Davis Case Pixel 2 leather wallet case
Try Davis Case for a, very high quality, real leather wallet case. I have one of the magnetic closure ones for my previous phone, and will probably never use another brand of wallet case. It is very durable, and just looks better over time. They are made in Israel, and the customer service is really good.
Bought my wife this one from Amazon for 10$.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0734RVXWH
It's a bit cheap, and there isn't much room for extra cards, but it works and does the job.
I found the best collection of Google Pixel 2 XL Wallet Cases - https://www.thecrazybuyers.com/best-google-pixel-2-xl-wallet-cases/
is there no wallet case non folding type? just with 2 card slots on the back?

I carry my Pixel XL in my left pants pocket with baggy jeans and I've been noticing when I lay my pixel on a flat surface that it's twisted a bit. If I push on a corner it will rock back and forth corner to corner. If I give it a slight tweak with my hands it will go back to normal. I thought maybe it was just my case moving around a bit but I popped the phone out of the case and it does it without the case too. I confirmed with one other person that theirs is doing the same thing. I never had this issue with my 6P. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed this.

hmmm, that isn't good. I would contact google. Surprising considering how well it held up in the jerryrigeverything test.
Are you sure the surface is level and flat?

Sounds like the iPhone 6 and 6s lol

I've tried it on multiple surfaces with and without the case. At first I thought it was the case sliding around (ringke fusion) but it did it without the case. Also another person I know is seeing the same thing and runs their phone naked.

Well considering the pixel is thicker at the top than front. The slightest displacement in a surface will make it rock

Right but when I give it a tweak with my hands very lightly it will then lay flat. I've tried it on at least 10 different surfaces too. I think a few of them would have been flat at least.

I do t see how you could possibly twist the phone. It seemed very durable in all the test
I saw one pixel that sold on swappa with damaged corners from it being dropped. When I looked at the pictures, I asked the OP if it was twisted or an illusion, obviously no reply.. But it was severely twisted.
Mine is so extremely subtile that it's hard to see but I can look across the screen from one end to the other and see that there's a slight twist.

Yup... that FLICKERING problem seems to be happening to a lot of people...
Good thing Google has been proactive in replacing them
Same thing with mine. Purchased via Project Fi.

I'm glad it's not just me then. I was going to try and get a video of mine soon too, but thanks for posting a video of yours. What I see with yours is exactly what mine is doing. If i give it a little gentle tweak it's right back to normal.
Hi all,
Anyone here with the Google Fabric Case experiencing problem with NFC detection? The case seems to be too thick to allow NFC to pass through.
Kinda weird considering the case is endorsed and sold by Google but to make a Google Pay payment, I need to remove the case first.
Anyone else experience the same issue or my case is one of a kind?
Thank you.

I don' use Pay, but I use NFC to connect to my BT speaker almost every day with no issues. The range of NFC is supposed to be 2-4 inches. The fabric case is really not any thicker than any other case out there. Have you installed a metal plate inside the case for a magnetic mount?
That's what I thought too. But first time I tried to pay using NFC and nothing happened, I thought it was a problem with my phone. So i went home and experimented with placing a NFC enabled card all over my phone but nothing happened.
As soon as I took off the fabric case, the card was detected immediately. Very strange indeed.
Nope. It's just my pixel xl 2 and the case, nothing in between...
:crying:
I have the fabric case and have noticed Google Pay acting extremely finicky the entire time I've had the phone. It was instantaneous on the Pixel XL and Nexus 6P.
Just curious do you guys know where is the nfc reader on the pixel XL 2? Im guessing under the back glass I might be wrong...

Works fine with my fabric case also.

Hi all!
Just got my Pixel 2 XL today. I've been scouring the internet for a leather clamshell (no wallets) style case with a single card slot on the back. I found one for my Pixel XL, but can't find anything for the Pixel 2 XL. The one option I have found is a custom case from an Italian group on Etsy, but I'd love to not spend almost $100. Just wondering if anyone has come across a cheaper option I've missed.
Thanks!
How about this one?
NEW Google Pixel 2 XL and Pixel XL rev. 1 Italian Leather Case 2 card slot vertical to use as protection Choose the Device and Color
Also, its not a clamshell you are looking for. Clamshell = Billfold.
Hi All,
Posting here on advice of a kind reddit pixel community user.
I work from rope, repelling down buildings in NYC. Typically, everything I carry is leashed to my person in some-way, but I have yet to find a case for the pixel that lets me do this easily or reliably. Following a mishap at 25 stories up recently, my trusty pixel found its way out of my zippered pocket and discovered that it could not fly after-all. I need my phone to perform my work, and having a jerry rigged system just doesn't provide me with the confidence I'd like. I'm hoping the wealth of pixel knowledge in here might be able to offer some case suggestions that have well built attachment locations for a carabiner or knotted cordelette.
Otherwise if anyone has any out-of-the-box ideas. I'm all ears.
Thanks everyone!
I think something like that may be good for you

I use the SPECK Presidio Grip case. I dropped it a couple of times, some of the drops were really bad but the phone survived all of them without any damages whatsoever.
Rhinoshild Solidsuit or Urban Armor Gear
Dropped my phone any times with the UAG case and not a scratch on the case or the phone.

Nothing will survive a 25 story drop. Sorry. Maybe neck strap like those waterproof universal phone pouches?
Even the Rhinoshield bumper case works phenomenally well. I've dropped my phone countless times with just the bumper case and have never had an issue.
Perhaps, have a look at this: https://www.ipitaka.com/products/magcase-for-google-pixel-2?variant=4542502469660

These offer zero protection on the top and bottom edges. Waste of my $50. I loved the case till it dropped a certain way and my screen shattered. Threw the case away after that.

I'd recommend the RhinoShield ones. I've used two of them on my Nexus 6p and now the bumper one on my Pixel 2XL. The 6p bumper survived falling down the stairs, the bumper got scuffed but the phone was ok.

Hi everyone, I've got the new Pixel Stand 2, it seems pretty good, but whenever I put my phone on it, the screen turns off, which is annoying as I use my phone as a night clock. I can't seem to find any settings for behaviour whilst on the stand, can anyone suggest anything?
In the Pixel Stand settings, should be on top right as you put the phone on the stand, there is an option to turn off the display when it is on the stand. Is it dark in the room when you put it on the stand?

I just solved it by finding the stand in the connected devices setting and taking it from there, thanks
Anyone with the Pixel Stand 2 having issues using it with a case? I'm using a Caseology case and it charges much slower, as I assume the coils aren't as flush to the phone with the case.

Yes.
The Spigen Tough Armor case constantly causes a realign message on the display. My Spigen Liquid Air case works fine.

My wife's Galaxy S20 with a thicker case works fine so it looks to be a Pixel issue. Unfortunate.

My OnePlus 8 Pro had the same issue with the same case; it would charge very slowly, or not charge at all depending how it was placed on the 30W WARP wireless charger.
More likely it's phones with faster than 15W charging that have these types of issues; thicker cases equals slow, or no charging, at least that's what I've experienced.
