Here is what I did.
Used modified ODIN
flashed all the files for u1 in the proper slots
Did not use Home_CSC home csc files are for modifying existing firmware not flashing to new firmware.
there was no userdata firmware.
and yes I do get updates
Wifi calling also works so does VOLTE
Edit the CSC firmware I am using is TMB
If I update my galaxy S8+ to the latest firmware via Odin what's the consequences after all. Cause I still have the firmware since the launch date (April). Will I be able to get update when they have available after I get the latest firmware via Odin.. Please let me know

yep 100%. as long as everything is U1 you cannot mix basebands or csc or home or anything.
and yes secure folder is there and functions fine
What if i dont flash it to U1 ...Can i just flash the lastest baseband with Odin without any worries?

hi,
I had a t-mobile phone from the netherlands... I flashed the XXUAME2 stock firmware over it and now my wifi and phone app don't work.
wifi just wont turn on... if I press it... it doesn't lit... it is immediatly turned off again... and if I want to call someone or someone tries to call me... the phone app crashes... black screen... can't do anything for 2 minutes...then the phone starts to flip.
is it because of the firmware? should I try flashing a t-mobile firmware for the netherlands?
HEEEELP PLS been this way for 2 days...
thanks!!
I would definitely flash the firmware for your region. Firmware includes the modem and you need the correct one for where you are.

You need to flash the stock modem/radio image file for the wifi and cellular phone to work again.
Here is the link for the CWM/TWRP or ODIN flashable modem/radio which will give you all the
information and download links for the i9500/i9505 modem/radio flashable files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
Just follow the step by step instructions in the link above and make sure you get the proper file for your phone.
Good luck!

It has to be for your specific device. If it's tmob it should be a tmob firmware.

You need to find out your phone's model #, if you have the i9500, i9505 or the M919 handset.
Which ever handset you have you need to flash the same model's modem/radio image.
You flash the one which matches and is intended for your phones model #.
If your phone is a Samsung galaxy s4 i9505 then you need the modem/radio file for i9505/
Good luck!

You do not need the entire firmware from sammobile, all you need is the modem image and flash it.
If you flash the entire sammobile firmware you will have to re root the phone..............

The reason the baseband says XXUAME2 is because you flashed a different firmware ontop of the stock
firmware which came with the phone.........
Again, follow instructions in link below and flash only the modem/radio image for your phone's model #.
(TMOBILE/BELGIUM are NOT a model numbers.)
model numbers are 9500/9505/M919 and so on....... download/flash the proper one for your phone.

Hello,
Is there any way to downgrade from lollipop to kit kat? Im using N910PVPU2BOE1 (I bought the cellphone with this update), I'd see post about it and some people say yes and no.
Can you explain me? Or if is possible to unlock the N910P from Sprint by unlockbox, app or similar. I need the note 4 for international use.
PS: I've another N910P with OB7. Can I do a nand backup or similar and put it n the Note 4 with OE1 ? Maybe something like clone the software
IF u r on OE1 build you cant downgrade to KITKAT .
sorry

so what I did was root using odin installed twrp from the playstore and flashed the twrp recovery from the app. once I had recovery I flashed a stock rom from the forum in twrp. that booted up fine then I hooked my phone into the pc and open kies to see if it reconized my phone and it did so I hit the tools tab at the top of the program and clicked on firmware upgrade and initialization and it stared updating my phone back before the oel update

Hi,
I have an A720F that uses the A720FXXU2AQFA ROM (ZTO). I need to use the old ROM A720FXXU1APLI (ZTO). For Odin it is not possible to downgrade, it gives error.
I can only upgrade to Odin, not to CWM or TRWP.
I need a solution and I can make a donation through Paypal to those who can help me.

I have a sales application that makes bluetooth connection with a card reader and marks the placement. The only version that works is the A720FXXU1APLI, then upgrade, does not work 100%. Sometimes it does not connect to BT and it also stops geolocation. I have little knowledge and every time I try to go back to the original ROM it gives an error, I researched and I saw that the problem is that the version on the phone is bigger than the one on the binary. I only know how to use Odin.
I need to be able to install an older binary on my cell phone, downgrade but odin will not let me.
In short, I need to install an older official stock rom but Odin does not allow it.

Not possible unless you modify the .tar.md5 by removing the .bin files in it, then tar it up and flash in odin.
The secure bootloader (sboot.bin) won't allow the downgrade of itself. Needs to be left at U3.
Modem (modem.bin) must also be left at U3, because downgrade modem to U2 while keeping the U3 bootloader will leave you with unknown network or IMEI loss untill upgraded again.
Same with cm.bin. It needs to be left at U3 afaik.

I had a similar problem and this may be helpful. I tried to do the "FRP Bypass Method Using Odin" and afterwards the phone would not boot or flash any other roms (Odin checksum errors). After investigating I found one of the last version of 7.0 changes the bootloader to v3. Once this happens you cannot go back to any v2 firmware. It also makes some versions of modified Odin not work (including the one included in tpierce89's FRP Bypass). After much frustration I tried a different Odin and was able to flash V3 roms. I used "Odin3 v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD.exe" . Here is the link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/patched-odin-3-13-1-t3762572

I am not where I can check right now but the fifth to the last digit of the baseband version will have a "3" rather than a "2". An Oreo (android 8) ROM example is G891AUCU3CRE7. I think there was 1 or 2 Android 7 roms that used boot loader 3. Once you get one flashed that will work you can update to other versions. Tonight I will try to post the one that worked for me.
---------- Post added at 02:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 PM ----------
When I said above you can update to other versions, I mean only newer versions with bootloader v3. My understanding is that you cannot go back to v2.

The Android 7 ROM that has bootloader v3 is G891AUCS3BRD1. The key was that I had to use the "Odin3 v3.13.1_3B_PatcheD.exe." to do the flash or it would fail.

Find the thread for your stock firmware and see if it is available there. This happens because of root and/or the unlocked bootloader. You have to unroot and possibly relock the bootloader to be able to take OtA updates.
Sent from my Moto G6 Plus using Tapatalk
Same issue here .
If your bootloader is unlocked or if you do not have the stock recovery anymore then the update will fail. If your rooted then look through your device for the update package and upload it online for others to see.
I've tried flashing the stock firmware but get same result. Where do I get the stock recovery to fix the issue?
I haven't unlocked neither rooted my moto g6 play yet, I received the update notification this morning , I've updated it with no issues ( around 500mb). Update is Android security patch level , 1 September 2018 , build number : OPP27.91-143

unlocked bootloader won't make you unable to do the update. only stalling custom recovery and/or rooting phone. as soon as I got this update by the beginning of the month, I just reflashed stock firmware and did the update.
