[Q] LG App Unlock

I need some help... I was able to find the LG Voice To Text App and download it. I tried to use the XBMOD certificate method to install the app on my Samsung Focus, I was able to install the app and it shows that the app is installed on my phone but when I run the App it says "Sorry, This application only works on LG's phone." I know that the Samsung Apps have been working on HTC devices. Is it possible to do the same thing with this App and get it working on a Focus and other WP7 devices?

As I say in another thread, HTC and LG apps all check if they are running on the correct type of phone.
We have to found what they actually check (registry? file? driver call? other native API?) to see if we can trick this API.

They call his camera module GUID using LGAppCommonLibrary.dll.
It was not obfuscated, so its a very quick fix.
Do not forget to deploy replacing the signatures/removing the drm description.

I'm getting a connection error when I open up the Voice to Text app and click on any of the options to initiate the VTT. One thing i DIDN'T do was deploy replacing the sigs/removing DRM. Could THAT be the reason or is it trying to use some LG libraries for some connection? Has anyone gotten this to fully work on other devices?

I re-tried with the drm and sig options with the same result.
"No connection.
You don't have a connection at the moment. Tab Try Again to reconnect, or tap Cancel to set up your account later"
I don't see a Try Again or Cancel button .

Can anyone try this with the network profile app? I can provide the xap
If not does the network profile perform the same thing that HTC connection setup performs e.g. Installing/overwriting provxml?

If its the same checking just rename my patched xap file to .zip, rename the unpatched xap to .zip open both and drag LGAppCommonLibrary.dll from patched to unpatched.
Deploy. Done.

Here it is the patched version, but its highly probably to receive an error because they use custom LG camera properties. (I haven't tested it however)

Well, the GetCustomProperty function is one of the "problematic" ones because I think it tries to get something custom for lg phones using a guid code.
In the emulator I also get a similar "GetCustomProperty" error but with another description

seems like its the same protection as in the other apps (voice to text)

I was using Total Recall with my i9000 (substituted libs) but regrettably it doesn't work with my new i9100.
Callrecorder seems to work in the meantime, but like manuvaidya I'd rather have greater scope to customise functionality, including getting rid of the perma-notification. Any other applications working, or can anyone figure out how Dsoft have their recording app working with the SGS2 when so many others don't?!

How to set the application to autorun on the reboot of the phone? In WM is set a shortcut to startup, but in Andriod?

Quick workaround that might solve your problem....
Startup Manager is an app where you can add programs you want to launch on boot.
I tried and got the app to start on reboot.
It doesn’t start in the background so your first image on reboot will be the call manager..
It's not an perfect solution, but would help so you don't forget to start the app.
Maybe somebody else know about something better..

Thanks for the Startup Manager idea.

The SGS version is only for Froyo and doesn't work on an SGS with Gingerbread rom. So don't expect it to work on SGS II for now.

Callrecorder doesn't work with my Bluetooth car kit - just get feedback over the speakers (though the recording is ok). Anyone else having success with BT devices?
SGS/amended libs with Total Recall worked perfectly over same BT kit, so I'm guessing Callrecorder is recording from microphone instead - which works when using the handset mic but not so well with a high gain car mic?

Has anyone yet found a fully working call recorder for the GN2? By fully
working, I mean able to record both sides, with or without BT headset.
I tested for example "Total Recall", but when you use BT it only
records the other side. Any experience would be appreciated!

Tested all thinkable configuration with Sanity, but to no avail.
Like many other call recorders, it only records the other side.
I'm starting to believe there is no way to have both sides
recorded (without root), when using a BT headset.

The phone has call recording built in. You just need to enable the hidden button for it and it will appear right in the dialer screen. Several roms include the mod. It can also be uncovered using either a modified secphone.apk or the xposed framework.
All options require root and are easy to find out about using Google.

When using sanity did you change the audio source to 'phone call' under recording? . I think default setting was recording from microphone.

My 801 from tmobile US didn't have it when I got it, but I'm on cloudy's pro II rom that has, but I get no audio.

Thanks man this sound problem is not only fm radio it also affects Skype Viber and some other apps with the exact same problem so you can change your thread name to something more general
also libs are enough i didnt replace the apk and odex file and my radio and other apps works fine
also the mega link is protected and needs a password but the other one works fine

I don't have any issues with sound?? Skype was good. Hangouts good. Music plays well. Tones and ringtones all change and play well. Headset and speaker.
I can't get rid of the damn NFC icon.

It doesn't works for me, model d802 rom G Pro 2.
After overwritten the files audio.primary.default.so and audio.primary.msm8974.so in system/lib/hw folder now i don't have any audio at all.
Can someone please upload to me these 2 files?

There should be a toggle for NFC in the notification panel. If it's not there scroll all the way to the right and go into toggle settings, enable the NFC toggle, and then switch it off.

Change permissions for radio files as well.

All files permissions already are rw-r-r- but still no radio app is available.

As far as can be determined...
The only US variant with working FM is the Sprint LS980. The other US devices have the FM antenna pin grounded.
Furthermore, there's a weird analog switch chip to route BT or FM digital audio to different ports on the SOC. Non FM models don't have this chip.

I have no idea if this has been asked before but google music has issues with playback. If I select a song it shows that its playing however I have no sound in the headphones. I have been having this issue for all the editions of the rom so I don't know if I am doing anything wrong as I have to mess around with it to get it to work. It is very hit and miss

Try to activate the awesome player from development option.

Boot stuck at "starting apps" - RR 5.5.5
I tried to build RR 5.5.5 and I was able to build with no issues.
But, after flashing and rebooting, the mobile get stuck with "Starting apps . . ." screen.
Can anyone help? I have tried both RR frameworks/native and frameworks/av and also CM repos with same result.

Audio hmmm i try to check i test the call and proximate sensor but some times crazy thing happen on proximate sensor .. Try to use the latest build October 1
