I believe it is under "Sound" settings.
And it is the last option in that settings.
Yep it sure is. Settings -> Sound -> Advanced -> Now Playing
Thanks but that only shows songs playing around you not songs played by phone
Yeah, I was curious about this as well. If they play a snippet of a song on a podcast I'm listening to on phone, will that show up?

Current songs show up in the notification center. Is that what you are referring to? If so, that was default behavior for me. I didn't have to enable anything I don't think.

Hmmm...tried to add screenshot but I guess new forum members can't do that? Anyway, I see currently playing tunes showing up there. Even podcasts from the Pocketcast app will show up there as well.
I think he may want currently playing song information on the "always on display" vs just the lock screen. On my device I see the Google play music icon on the AoD but I do not see the currently playing song information. I've done some digging and I'm unsure if we can enable what OP is asking for, though that sounds like a really handy feature to have.

Ah yes...I think it's important to distinguish between "Always on" and "Lock screen"...I didn't think about that. I think you're intuition is correct.

I know there are still some of us that use Google Music here, and since this is my first time with it and the EQ settings, I was wondering if anyone got any recommendations for settings that get them the best sounds, in their opinion?

It all depends on what audio output you're using. Built in speaker, headphones, earphones or external speaker? To be completely honest, EQ's are a very personal preference. What sounds good to my ears might not sound good to yours. Go with what you think sounds good
i start my out on flat and if a song doesn't like it should or how the artist wanted it to sound (do to the speakers) i will adjust the EQ accordingly until it sounds good.

I would not like this EQ setting. Too much mid bass and not enough low end for me, and I like me some treble. I prefer a Checkmark curve
How do you get to this equalizer? Thanks

It's built into the Google Music app. Just go to settings > EQ

This is the best way. Also to, sometimes to "fool" you ears to think there's more bass without distorting your speakers, you can turn the gain down a bit and raise the bass. Now this will lie the volume output, but it's all a give and take.
Other things to consider is the volume you must put your phone at as you'll be using the headphone jack and not a dedicated line out. Also too, the settings of the stereo you're plugging the point into. I'd suggest that you put the eq of the stereo to flat as well to start.
Good luck!

Hi All,
We have recently released a new tablet friendly android app to stream videos and music directly from PC to your Android device.
The app supports HTTP Live streaming and can live transcode pretty much all the video formats. Let us know your feedback.
The apk is attached. Let us know your feedback.

Let us know your feedback. we have not tested with custom ROMs. If you are running Tonido already uninstall your old one and install the attached apk or get it from the google play store.
The streaming quality is very impressive! I played a 1080p mkv with my nexus 7 tethered to my S3. The only slight issue I am having is that the video pauses whenever I get a popup notification, and when I start it again it jumps forward a couple of minutes in the video. Is there any way to give an option to let the video continue to play notifications come through?

Thanks for the feedback. I have personally not thought about the usecase. We will see what we can do. How about music streaming? Is it working well for you?

Music streaming is working great. Playback is pretty much instant, and the sound quality is awesome. Music does not seem to be affected by incoming popup notifications. It continues to play while the notifications come through.

Thanks for ur feedback. Would you like indexing of music files?
hey. i always needed an app or mod thats allow us change the track from volume change pop up. eg, when im playing game and wanted to change the current music track, i should go home or recent apps, change the track then go back to game.
so im asking is there any mod or app, that can let us to change the track through the volume change dialog without leaving the game. something like another row under the volume slider that has buttons next/pause/previous etc.
i know paranoidandroid does it with halo, im asking another solution.. thanks.
Some ROMs have the ability to do this, when you press the volume button the normal slider pops up for whatever is relevant (ringer, media, or alarm). But there is a settings button that expands it.
E2A : Feeling lazy didn't want to take screenshot, so I found this one via google.

Just got this device and when it sits for a while it begins plays music in the background...puts you in mind of being at a Spa...has water sounds to it. It is the same sound just looping over and over.
I have looked at every setting and options and I cannot find the sound source at all. Does not do it all the time but I cannot track where this sound comes from when device sits for a while...
Sounds crazy but anyone have this experience on new 4.4.2 device?
Do you have an alarm set?

Since you just got this device I take it you're not rooted. Otherwise you could install App Ops via xposed installer and go to Media and control what apps are using Media function of your device (Screenshot is from my Nexus 4 but its the same for the Note, I was too lazy to go get it )
Are you sure there's no alarm apps, or maybe live wallpapers? Or maybe if you side loaded an apk then maybe it could be that. I'm just pulling at straws.
Post a list of installed user apps and I'll take a look and see if anything seems out of the ordinary :good:

Yeah, you should see it running under media and then you can just block access.
The same applies to the other heart app you were taking about. You can also block notifications in App Ops. There's also another way to do this. Go to settings-apps, select the Heart one and press the 'show notifications button'

ok this is something totaly different. Maybe you have too high volume or something? using bluetooth or any other hearing devices? I have no idea what the hell that is lol. Has to do something with sounds. One thing we can try for you is to go to settings - accessibility and see if you have any services installed, and play with settings there. My guess is that it has something to do with options for people with special needs
