Thanks have you had any Motor phones to compare it to. Got one coming this week just curious as I am in a poor signal area and Moto seems to work the best.

My Pixel 2 XL "seems" worse than my Pixel XL. No technical testing done. My office is in a downtown setting with known dead/weak spots, but they subjectively seem worse. Games such as Ingress and Pokemon Go are having more data problems than usual in areas that aren't usually an issue. YMMV
My XL 2 seems to be much better than my original XL. I get on average 1-2 bars better signal in the same places.
Ok maybe to answer my own question. I got my 2xl yesterday I'm in a poor signal area. Test ran it today seems good. Maybe just s tad slower to grab on but not a
deal breaker by any means. I think she's a keeper. I'll post more on my testing tomorrow.

If you had to buy a phone again would you still get the pixel xl ?
Thanks
Yes

I'd buy 2 if I could. When you get on XDA youll always see the flood of problems more so then people saying g how great any device is.
Now with Reddit, it's more prevalent to see the complaints
Great phone. Coming from note 7. Glad my note 7 was recalled, love this phone. Super fast, no lag.

I liked all of the customization of the stock OS. I liked that I could use capacitive navigation buttons or on screen buttons. The design of the OnePlus 3 is beautiful to me also. It just gave me more joy while using and it. The Pixel is fast and the screen is better but that's about it, imo.

Ditto. The speed and battery outweighs the stuff that it's missing (water resistant, speaker, microsdcard).
Absolutely.
Definitely.

For your money you will get a snappy phone that's comfortable to hold (the chin has a purpose) , looks great, the software is the best out there. It is Google at its very best. Also the camera is the best on a phone and the addition of unlimited storage means constant photos and 4k video!
The battery life is very solid and the phone does not crash, slow down or do anything peculiar. The screen is also very nice and updates are provided as soon as they are available.
No other phone offers this same package. Also Chinese phones are snooping on us!
Huge oneplus 3 fan here chiming in. Do I miss my OP3, yes. What I don't miss is how buggy the software could be. I miss the size and I honestly think the camera was a bit better (not impressed with the pixel camera, seems very grainy) but the big thing is the software. This phone if flawless. I might consider dropping down to a pixel and ditch the XL.
I'd absolutely buy the Pixel XL again, no questions asked.
Absolutely! This is the best phone I have ever had.
I also have the oneplus 3.
Thanks for all your input guys much appreciated

Yes I forgot about the battery, when you dont have to charge it thru the day. My note 7 had horrible battery life. The Pixel XL will go 18 hours for me and I am using it all day long. Awesomeness.

I never could bring myself to get a 6P or Pixel. I feel like I have been waiting all this time, JUST for this phone! I hope it won't disappoint.
What do you all think?
I'm with you. Upgrading from my N6 too. Was going to get the Pixel XL last year but couldn't pull the trigger at that price with those bezels, no waterproofing, etc.
me too (i spend all my saving for this year )
i order my pixel 2 xl 64 black
to replace my n6 64g
running Oreo (crDroid V4)
no, i did that also
I had fun with the Nexus6p and Pixel XL between the Nexus6 and the Pixel XL 2...
Same here... Upgrading my Nexus 6 to the Pixel 2 XL. Never got a 6P or Pixel.

Same here, for all the same reasons. N6 is starting to slow down and battery isn't as good as it once was. It lasted longer than any other phone I've ever had though
I'm upgrading from Nexus 6.
I am getting Pixel XL 2 128 GB and I plan on using it up to the last security update (3 years)

I'm getting a P2XL, but I feel like I'm still waiting for the perfect phone. If I didnt have to get stuck with TouchWiz I would say the S8+ would be it.
Went from galaxy nexus to nexus 5 to nexus 6 then to 6P then skipped the first pixel. So i also has high hopes for this year
But I learned with my 6P that 128gb of storage isnt quite going to cut it so very disappointed the XL 2 doesnt have a 256gb option.
But other than that it ticks all the boxes and then some for me....in still debating it lol.

You'll probably get it knowing your track record!
Currently have the Nexus 6 and upgrading to the Pixel 2 xl. It was between that or the v30. Want a phone with good development don't know if the v30 will have an unlockable bootloader maybe only the unlocked version. The nexus 6 has been so good to me that haven't had a reason to upgrade. Its still kind of difficult to let it go since the phone works perfect. Maybe the battery has a little less capacity. Other than that, Shamu will be missed.

I went from Nexus 5 to The original Pixel xl. Was looking hard at the Nexus 6P. Now the new Pixel 2 XL.
I just put my Nexus 6 up for sale. It was my daily driver for 2+ years. It had every ROM known to man at one time. I got an XL nut the screen was not big enough for me. The N6 spoiled me.
I'm daily driving a Note 8 right now but I'm looking forward to the 2 XL.
Hehe.. yeah i had the orig xl verizon version.. depixled when i got it...bit had to rma.. received 7.1.1 on replacement.. put it on swappa same day.. went back to my tried and true N6... I just hope the 2 xl stacks up to this phone on quality and dev support

I tried the pixel and had charging problems so I returned it like the phone though. Just ordered the xl2. If there are any kind of problems with this phone illl return it and go back to a iphone. As frustrating as iPhones are to use I'll at least have something that works properly
I'm coming from a N6 too... Though not because I didn't wanna upgrade sooner!
Yes, I'm upgrading from a Nexus 6 to a Pixel 2 XL. Haven't decided which color to get thought.
Great to see a lot of Nexus6 and Nexus6p owners onboard for this exciting Pixel XL 2! Rock on
I am currently using the nexus 6p, without issue. Thinking of purchasing the unlocked Pixel 2 XL from google. I am on AT&T. Is it worth while to purchase the pixel 2 xl?

Yes
You should be able to get some discounts now. Also, many 6P former users are already here!

Yes.
I've had a L - O - T of phones including Moto, HTC, Apple, Samsung, & LG; and the P 2 XL is far and above the best all-around one ever owned.
Just does everything right. Ambient display is a sleeper hit.
came from 6p-oneplus 3t to pixel 2xl. Worth it!
Another 6P owner here, can't speak to anything AT&T since I'm on Verizon (unlocked of course), but the device itself is MORE than worth the switch! Even without a cust rom at the moment!
Just be sure to get the UNLOCKED version! Same price, and if you NEVER unlock it, so what. But if you decide to in a few months, you'll have that option.
Just dew eeet!!
I'm coming from a Nexus 5x and while there are some bugs with the pixel 2 XL I'm confident we will continue to see fixes for them roll out. Once custom ROMs get rolling it'll get even better. In my opinion the negative reviews and small issues with this device are coming from sticklers who think for about 800 bucks everything should be completely perfect; while I understand and sympathize with these people, I think when you compare the pixel 2 XL to other flagships honestly and relatively, it comes out on top if you like a snappy system with plenty of storage, an awesome camera and one of the longest lasting stock batteries of any phone (that I've ever owned). TLR you can always find something wrong if you look hard enough.
Had the 5x and 6p, then the OG Pixel, and now the 2 XL. It's definitely worth the upgrade from the 6p. You'll find the phone is much snappier, the camera is downright impressive, and the overall experience is miles better than the 6P.

Also coming from the Nexus 6,p and yes the new Pixel 2 rocks! Nexus 6p is still very good device but the pixel 2 xl is better. Plus google is giving 2 year warranty, and at least 3 years for updates!

Coming from the Galaxy line of phones, with the note 9 being my last, I find no issues with reception or calls. No better or worse. I live on a fringe area and I lock on to LTE, although I get barely 1meg download at home. On a good signal area, download speeds of 25 to 50 megs is about what I get. I'm on an att mvno (red pocket), so no hd voice or wifi calling. But standard voice calls are ok.
On T-Mobile, I've actually seen nearly identical or even better download speeds vs my OnePlus 6T, which is surprising considering the power from the 6T.
I'm really stuck between both phones. I've always LOVED any OnePlus device I've owned. While I've used pixel devices before, this is the first one I've actively owned and used consistently, and I'm actually loving it. My OnePlus fanboy side is telling me not to give in... But I'm becoming a bigger pixel fan every second I'm using it
I just passed on my 6T today, I had held onto it in case remorse set in but that hasn't happened. I went from Tmo on the 6T to Fi on this phone and for whatever reason get faster speeds on this phone even though in theory I'm on the Tmo network. Go figure on that one, only thing I've got is that my 6T was the unlocked variant, could be a factor...
I was getting too many dropped calls.
Not just in my house, but all over.
Very disappointing.
I returned my 3a XL for this and a few other reasons.

Could be his provider, location, etc. One data point doesn't mean much unless of course your the data point with connectivity troubles. I don't have any problems with anything. Phone has been flawless in that respect. Just wish it was a little speedier...

I think this phone is awesome for the price. I sold my note 9 for a better camera and timely updates, and don't regret it one bit. But I do have some issues with the bluetooth behavior. When I turn on any previously paired speaker, the phone automatically assumes I want it to connect to it. This is annoying because every time I turn on the TV, the Pixel redirects sound output to it's sound bar. Also, when I connect to bluetooth speakers, music starts playing and then cuts off, and I have to redirect sound to the phone, then back again to the bluetooth speaker for audio to work. The second issue seems to be fixed on Q, but not the first one. It's just a minor annoyance, and not enough to ditch this phone, but never had this issue with any other phone. Other than that, I love my Pixel.
I know, odd question, but it's important for me.
There is a Note 9 in the family, a OP7 Pro to try, and so on. They all suck at GPS tracking/lock-on compared to my old Note 4 and former Mate 10 Pro.
Notebookcheck praised the Pixel 3a XL's accuracy, so I wonder... is it really that good?
I mean, the OP7 Pro can't even get a lock in buildings, and Maps/Waze will remove your route/tracking altogether cause it has 0 confidence, and happens in a city as well.
Note 9 is the same, although the route stays, it just keeps throwing the car like streets away from the actual position.
Ps.: Moral of the story? Dual-band GPS is nothing more than just a buzzword.

For what it's worth, I've had the 3a XL since launch and only once while using Google maps has it lost GPS signal, and it was in a tunnel, so there was no clear sky.

Thank you! I know it sounds silly to even ask this, since some had luck with their phone purchases and GPS just worked... but on the other hand, I was extremely unlucky. And trust me, there is nothing worse than having no GPS.
