You can get a JB version at http://www.sammobile.com/firmware and flash it with Odin.
How root..?
Do not flash jb rom after you updated to kitkat.YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE.

Does downgrade to 4.3 change KNOX to 0x1?
I don't even think its possible to downgrade ..
Also would like to know if its possible
I downgrade my old S3 .
Because my wife didn't like 4.4.4 CM by temasek I have to install a stoc ROM.
First I try with a stoc 4.3 but no succes with odin.
But succeded downgrade with stoc 4.1.2 from SD card.
It's not possible to downgrade, because there's new version of Knox that will block any downgrade. It's the same as normal Note 3
Can anyone please tell me a method to downgrade my device ..
PLEASE

Yes! there may or may not be difference in modem/baseband, but bootloader needs to be compatbible, hence flashed for 4.3 before flashing 4.3 itself
yes
You are able to downgrade , but only if the 4.3 zip has newer build date than your current installed 4.4

So, did you make it ?
I've Rooted my Samsung Galaxy Grand Plus GT-I9060I (single sim)
Baseband: I9060IXXY0ANL6
Kernel: 3.10.17-255453
build number: KTU84P.I9060IXXU0AOA8
used the boot.img from this thread
ran kingo root
problems are:
disables the rotation sensor (cant want videos sideways)
on boot root triangle is shown(haven't tried root triangle go away yet (but disappears when you flash stock rom)
cant update SuperSu binary (manually, automatically, Superuser version fails too)
We still need CWM if anyone could help me I've setup Ubuntu (dual boot) and already made a custom rom with root using android kitchen but cannot flash it as need Recovery (odin cant execute the on flash scripts that the android kitchen compiles with the roms)

Hi i followed all the steps as mentioned.... but after flashing restarting it is not going past Sony logo, not even the boot animation.
Please help
Hey there Just decided to share my experience. I have a D5503 and I flashed the 14.5.A.0.242 firmware. After this I decided to try to root the device, but since I had no TWRP or Clockwork it seems impossible to root. I lost my bootloader unlock too and no tool or method seems to be able to unlock it. I tried the official sony method, tried from flashtool and other similar programs but nothing seems to work (from cmd it comes up with and error message, some kind like "failed, cannot complete command or smth"). And yes,I've checked and my phone's bootloader CAN be unlocked. Any ideas what must be causing that or I just have to wait for a proper tool/method for root/BL unlocker ?

Why are you asking silly questions ?
You know perfectly what to do.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/guide-how-to-update-to-official-mm-t3452082
Or you can unroot ,flash back stock recovery and You can upgrade to M easily providing your phone has not been tampered with , meaning , you are not rooted no more and have stock recovery .
If you have above and you can factory reset in settings , then , simply download M firmware from asus.
Put on external SD .
It should read something like this
UL-WW-4.21.40.134-user.zip
Or .144 or .184 or .223-user.zip .
When downloaded and inserted into phone , open Asus file manager and edit the file and save > eg.
UL-WW-4.21.40.134-user.zip.zip
Eg , put an extra .zip on the end of file , save , then reboot phone .
Side note , you may get ota to M , depending how you unlocked bootloader in LP
pps hit the thanks button for me unravelling your confusion in this thread
.com twaddle ppps ,
If you put ASUS fw 52.20.40.196 on ext sd same as above too , you can downgrade , upgrade go fishing and never brick .
Extra dimensional twaddle ...
Each time you downgrade or upgrade , your bootloader is re-locked
All info of this downgrade/upgrade process is in my signature and has been there for some time
Each time someone else is confused about updating I will refer them to this post

Hi,
I have an A720F that uses the A720FXXU2AQFA ROM (ZTO). I need to use the old ROM A720FXXU1APLI (ZTO). For Odin it is not possible to downgrade, it gives error.
I can only upgrade to Odin, not to CWM or TRWP.
I need a solution and I can make a donation through Paypal to those who can help me.
Thanks! Sorry for my bad english!

I have a sales application that makes bluetooth connection with a card reader and marks the placement. The only version that works is the A720FXXU1APLI, then upgrade, does not work 100%. Sometimes it does not connect to BT and it also stops geolocation. I have little knowledge and every time I try to go back to the original ROM it gives an error, I researched and I saw that the problem is that the version on the phone is bigger than the one on the binary. I only know how to use Odin.
I need to be able to install an older binary on my cell phone, downgrade but odin will not let me.
In short, I need to install an older official stock rom but Odin does not allow it.
System Rev. Check fail Device: 1 Binary: 0

I do not know how to do it, I have little knowledge.

Not possible unless you modify the .tar.md5 by removing the .bin files in it, then tar it up and flash in odin.
The secure bootloader (sboot.bin) won't allow the downgrade of itself. Needs to be left at U3.
Modem (modem.bin) must also be left at U3, because downgrade modem to U2 while keeping the U3 bootloader will leave you with unknown network or IMEI loss untill upgraded again.
Same with cm.bin. It needs to be left at U3 afaik.
