen burn on both Pixel phones and made a software change with gestures in Android 9.0 - this in itself is bad for anyone who has it because we're now going to see the burn in even more in my opinion.
It's a fundamental flaw with Pixel devices - the average user probably isn't even aware that they have it, but it's definitely an issue.
Try to contact with them via chat which is integrated with pixel device!
I said them that I bough the device used without receipt and they offered me a replacement solution l..
They was gonna replace my device with new one because of WiFi problem but apparently I live in Cyprus and they can not cover me under warranty because there is not an authorised google service center (there is an HTC one but no luck either) so I did DIY by adding some plastic cards and now it’s working just fine!)
Status bar burn in here. I think it's unavoidable.

I tried this, but as I have a crack on the back glass, it is going to charge me an excess fee - if I claim on my insurance over here it's a £100 excess and guaranteed either a new phone or cash equivalent in 48hrs . So beware if you have any damage other than the screen burn they'll claim it voids the warranty even if it's unrelated to the burn in issues.

Tried chat but they said the warranty expired late last year, so no luck.
Looks to me like it's almost impossible to get a new XL these days, and almost all used ones are going to have the burn in. What a shame that they produced relatively few units for how many people wanted this device, creating short supply and an awful market for late adopters looking for a deal. I'm not interested in the 2 XL unless it gets down to around half its current cost -- too many compromises with the display, no headphone, etc. to justify $700+ for me.
Me too

I am in your shoes too (a bit)...Bought a refurbed Pixel XL last week from Amazon..Have fairly faint, but existent navbar burn in...I have e-mailed the seller on Amazon and they asked for pictures, but even if I get a replacement phone, will that have burn-in also?
Google chat yielded no results as they wouldn't give me any warranty info since I'm not the original buyer.
I am super picky about this kind of stuff, and my Nexus 6 and moto 360 tormented me with burn-in, but I got this phone for like $225...I might just try to forget about it, and enjoy the life I get from it.

Yep, also got mine from the Amazon refurb listing. I'd be fine with it for the price if not for this stupid burn in thing. I'm trying to get over it, but seems like it's going to be a real factor for things like fullscreen video/movies, VR, etc. And to make it worse, with Goog pushing toward gesture navigation in Android P, the navbar will no longer have the same outline... we may be seeing the burn in constantly instead of just in those full screen situations.

I think after demoing P in Android Studio, gestures are merely optional to turn on, so hopefully, the navbar stays (I think I'd prefer the navbar anyways).... but, I'll let you know what the Amazon seller comes back with. The only time I REALLY see it is during bootup white screen, and specific wallpaper colors
Edit: The seller on Amazon is offering a replacement after photos. Hopefully I can get a phone before I send this one back, and hopefully it won't have burn-in.

chat again with them and tell them that you don't have the receipt and the box. I said to them that I bought it used from someone else and they offered me a replacement if I am able to sent in to a person who lives in the UK and sent it directly to them ..don't listen only one agent try 2-3 times until they offer you the best solution they can ....since I wasn't able to get the offer since I am in Cyprus and I am 16 years old I did DIY and fixed my wifi problem myself
PS. have burned in on navbar but it's not a big deal since isn't too much noticeable!
and the best thing for me I love stock android and fast updates but where I live all people are using Samsung and iPhone (my friends saying that I am crazy because of that:crying::laugh
anyway, good luck!
So as an update, they said they'd replace my phone, but I had to send into them, then they'd send me a new one. I'm not going 10 days without a phone, so I am sending this one back, and just ordered another one. Hopefully, my new one won't have burn-in also.

screen burn in...

Hello guys, been fan of the google phones since nexus 5 and didn't have a chance to get one because there is no google store or any store with officially support to sell pixel phones. So i decided to get used one for 155 bucks... And i am disappointed, can't believe that guy that sold me this device didn't noticed screen burn in.. of course he will not accept refound, and on pictures from online store where i found this one it was impossible to notice that... My question is, is it worth to buy a new screen sice they are really expensive and it is difficult to replace it.. or use this phone just like it is till i decide to buy a new one... Any advice will be appreciated..
Beside this screen problem, i think pixel 2xl is great device, and man, i missed that stock android experience...it flies even it is almost 3 years old...
Edit: and screen burn in doesn't bother me so much, but this yellowish screen is really noticable... Screen image is like i have constantly night mode enabled...
And what can cause this defections of screen in this device...if it will come again with the new one it is definitely not worth to replace the screen..

Sorry for your bad luck, man.
I had bought a Pixel 2 XL back in February and recently dropped it, shattering the top of the screen. I thought about replacing the screen, but, since a screen replacement would cost just as much as another phone, I went ahead and found another one on eBay. The only complaint I have about the replacement I got is that it seems the battery has degraded more than the original one; 75% on the replacement and 95% on the original. I'm sure I'll have to replace the battery at some point.
The screen doesn't seem too difficult to replace though it does look like there are some sensitive spots you have to watch out for when disassembling.
If it's an option, I would bring it somewhere to get repaired, like Ubreakifix.

Thanks for your answer...
I see that price for pixel 2 screen is almost half a price of 2xl screen, so one more bad luck i think.. and in my country, repair shops are sh..t.. they don't repair phones that are not popular here, and google devices for sure are not..and if they do repair, they don't take responsibility if they damaging something else..
On eBay, as you said, price for the screen is almost a price of the another phone..
And didn't know that model from 2017 have this screen burn in problems... If i knew that, surely i would be more careful with buying... Bro i was really happy to get a Pixel device
So i think best option is to wait for some cheap pixel 2xl screen or device with broken motherboard and replace it myself... Have some experience, replaced screen on htc m8 (never again) and replaced battery on htc u11, it was pretty easy...
I have the same burn in like yours but i get used to it actually also to mention i use fullscreen gestures rather than navbar buttons, recently i found an app called display tester it has a mode called black & white bars i played it for lile 15 mins & it reduced the burn in effect for some time, give it a try
Burn in h putt to be more precise burn out) is normal.
I bothered Google so hard that they send me a me one and forgot to asked the plants one to be returned.
Anyway, I'm using the one and my father the other one, no problem.
I'm using gestures and pimped them with gestureplus (play store)
The display is always a bit yellowish and overall too dark.
My mother has an old Pixel (first gen), which was manufactured by htc, and that one has a brilliant Samsung display

This is a problem with all the Pixel 2 XL and every other phone that has OLED screen. Some get it worse then others. And since Google used lower quality screens its more prominent on them.
But i had burn in on my Galaxy S3 my Nexus 6p and my Pixel 2 XL (2 of them)
I worked for ATT Wireless and Verizon Wireless for about 6 years and saw it on so many phones. from Samsung LG Google etc.

This was an issue with the Pixel 2's from day 1.
Reporters and bloggers were tweeting they were having problems on launch day. It made google give out 2 year warranties on them in the beginning.
Google has always had an issue with screens all the way back to the Nexus 5. Esp when the phone is made by LG

Yep I did, but didn't know the extent. Took a big chance. Totally worth 99 bucks. Most of them "refurbished" therefore not rootable, are going for about 200+ still.
Darkmode and you can't see the burn in; "light mode" barely can see it. It's a verizon variant and ready to roll. I use Google FI and it, out of the box...was seamless to use with that service. The outside, chassis? MINT. Mint I say. Not even a micro scratch to be seen. It's almost like, judging by what the burn it says...it was a display unit in a small shop that never got actually touched by a finger.
Now that I think about it, there is no evidence it's a verizon variant. When I turned it on no verizon anything...no preinstalled VZW app, nothing. I updated it to 10, updated all apps on wifi, never asked for any VZW account or anything. Downloaded the FI app...and boom...esim was up and activated. Maybe the ebay seller thought it was a VZW one? I know Google made it pretty much in an unbranded state on VZW? Confirm anyone? lol anyway LOVE IT, until the 4a eventually comes out, then I'll get that.
UPDATE: yep a VZW variant...in dev options "allow OEM unlock" is greyed out. No biggie, no need for root imho with stock pixel experience. ADB sideloaded "11 Preview 4" and went smooth. It's nice.
