hi
im on nexus 5x android 8.0 stock
and when i playing games like CSR Racing 2 after 5 - 10 min playing
i can see a lot of lags so today i change the kernel to shadow kernel ( i try franco and ElementalX )
shadow kernel is the best for android 8 stock
and i dont see any lag in CSR racing 2 but the game crash sometimes
so i want to know what rom and kernel is the best for performance and gaming and for battery life
( when i dont play games i need battery life to be good )

I'm using this setup:
Stock oreo + elementalx kernel + Hawktail 1.2 governor
I'm pretty impressed with the results. I've got like 4+ hours of SOT with heavy usage

Hey guys
I'm a owner of a LG Optimus 4X and just like you guys we have issues in ICS with some games with dropped frame rates and lags, especially in gameloft games...
I know that nVidia updated (finally) their sources for Tegra 3 in Jelly Bean and finally supporting the 3.x.x kernel tree...
Did it get any better? Are games finally running good?
Our hope is that Jelly Bean with a new kernel can save us...
Thanks!
I guess this is the best way to put it. I'm using ICS hox (stuck with h3g so no jb for me >.< ) anyway my cousin is using JB hox ,so in simple operations ( no games ) his hox is way faster ,but if we get into NFS MW hes HoX laggs constantly while mine laggs only on 1 map for around 10 sec with car road block every other map works perfect. Also i must mention he is using stock kernel while i'm using NCX 1.2 ghz kernel and undervolted -250 at some freqs, so it's kinda wierd that my phone works at 1.1ghz (4 cores ) and doesn't lag lol. Also i don't use any scripts for NFSMW for boosting it up. And lastly when i use faux's kernel 11VF 1.6ghz and renovate gaming boost my phone is nearly fast as his in almost everything, as for games mine is clearly way faster, tho battery dies in 2 hours or less lol. As for Modern Combat 4 he has some FPS drops but playable while for me works great. Btw if your device isn't HoX doesn't mean it will be the same for you + since now kernel source is realeased i'm sure when our great devs start making custom kernels JB will be way better then ICS. Hope this answeres your question and helps =)
Not sure but NFS MW runs way better on my note 10.1

Anyone else?
We are hoping that Jelly Bean and it's 3.x.x kernel can save us...
Is There any ROM which is good for gaming and is ICS,JB with good battery life
I like CyanogenMod, but some basic games(Temple Run, Subway Surfer) sometimes lags
i think its due to high RAM usage

Hi m8,
I use UHD rom from jader is ICS whit good batery life ( 0,8% per 1h on standby mode) this rom have good opinion and lots of free ram.
I must stay on sony kernel and still is very very good.
Happy New Year
Gaming is best achieved on gb based roms.... ics and jb take a heavy toll on the 512mb ram on our device.... for gaming i recommend gb based x gamer rom.... cheers!

it's good combination!!!
Hey guys I was running nxt 1.3 on the Xperia play and at first it was running games pretty smooth. Then I started restoring my old games and downloading more apps. All of a sudden the games have become very slow and lag badly. I increased my overclock frequency to 1.6 GHz and games were a little smoother but still unacceptable. I was getting about 17 fps in vice city, 23 in real racing 2 and about 24 in modern combat 3.
I couldn't take it anymore so I returned to stock and I flashed doomkernel and now I have overclock frequency of 1.2 and here's the fps scores .
24 GTA vice city, 27 real racing 2 and 33 modern combat 3.
Please return to stock. And get the best gaming performance
hmm.

Hmm Do you mind sharing your whole setup ? I mean what performance tweaks have you done except removing bloatware from stock ofcourse? Also, have you tried Lupus instead of Doomkernel with stock ?

Well I am a bit new here too . But as far as I know , I think u can remove bloatware by rooting and using root explorer. I was gonna flash Nxt rom because essentially its cutted stock rom so in theory it should be better. But quite a few ppl like you seem to be returning to stock and finding it better for gaming. So i did make a question about it too ( which u can see) but havent got satisfactory answer yet . I think I might have to just flash nxt myself and compare performance with stock :s. Btw, I think considering Lupus is still developing for our phones and doomkernel isnt maybe u should give Lupus a try .
xdark
you could also try XDark ICS V0.2 Rom, i find gameplay on this quite good, i got quite a lot of lag on NXT. I use Doomkernel V3. Also Darkforest ICS is good, but i like Xdark as it is closer to sony stock look.
Hey, how great is working Gangstar Vegas on your LGOG? Which rom and kernel do you use, do you use oc? I use Vanir 4.3 with Kite Kernel , and sometimes, i've got slight framerate drops (below 25 fps) on Very High details.
It is lagging even on galaxy s4
Snapdragon 800 with adreno 330 gpu is running this game smoothly
Like lg g2 and note 3

Yep, but i know that S4 Pro can much more...In my opinion it should be working on Very High (and it's working).
I don't like stock rom, because of thermal throttling (phone makes warm, and cpu drops to 1100mhz), on Vanir 4.3 (one of Oct nightly) phone is a bit cooler. I was using Kite Kernel (4.3 version of course) ,because of better scores in Benchmarks and slight OC (1620 option), the phone wasn't so hot as in stock. But the 1 Nov 2013 is very great build. On "nuclear" kernel (provided with rom) theoretically phone was slower, there were no OC option, but... framerate is much much stable in games, Gangstar is working now without any lags on very high, and...WOW! the phone is cool (never seen cooler OG), there's no thermal throttling, 1,5ghz all the time
My problem is solved
what is that "vanir" rom? and that "nuclear" kernel?

I have turned thermal off (probably the thermal file is deleted or thoreshold is rised up)...Anyway in the rom that i use, it's not necessary, bucause, my phone doesn't become hot already.
Hello.
I've bought Redmi Note 5 (Snapdragon 636, Adreno 509, 4/64GB one, it is called "Redmi Note 5 Pro" outside my country and on XDA) without thinking about gaming on it.
Sadly, I've tried PUBG and I've started enjoying it. Too bad - this phone performance is lackluster, PUBG doesn't run well...
If I would going to buy phone again I would decide to get Pocophone F1 now, but it is too late so well - I want to get as much performance possible from Redmi Note 5 Pro right now.
Which kernel and rom combo would make this phone perform best in gaming? Are OC Kernels like No-name 2.2 GHz or TwistLoop 2.51 GHz any good?
I've got 116759 Antutu score on stock rom and kernel (4.478-perf+/MIUI Global 10.0.6.0) - 56327 CPU, 21326 GPU, 31573 UX, 7533 MEM
Thanks.
Try gaming on aosp rom, like pixel extended or havos os. They run pubg farr smoother, but the rom themselves are average on battery. If youre searching for an overall lasting rom, with good battery, use masik 1.7 along with noname kernel or insigiux kernel. I play pubg too, and the best fluidity was on aosp roms, but i couldnt play more than 5 6 full games, and switched to masik. I can play 9 10 upto 15 18 games on masik, but using the kernel and gfx settings.

You could also use gfx tool to disable shadows or lower the resolution. Helps a ton.
